I think it would be AWESOME to cover the left side with paper and then use it to document memories of the week - so it's Memory Keeping, and Planning all in one!
As a list girl, I use the left side *exactly* as categorized. For Calls and Bills, I lay down checkboxes and write in the date I took that action in the circle/square. I have referred back to those items later for different reasons. Was so grateful it was all written down! I do wish all the sections (other than the Focus) had lines as I pencil in my own each week.
I love when you guys use Dashboard layout in your planner vids because I not paying attention got the Mickey Undated classic with Dashboard layout planner and had no clue what to do decorate it. Thank you dmso much for all the inspiration... even videos from a year ago are so helpful to us newbies!!! Have a blessed week!!!
I find the boxes on the left side super useful and they make me so productive but I draw a complete blank when it comes to decorating these spreads. I wish they would release a seasonal dashboard layout that does NOT have people in it (people in my planner totally creep me out). I am holding out hope that they will have one for 2020 but in the meantime, I'm gonna grab a seasonal vertical and hope I can make it as functional for me as the dashboard layout has been.
Rachel Ethridge I agree! They creep me out too from videos I’ve seen. I just won’t use or buy those...I literally thought I was the only one on here who thought that...especially the fall/seasonal one where you don’t see the girl’s face but a hat creeping down over her coat. It freaked me out. Love Kell of a Plan channel though.
Thanks for the tips! Gave me some great ideas! Something I decided to do in my mini dashboard layout is take a piece of cute filler paper and glue it to that left side of the spread. I then have a blank page to write down some thoughts or feelings from the week. I am a mini planner typically for the everyday stuff but since the schools closing I have flip-flopped my classic that I use for journaling to my school tracker and everyday and my mini is now my journal.
Thanks for all the tips and tricks for the dashboard. I got the undated extension pack in the mini. I am really liking it. I'm hoping they come out with a Classic 12 month with the dashboard layout.
@@heatherbeh2925 I believe they come out maybe October. I still consider myself new too. I got my planner in September of 2018. I got an 18 month that was on sale at the time. At that time I did not see any 12 month planners. But I know they did come out with some new 12 months after I got mine.
I've always used a planner every year..I cant wait to get my 1st happy planner! I consider myself a planner newbie and since I'm going back to school I figured I'd reward myself with some happy planner supplies! I'm so excited. A question that I had was if I wanted a 12 month planner and wanted it to start in January when will the happy planner come out with those? I just want to make sure I get to my Michael's when they load the shelves.
Thank you for this video! It was really usable😊 I have to know where the floral paper is from? Probably some American shop where a dane cannot get her (my😄) sticky little hands on it, but one can hope😍 so where is that beautiful paper from Heather?👏🏼❤️
It looks like some of the items used were from Planners Anonymous . If you search her videos she has reveals or unboxes them. I also believe you could get them as they are a company in Australia . I am in the US and love getting them. Heather also has a subscription code you can use for a discount off of your first order. I hope this is helpful. Have fun creating and planning!
Heather Kell also, question I have is where can I get a pair of tweezers like the one you use for lifting up and placing small stickers? (The hockey stick shaped ones?)
I accidentally bought a dashboard layout for my planner this year and I cover the entire other side with full box stickers and decorate it and use the other side for my planning, it's definitely an adjustment but I could justify going out and buying another planner 😭
I’m pretty new to planning and I’m confused about the meaning of a dashboard layout. I thought a dashboard was a heavier piece in the front of the pages.
Jennifer Blair it is, if you notice the left side of the weekly layout it is sort of a dashboard for that week. I normally have a dashboard at the front of the planner, but with a layout like this one has a dashboard for each week. I have noticed that dashboards have become pretty decorative, but really they are meant to be functional.
Dawn White there’s a lot of different groups for the happy planner... just search the happy planner and they all should come up ! I’m not sure which specific one she’s referring to but I follow one for each of the layouts ... well the dashboard the vertical and the horizontal and then they have just HP ideas & inspo also ! Hope this helps !
I find it strange that people cover lined boxes with lined stickers. It is so much easier to go with it, or cover uwated headings. However, if a girl likes creating with stickers all the extra work could be appealing.
C Morris same. I don’t want to have to cover 1/2 a planner with whiteout tape so that I can use it. I made the mistake of buying one that had a ton of decor inside (very busy sale...so I was grabbing quickly)--and I didn’t want to waste -so have been using it--but I can’t wait to swap in a new plain Jane for my catch all planner.

This was so cute!
I’ve watched a few of your videos and you’ve helped tremendously! Thank you
I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the black flowered washi you used to cover the boxes!
ME TOO! Heather, can you tell us where it's from?

Not a fan of people in my planner. I feel like the only person who doesn’t like the Rongrong stuff.
I didnt think this would be relevant to me, but I recently switched to this layout instead of vertical, which was hard, bUT THIS WAS SO HELPFUL!
You are so creative! Thank you!

I just bought my first dashboard planner for 2020 and had no ideas about planning it. I have had both vertical and horizontal planners. Thank you!
You don’t have to replace you whole trimmer (unless there is one you covet) You can just buy new blades. They usually come in a two or three pack.
Thanks for all the tips and tricks for the dashboard. I got the undated extension pack in the mini. I am really liking it. I'm hoping they come out with a Classic 12 month with the dashboard layout.
Amber Turner I am pretty new to the Happy Planner. When are the 12 month planners released?

Amber Turner thanks so much!!!
I’m sure they will. The mom life planner was a 12 month and it has this layout.
I use the buttom box of the left side for short random notes of the week.
Great ideas! I’m new to your channel and it’s such a great planning resource. Thank you 🙂
Loved you tips! I’m considering going to a dashboard layout for 2020.
elishea bounds I loveeeeee my dashboard
So many great tips!

Great ideas. Thank you.
I love your videos and ideas! What’s the name of that rectangular cutter you used ??
So I bought my first happy planner 8.5×11in. So can I reuse it but buying the inserted and extensions??
Krystal & Demein Johnson yes
Awesome ideas!! TFS!!!
The 2020 monthly dashbroad layout doesn't have what's for dinner but it does have Monday to Sunday labeled .
Great ideas thank you.
I would love to have the accessory pack with the cards. Where can I find it, please? I'm such a newbie! Thanks
This is an old video and an old product
Love all of your videos Heather!
Free Spirit - It has a maroon elastic with 938 stickers
D. Moore THANK YOU!
Keep in mind there are 2 different free spirit books. This one is exclusive to (I thinks its Joann's, sorry I'm not American)
Love it!
Do you use different designs everyday?
How do you not cut the paper underneath when trimming washi? I'm heavy-handed, I guess. 😂
I don't press all the way down!
Heather Kell also, question I have is where can I get a pair of tweezers like the one you use for lifting up and placing small stickers? (The hockey stick shaped ones?)
@@beccaplans Dollar Tree has good ones. Michaels at the jewelry section too.
Sabrina Nunes I have to go there either today or tomorrow, thanks for the tip! 💜
Awesome..tfs🧡
Great video
You could have put a piece of the purple washi & put it vertically. Sorta mimicking having another piece of paper offset.

There are 4 different weekly Happy Planner layouts: horizontal, vertical (hourly or clear) and dashboard
Love your videos. Just bought the dashboard layout yesterday. Do you know the name of the facebook group?

Happy Planner Dashboard Layout Inspiration might be the one she is talking about. It currently has about 11,000 members.

❤❤❤❤❤
I hope the new planners aren’t as colorful. I don’t want a bright, girly, one for work.... i need something like me... plain, boring, loner self.
