I’m really happy you did this update video thanks Chris!
Thanks for your time ran my gas line out side hope I don't have any problems.
Your video's are really top quality, vital information too, thanks much.
Nice work Chris, keep them coming
Thanks again, my good man!
Good info about the fuel line. Great solution for a common problem. I will do that. Thanks!
awesome man, let me know if you have any questions
Thanks for all the info you put out!
U bet, thanks for watching my channel.
Nice wonderfull tip!.....since Perú!
Useful information; thanks Chris. I’m saving up so I can ship my ‘63 Bug to ya from the West Coast.
very cool. looking forward to it.
I understand that the UPOL bed liner is very good.
U-Pol 0820V-Gun Black Urethane Truck Bed Liner Kit with 726 Gun
hell yeah
Just a heads up Chris... some states DO NOT allow fuel lines running through the interior. It's an inspection failure. I guess I got lucky replacing lines in my fuel injected '75. I was able to pull them out from the rear frame horn with a slide hammer of sorts. Used an electrical fish tape to pull new lines through the tunnel and original tabs. A couple areas I slid some rubber line over to protect and zip tied a couple spots through existing holes in the tunnel. Only took a few hours.
Wow that's nutty. I mean then the only other way would be running it outside alongside the heater channel, or something.
@@classicvwbugs it is! Massachusetts is really strict with inspections
Good tip on the fuel line Chris!
thank you. Some think it is dangerous. I have run it both inside and out.
Chris Vallone Honestly I would never think it was dangerous to do that. If you think back of all the other cars, the fuel line runs along side of the frame underneath the car. Running it the way you did it would not be unsafe. Have a great day Chris!
@@SladesVWBeetle I agree, after thinking about it more, where else can you run it but outside the bug? =o)
Chris Vallone absolutely Chris. Honestly every car I have worked on outside of beetles, the fuel line is run along the frame rail, by the factory. There is never been a tragedy over it. You make good common sense in everything you do my friend. I believe I tried to add you on Facebook please check it when you can. Would like to follow you everywhere if possible. Have a wonderful day brother.
@@SladesVWBeetle you da man, thank you for that man.
I've seen the floors flex' when the brake pedal is pushed, so I'd go for the thickest floors possible.
Chris, the IGPs are meh and I will tell you why. I had a 68 vert that I used them on, and they would make a warped oil can sound every time I sat down. I always opt for the better ones, I mean if you are going to go as far as doing a pan off, why cut corners right? Great video!
Hey Chris, any experience or comments about the Key Parts (Klokkerholm) premium floor pans? My understanding is that those, the premium ones, are 18 gauge, and according to some they are as good as the WW pans. In the process of resto my 66 beetle. Thanks for the many educational videos you have put on.
They are ok quality, I would pick wolfsburgwest over them
Hey Chris :) I live on Long Island and I need to find some original sheet metal to fix some rust on my 67 beetle.
I’m having trouble sourcing them...any direction you can point me in would be very helpful :)
I know I can order most of what I need online but I’d like to explore this avenue.
Thank you kindly
you may have to source a donor car if you want original sheet metal. Have you checked thesamba.com? Or some of the FB groups?
Hey young man, I live in Fayetteville NC, bugs are plenty here!!
I’m no expert, but I’m not sure it’s a good idea to run a fuel line inside the cabin. Might even be a deal breaker for a state inspection.
Well, brake line runs through originally too, and that is more corrosive, but doesn't have fumes like gas does. Running it on the outside can be an issue too god forbid it gets damaged in driving. I have done it both ways. What does everyone else think? Would love to hear your thoughts. =o)
I just got new pans and I’m concerned about durability and strength because they are 22gage.
Should I put those and move on or return them and get the 18gage?
Well depends what you are intending to do with them, show car or driver? The only real issue we have had with the cheaper pans are the seat rails, they are weak, and from time to time the seat itself comes off the rails because they bend too easily.
@@classicvwbugs thank you Chris!
I’m going to get the 18gage
What is a reasonable price to pay for someone to install one side. I live in california
Hopefully the body is off, so say up to 1000.00 or so.
Mine has 2 holes up bye the pedal assembly and my tracks look different 55 oval
Does that matter
i need some advice i reverse hooked my battery onto my car and now it won't turn nothin i have a 65 bug any advice? i replaced the starter the battery cables the fuses and ignition coil and its a brand new battery.
uh, well hopefully you did not burn out your switches.
One more question Would it matter the battery if there’s a 71 one engine in it should I get a battery for a 71 not a 65 not a 6 volt a 12 volt ?
@@morkicks818 You need a 12v battery for a 71
