    How do you have your oil catchcan set up inside the car? i’m having trouble with a vacuum leak

    • @odell_productions
      @odell_productions  Год назад +1

      I currently havnt mounted the actual catchcan in yet just running a hose bypass for now, till i find a good spot to mount it. Are you boosted and where are you getting you vac source from?

    Would I have to get a custom exhaust manifold done to properly install the turbocharger? its naturally aspirated so I know an rs3 turbo wouldnt probably work. Ideally is what I'd want to do.

    • @odell_productions
      @odell_productions  Месяц назад

      Depends on what you want and what its going into. There are a few “off the shelf” options for top mount and bottom mount manifolds. Some custom work may need to be done depending on your setup. Im currently running a spa bottom mount on my new build. As for the rs3 turbo, you could use that but would have a buy a manifold adapter to make it work. Those are also usually much more expensive than a regular turbo and manifold setup.

      The engine has stock internals. Not sure how much power it had but somewhere around 250-275hp

    Hey my name is Jakob and I’m in the process of turbocharging my 2.5 Jetta and would love to know where you put your oil return line and feed line. Can you please get back with me.

      @odell_productions  Год назад +3

      My feed line is ran off the oil pressure switch with a basic t fitting. Drain line is going to the crank locking port on the back of the engine. Some say not to drain there because it could drain onto the crank causing aeration. I have had no noticeable issue with it though.

      @@odell_productions could you fit a catch can or is that not feasible? Looking a turboing a friends 2.5 w him just trying to work out some kinks before we get into it so it’s still reliable 😂😊

    • @odell_productions
      @odell_productions  5 месяцев назад +1

      Yes i have one mounted behind my passenger headlight on my current setup. There is also one that is made to bolt to the engine by the oil cap. But if you live in cold weather climates, catch cans can freeze up and cause excessive crankcase pressure. Ive had it happen multiple times, usually when its about 15 degrees and below. I drilled a hole in my oil cap as an emergency relief to prevent that.

      Currently dont have a parts list, a lot of the parts im using are off the shelf bits. Only custom thing is exhaust manifold. A good spot to find one though is on the 2.5l group on Facebook. Lots of great info on there for boosted or na.

    You answered my most important question. Where do you get a header. Guess you don't need one.
    My other question would be, can you do this with stock pcu?

    • @odell_productions
      @odell_productions  10 месяцев назад

      Honestly id recommend the spa turbo manifold if you’re ok with doing a bottom mount. Its a good price and good design, but here i did a customer log manifold using the factory manifold. And yes you can tune the stock ecu, some people move to standalone if swapping into a different shell or like a racing setup for more customization ability.

    You think a turbo rabbit is possible with the 09G auto? I’m not trying to have the highest boost or super fast rabbit. Just 250-300HP stock internals if possible

    • @odell_productions
      @odell_productions  10 месяцев назад

      Not easy to get a tune for a boosted auto. Im sure its possible but likely not worth it. But idk i dont drive any autos.

    • @odell_productions

      SPA has a few things for the 2.5s like manifolds and internals. IE also has a fair amount of stuff too.

    How much did this set up cost I'm looking to do to my 05 jetta 2.5

    • @odell_productions
      @odell_productions  Год назад +1

      Not sure exactly but corners were cut to save money initially. But im currently doing another turbo build with a budget of $5-6k. With $5000 you can get everything for a proper setup. I might make a part list after this new build is done for other to use as a resource.
