I own a 2012 2.5 Jetta SE. I live in a city with a height of under 2500 feet (aprox. 660 meters above sea level). And it runs fantastic, with just 138k miles. No noises, misfires. I always use premium fuel (89 or greater) (I know its not necessary, but its just for peace of mind) so I keep my injectors clean.
Hey man, I love the videos on the 2.5s, its really making me consider getting a IE stage 2 tune for my stock 08 rabbit, but I am not sure if its worth the risk because my motor has 300K km on it, i would really appreciate your input, do you think its worth it to tune it? For the record, maintainence are always done on time and the car drives mint with its engine and trans.
Thank you 🙏🏻. There is always a risk when pushing the equipment farther than the manufacturer intended. I will say that these engines are very reliable when proper maintenance is performed routinely. I have 180k miles on mine and I drive it hard. It’s been reliable.
These motors take boost really well. You could RS3 swap it (a lot of work, especially wiring) or you could build a turbo setup on the 07k that is already in it.
@@VoyageRC hahaha yeah it's true however I dont want the bees in a can sound at all on mine, my neighbor ruined his volvo 5cyl tone but straight piping it, horrible and bothers everyone with the noise. I might remove the resonator 1st and see what happens
@@VoyageRC I love both. I used to have a VR6 Corrado and a VR6 MK 3 Jetta. I now have a Mk 5 Jetta 2.5. The first time I drove the 2.5 My first thought was how remarkably similar it was to my Corrado in terms of driving characteristics and sound. They make similar power too. Although the Rado was much lighter and quicker than my 2.5 🥰. I never shoulda let that one go
5- Cylinders just sound so good! What was your favorite?
All of them without turbo because turbine whoosh attenuate the symphony of natural aspirated of that Mini-Lambo!!!
@@gati54uri094 I agree, the sound is 👌🏻 when NA
HELL YEAH THIS WHAT IM TALKIN BOUT!! I literally just hopped into mine as soon as you uploaded!

That turbo and 5cyl combination is bliss
Got a 13 beetle. 2.5 manual. Love it. Exhaust is next then a power kit. Wanna keep her NA. They sound so sexy.
Love mine! Mk5 Jetta here.
Love it!
4:20 sounds like a m5 v10 a little

amazing
I wanna bike carb one just to see what it sounds like
I’m planning a swap to put one into an ‘89 Jetta mk2
The ultimate setup! 👌🏻
I drive a 13 2.5 passat i love it and i want to mod it, some say do an rs3 swap some say it wont be hard to mod i dunno what ill do yet

@@renaldolamar anytime my dude! I love seeing the 2.5 become more popular.
love my mkv
Some of them really have that lower octave louder and its just insane.I wish I could make mine just a LITTLE louder without sounding like sht
@@jasonmateus924 in my experience it’s hard to make this engine sound bad

@@jasonmateus924 I would remove the mufflers and leave the resonator. You will get the noise and the resonator will keep it smooth.
@@VoyageRC i might try that! Worst case I put it back LOL
Better than a VR6? 🤔

Some of these sound nice, but 16 seconds for a 1/4 mile? lol
Typical family sedan. They do react very well to boost though. But you can’t beat that sound.
@@VoyageRC OP is just a jackass..... For an "audiguy" he seems very unfamiliar with the 07k.........
