How sad to see traces of Boneax in different places of the internet, his art is really special to me, and influential too, it's sad to see how things turned out, I wish he never left. Even though what he did was really bad, he didn't need to take down his main gallery, now's almost impossible to find his works. I wish he redeemed of what he did, apologised and re upload his drawings, of wich he probably still has, and keep drawing. He wasn't evil, we all make mistakes. I believe he shiuld search help and come back.
I kinda wish smt used other religions as the central idea for the games. I think the themes of Christianity have been exhausted at this point. It's part of the reason why I like digital devil saga so much since it uses the ideas of Hinduism as a philosophical base in which to tell the story
Nice point! I think it ties into the idea I was getting into in the SMT V discussion where I feel like the new teams survive only on recycled ideas from earlier games whereas I feel like games such as Nocturne tried really hard to separate themselves from such an exhausted topic. The new games change too much in the wrong places, but too little where it actually matters, so I feel like casting a wider net of influences would definitely help the team come up with something more original.
I actually agree with this, of course I don't think they have to get rid of major figures like Metatron or Lucifer, but having more games that delve into other religious themes would be a great change of pace.
See, that's a credit I gave to SMT Apocalypse. The Divine Powers were a pretty cool addition, I would love to see more rivalries between the gods as additional routes, but it's wishful thinking.
Great discussion! Altho I have to admit, the second half really just made me scared for smtv and the franchise's future. (P.s. sounds like some of y'all read Eirikr J.S. 's amazing 'identity crisis' blog articles)
I can't believe I didn't namedrop that article at any point. I think, more than anything, it conveys my thoughts more concisely and extensively than I ever could in a free-form podcast like this. Great catch though!
@@Runako32xI can't see the thread, can you give me more details about what happened with Boneax? I used to watch his videos and the videos of his friends many years ago. Also, sorry for bad english, I speak spanish (Like Boneax).
@@Elmechaslargas Sadly, I can’t find the original doc since its been deleted but from what I recall, Boneax got exposed sending explicit messages to a minor (they were 16, and he was 22)
Oh man, I don’t even know where to start. All I know is; I very much look forward to replaying Nocturne again on modern console. Either I enjoy it or not as I did the first time will be an amazing experience again. Plus (Re)Introducing people back into the series will be awesome to see.

Then again, I always have fun playing the games in the moment even if I feel differently afterwards, so as long as smt v is fun, I'll be satisfied
