Absolutely agree. When we pick up the Sub on April 1, we have a 3 night shakedown reservation booked right there at the campground where she's stored. Safe travels...
Hi Guys, I’m sure many viewers (us included) would be very interested in your process for pulling your AS out of storage and checking it out before hitting the road. Happy St Patty’s Day and safe travels
Great video. I agree - I’m all about a shakedown campout, especially before a long multi-state trip. I like your “sticker plexiglass” board. I would be interested on how you made and mounted that item.
Rick, if you didn’t check suspension and breaks in the off season, this first trip out is always a good opportunity. I carry a digital thermometer to check brakes on a regular basis.
Great tip! I plan to rotate the tires and inspect the brakes in the coming weeks before with head out on a longer trip. We also carry a digital thermometer (very handy with many uses). Thanks for watching. Happy camping and safe travels.
Shakedown trip. Love the term. Yup, we always forget things after doing a good clean out but it does feel good to start fresh. Missed you at Silver in the Sand. Have a great camping season! Quick question- how do you set up the house when gone for an extended trip- shut off garbage, water, set a/c on ? Might make a good video.
Thanks for watching and the comments. Wish we could have made it to Silver in the Sand. As for prepping the house, I have a working checklist that I’m developing when we leave to travel. Depending on the length of the trip, we may stop the mail, turn off the water, adjust the thermostat, etc…. Not sure it’s ready for a video just yet, but I like the idea. Happy camping and safe travels.
Great video. Really good to hear Lisa doing the VO in this one. Petersburg was our first ever COE park. I think we were in the same site, A-17. 😮😊 Nice sticker display on the door. I’m still working on convincing Michelle we need a map & sticker display. Take care, guys.
VO are something we are still learning and trying to include in our videos. I think Lisa also has a better voice for it. Happy camping and safe travels.
The ARCYBER and Special Ops patches are from the units my two sons are serving with. I was never smart enough or talented enough to be in those two units. I served in Air Defense units before retiring a few years ago. Thanks for watching. Happy camping and safe travels.
I appreciate the video, but I'm not sure why you couldn't do everything at home under your RV garage, unless you just want to get out and camp for a couple of days (nothing wrong with that either). Wife and I are going to be camp hosts near Yellowstone this summer and the one thing I worry about is something breaking down in our 2005 Classic due to extended use over a four month period. Not really anything you can do about it except make sure everything is in good working order before you leave. Oh, almost forgot, I noticed you only have small mud flaps on your truck. How are those working as far as protecting your rock guards? After trial and error (a lot of dents) I put "Rock Tamers" on my truck, which has dramatically reduced the numbers of new dents on the rock guards. I don't think you could put them on your truck though as your hitch setup does not appear to have room for it. Best regards and happy trails.
Hi… to be honest we could have tested 75-80% of everything at home, but what fun is that. As we mentioned in the video (Reason #5) a shakedown trip is a great way to jump start the camping season. Sometimes you just have to make time to go camping and have fun. As for your concerns about breaking down during your extended 4 month trip, I would recommend having some critical spare parts on hand. I made a video on this topic and have then listed on our Amazon store. It may give you some peace of mind to keep them on hand. Thanks for watching. Happy camping and safe travels.

The sticker board was a super easy DIY project. I bought the plexiglass at Home Depot (cut to size) and used Velcro to attach to the door.
@@thewrightlife - how thick was the plexiglass? I would think the thinner / the better.
@@thewrightlife - what did you use around the border of the plexiglass? Thanks for the details.
@LeeH-Ranger83 …the wife picked up some decorative tape at Hobby Lobby and applied it around the edge as a boarder. Hope this helps.
@@LeeH-Ranger83 …I don’t remember the thickness but it was on the thinner side.

love the trailer, looks like great weather to get out too! just check the fire bans and any drone flight restrictions :)
Thank you. Happy camping and safe travels.
Great video! Thanks. How close did you come to dragging the rear end at 4:25? Looked close!
About 3-4” I think. If we turn left out of the driveway we would drag but turning right, we don’t.

Those stickers look great! Thanks for the always excellent content! Looking forward to sharing some space with you both again soon.
Same to you guys. Hope to cross paths again soon.
We are definitely ready for the camping season. Thanks for getting me excited as our first spring trip is at the end of this month.
Thanks for watching and happy camping. ⛺️
So the beginning of camping season also includes a clean shave? Enjoy!
A clean shave was the final task of our “de-winterization” process. 🤣
Like the ARCYBER patch on your door. Wonder if we crossed paths. BRN 10329. Hoping to cross paths somewhere down the road.
