      Disagree. That is when we build depth. Ireland ran out of fit and energized players in the WC, because they do not build depth between WCs. NZ now has the same issue. Conclusion = SA does not mind to drop games, that is when optimal combinations are tested and depth is built.

    For the love of Rugby. Here's the way a realistic South African sees it. The Bokke are setting a high standard at the moment, and this is a good thing for everyone. Because, as is the true nature of things, South Africa is not going to maintain this indefinitely. Why? Because they are being studied and analyzed, and the general level of rugby is going to be raised, and they will be overtaken at some point when the other teams are raising their skills levels, their structures, their planning, their science in studying the game. So, at some point the Boks will start losing games again, not because they have become weaker, but because the others have started to catch up with Rassie and his way of thinking. In the meantime, lets bask in glory of being the best in the world....for a little while longer. I predict that by the time the 2027 World Cup comes around, things may no longer look the same. The Boks are going to have to be exceptional like as has never seen before, to win in 2027.

    • @jacquescoetzee47
      @jacquescoetzee47 2 дня назад +3

      @@HeeniKeke How about this for perspective and context: between 1994 and the next few decades, South Africa faced the greatest political upheaval and transformation of perhaps any nation in the world, let alone any rugby-playing nation.
      Years of isolation, sporting boycotts, and enforced transformation policies after the collapse of a literal regime meant that South Africa could never play at their full potential. Fortunately for New Zealand this coincided with their best ever period, hence their success. But things are very much trending the opposite way now.
      You people know this, but you choose to ignore it and keep clamouring onto old records because you know the writing is on the wall.

    • @HeeniKeke
      @HeeniKeke День назад

      @@jacquescoetzee47 So your reasoning for SA improving is your politics has improved? Did politics improve in the years SA won the TRC and then decline in all the other years?
      The writing that is on the wall is that there are now at least 6 teams who can beat each other, and this is good for rugby.

    The reason Rassie brought in Tony Brown is because of Ireland. They are very good at taking away elements of the Bok power game. Very good at the ruck, so difficult to build phases, excellent at stopping mauls, their scrum is always competitive for the first 40-60mins and their technical nous always gets them at least one penalty at scrum time, plus you know they’ll use the free kick rule to get out of a crucial scrum.
    And if Ireland can do it, everyone else can learn to do it.

    • @greatshark9625
      @greatshark9625 2 дня назад +2

      Ireland maybe fast tracked the process but the reality is that the Boks no longer have the biggest players. Ireland, England and France a definitely have bigger forward packs that the Boks so the belief that the Boks will continue to bully everyone is unfounded. Variety had to be brought in there… especially with the diversity in talent coming through in SA… enter Tonyball 🔥.

    • @adc5897
      @adc5897 2 дня назад

      That was then this is now. Boks are building on areas of the game they never went to before. And yes, part of it’s due to Tony Brown.

    • @kevinewert8546
      @kevinewert8546 2 дня назад

      @@adc5897 right, and I’m saying that part of the reason that Rassie is building these new areas and not simply sticking to their “DNA”, like a lot of commentators are calling for, is because Ireland knows how to limit our strengths, and what they do can be learnt from by other teams.

      Two great players from a country we 🇿🇦 do not like to play.😂
      What PD me off is that after winning the Rugby Championship we dropped"pun intented" we moved from 1 in the world to 2 against Ireland that played no games and beat us with 1 point ro square the series 1 - 1. To put more mud in the road the #Springbokd will not play Ireland on the end of the year tour. It will be Scotland, England and Wales ; taking out the possibilité of à grand Slam and put this World Rankings.nonsense to à final end. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN PERFECT. That's #WRU for you.
      I thing we started playing better rugby with the URC. It's popular, great rugby, great crowd and knowledge of the game and gives the Northern teams à chance to play in our huge stadiums in front of massive crowds. Personally I thing the URC tought our SAFFAS à lot and I hope we returned the favour.
      Thanks for a great chat.

    • @kevinewert8546
      @kevinewert8546 15 часов назад

      @@revenant2979 I’m rather sanguine about the world rankings. Fact of the matter is, Ireland lost two away games, we lost one home and one away, and home loses are more costly. The rankings are about right. What is more interesting is that the two teams are only 0.35 apart, which means that there is hardly anything to choose between them.

    Manie is an AWESOME player. I myself had very bad emotions and comments about his miss that cost us a win. And, yes, the normal boring part is always, "it was a team effort". But the Boks did manage to get the penalty he missed. So, anyway, to get back... Manie is clearly part of the Tony Brown game plan, and he is GREAT at it. We really just need a real kicker. Pollard at 12. Or get Kolbe, Hendrikse, or even Ox to start practicing their kicks.

    • @Theunislb
      @Theunislb День назад

      I like manie, think he has brilliant vision. But have manie kick.. no, I fully believe manie brings more to the table if the kicking for goal isn't his responsibility.
      Ao I have my doubts about him being our kicker but for sheer insight I'd have manie. My 10 cents.
      People get angry when you say choose pollard above manie, it's nit that manie is bad or worse, he just can't kick in pressure environments, he can't and anyone arguing that is senile.

    You have no shame. None of you are going to say anything about the terrible and completely biased refereeing?
    In case you're interested in our opinion, it's obvious that South Africa was better, but we don't think they need help from this horrible referee, and I don't want to forget the TMO, never, but I've never seen anything like that.

      Seen anything like what? Player taking out a guy in the air? Shoulder charge to an opponent's head? Preventing a possible try by knocking the ball forward? All these actions have been regularly penalised in all games for the last two years, and more specifically, in this very same RC. But you still reckon it has "never been seen before" and is total "ref bias"?
      Either you have not been watching any rugby involving teams other than your own, or your TV is on the blink.

    Hey guys, would it be possible for Dan to give us a good 5-10 minute sermon on scrums for a bit?
    He is a legendary scrummager in his own right, scrummed against us a few times and at this last RWC, he was up against the Spicy Plum himself, Steven Kitshoff. And England held! You guys were absolutely ferocious in that first 50 minutes.
    But then the bench forwards came on and England had no answers for Ox and Koch, which directly contributed to South Africa's win.
    I'd love to know what that particular scrum battle was like, and what your strategy was going into the battle? What did you think you could attack on, how effective did you find it, how did Kitshoff cope with it? Did you set up a few "traps" where you lured him into a mistake or two? Did he do that to you? How did you cope with it?
    And then, can you maybe tell us about some of the dark arts? Those little infringements where a prop knows that they are doing something naughty, but if they get away with it, they can keep doing it? Im sure all of you big props have got those little aces up your sleeve and I would love to hear more about it!

    Lets be honest, the Bok transformation/overhaul is the result of humiliating hidings from esp the AB's & everyone else in 2016-17 and which finally kickstarted the reset that was so desperately needed (after decades of underperforming). We Saffas generally have no problems with losing to better teams - it's pompous mediocrity that we hate.
