You always have to be careful with fragrance reviewers because, like wine or film connoisseurs they often just can't bring themselves to recommend mass appealing stuff, which is the very thing 90 per cent of people are looking for in a fragrance. Taking reviewers word as gospel had me doing absurd things like buying Bentley for Men Intense when looking for my signature - complete wrong direction.
I purchased, this frag. After sampling and the wearing this for a relatives wedding. In the summer and I received several great compliments. And was asked what frag I was wearing. I bought it thereafter 😏 great review!

My experience was the opposite of yours. I wanted Sedley ever since I got my hands on a 2ml decant. After a few months, got a 125ml bottle. And then... I came to realize that the lavender is what dominates this composition through the life of the fragrance. Yes, mint is there at the beginning and I liked it... Until I discovered the mint on Xerjoff's Rennaisance. After that, I couldn't like it as much as before. That does not mean that I dislike Sedley. It just so happens that there are others now that I like better.
Just wore this one yesterday. Have only tried Percival and Sedley out of the warmer weather specific fragrances from PdM, but to me, Sedley is by far the better of the two. It just seems much more refreshing and pleasant, also got about 6-7 hours on my skin. Sedley kinda gives me an Aqua di Gio meets Bleu de Chanel vibe with the citrusy aquatic smell, just wish it was more in that price range also
One of my favorites, but I’ve only smelled it from a PDM sample set. Regardless, all 1.5Oz of that little blue liquid pull in so many compliments, I may have to buy a whole bottle!
I personally don't dislike it but as people say, parfums de marly is better known for the heavier scents and that's also what im purchasing from them... for the freshies i've just settled for bleu de chanel (still one of my favorite day to day scents after trying so many other fragrances), prada l'homme as a soapy/powdery scent and guerlain l'homme ideal cool/cologne for the really warm days... that's why i dont really care for sedley which is also more expensive than the aforementioned scents...
This was my 2nd niche purchase after cedrat. Love it! 👌 Edit: also, I picked this up on fragrancebuy at around $117 for a 2.5 ml. At that price I couldn't pass it up!!
I have Layton, Carlisle, Herod and Oajan.. I have a bottle of the Sedley coming in the mail right now. Excited now that summer is on the way. Parfum De Marly, TomFord, and Tommy Bahama are my 3 favorite brands of cologne.
Scent-wise this is my favorite freshie of theirs but Percival and Galloway just perform exponentially better on me. If Sedley had that type of performance it would be an all-time favorite for me.

I loved sedley I bought it for my husband to gift valentines day. It's a nice fresh scent different than other blue fragrances like chanel blue to me. The lemon note is amazing.

Went through 4 samples (2 old, 2 new) and it just falls flat on me every time in the drydown. I like the mint, but the rest is just meh. I'll pay for the Zara clone though. When it comes out. So I just got a travel size of post 2020 sedley. Man. It's minty and smells like a mosquito candle for awhile. After about 20 minutes though that citronella smell dies down and it really smells clean and fresh
I love this in the summer. I Wear it more than Percival & Greenley. But I do prefer some of their other “cold weather” fragrances more. Layton, Herod, & Carlisle all are better IMO.
Very nice but it doesn’t project for a long time, becomes a skin scent after 30 minutes, but you can smell it for 4-5 hours if you put your nose on the skin.

Similar experience here. Not my fave from the house but after 2-3 sampling (I think I sampled the original version first) it didn’t wow me nor interest me too much. I kept hearing about it everywhere so I picked up another sample which I enjoyed wearing more (newer formulation I believe). I received a compliment as well, and I enjoyed wearing it on occasions as well do I began looking around for a discounted 125ml bottle, which I eventually found and bought. Now I use this and Percival depending on what mood I am in, aromatic fresh or woody musky fresh. Both are solid, but I wouldn’t pay anywhere near the $345 retail price for it. For $200 or below, not bad.
Had a decant of the original formulation…loved it. Softer. Bought a bottle without knowing it was reformulated. I think it still smells great, but that fuzzy Ambroxen note does make it a bit more sharp.
I snagged a 75ml at $100 and for that... I can live with myself, and its really growing on me now that summer is here. But if I'd paid full price, I would've been feeling a bit underwhelmed especially regarding the price value.

This is one I just grab and sniff the bottle. I have so many fragrances this doesn’t get much wear. Plus I’m mostly at work and that’s too costly to wear there. Overall, get you some. Straight 🔥
I don’t really like sedley until the dry down. Im not a lover of big mint notes. It’s ok to me not worth the price. Out of all the pdm fresh fragrances I like Galloway the most followed by greenley and then percival. Kalan is ok too but not for me either but I like that one better than sedley.
You lucky duck! I ordered my Sedley a month ago here in Germany. And what do you know, sadly my Sedley has the old formulation :(. Batch code analysis says Feb 2020, but it's the 2019 formulation. How can I tell? Well the performance is just dreadful.... Also I heard the new formulation uses an unpressurized sprayer (this is true for my Percival and Galloway), but I have a pressurized sprayer. I love the scent though. And I didn't at first. It's like you mentioned as well: At first I thought it was just a boring mass appealing scent, but I really grew to appreciate it a lot!

The new bottle has an unpressurized sprayer and the batch code is 2021251. Despite the first 4 digits it's apparently from 2022 and it does have noticably better performance but nothing crazy.

My opinion: Greenley has a fantastic opening but a meh dry down. When I first tried them I thought I would prefer Greenley. But after a couple wearings I fell in love with Sedley. I got my 125ml bottle yesterday!
I would rank greenley even lower than Sedley. Smells more designer to me due to the green apple you can find in lots of designers nowdays like spicebomb nightvision edp. Drydown is that mossy aftershave, which Im not a fan of. Performance also not more than average.
I had gone out and bought sedley originally in 2019 and apparently got the weaker batch and really weak I mean like five or six praise was gone in less than like 2 and 1/2 hours and then had gone out and bought my son a bottle of the 2020 batch which was supposed to be better and it really wasn't I had a bottle that was dated four February of 2020 the second one and it wasn't too too much better they said the onegevity was fixed but I don't know great smell but really doesn't last for the amount of money you paying and what you're getting
All Pdm was reformulated in 2020 due to a EU ban on some ingredient. Sadly the oil content decreased. I think they might have used more ambroxen in Sedley to keep the performance
Anybody else get Irish Spring soap vibes on the opening? That's all I can smell! Once it dries down it's pretty nice but... man, that soap smell is a little pungent in the opening.

Love the opening on Sedley. BUT, on the dry down, it's like 90% similar to Boss Bottled Infinite and you'll get the same kind of vibe in my opinion.

It is strongly reminiscent of Creed Erolfa. They just took the Creed Erolfa DNA and added a big dose of ambroxan and called it their own.

I had gone out and bought sedley originally in 2019 and apparently got the weaker batch and really weak I mean like five or six praise was gone in less than like 2 and 1/2 hours and then had gone out and bought my son a bottle of the 2020 batch which was supposed to be better and it really wasn't I had a bottle that was dated four February of 2020 the second one and it wasn't too too much better they said the onegevity was fixed but I don't know great smell but really doesn't last for the amount of money you paying and what you're getting
Did you purchase it at retail or from a discounter? Out of curiosity, is "Sedley" printed on the bottom label of the bottle?

All Pdm was reformulated in 2020 due to a EU ban on some ingredient. Sadly the oil content decreased. I think they might have used more ambroxen in Sedley to keep the performance

Anybody else get Irish Spring soap vibes on the opening? That's all I can smell! Once it dries down it's pretty nice but... man, that soap smell is a little pungent in the opening.
It’s an $$$ changeup - nice in the heat and humidity of the American South, a bit too 🧼 for everyday for me.
Not sure if its just me but PDM Sedley and D&G pour homme smell almost similar, not a one to one but quite similar or in the same direction. Anyone think the same or have any imput on this ?
Don’t last…projection is practically nonexistent…in my humble opinion percival is the best one…for summer, reformulation didn’t worked as we hoped with sedley….

Does anyone know how to tell if you have the old or new formulation of Sedley? I bought a bottle and I'm very disappointed in the performance. At best I can get 4 hours off my skin and anything after that it sits very close to my skin.
