Good to see sheriff Grady Judd there. He's a good man. That's one of my fears regarding the aftermath of a (natural) disaster. All looters should have their pictures posted for all to see. I love the zero tolerance policy. Florida has great leadership and I respect what they do and how they handle their business
Coulda, Woulda, Shouda. These Officials did the absolute best they could considering the situation. Second guessers need to shut up and start helping to pick up the pieces. Do something constructive rather than try to point fingers for no good reason. Admire this Sheriff. I lived in North Naples just south of Bonita Beach Rd. 2001/2014. Kills me see to see the destruction.
Once Mother Nature unleashes her energy, there is no going back. People lucky enough to get a warning should get out of the way if they can. I was staying with my parents when Mt. St. Helen's erupted. We had no idea the ash cloud would come their way and dump ash on their house for 24 hours. It was pitch black outside for a whole day. The air in the house was dense. It was scary. Some people's roofs collapsed. The destruction it caused upstream was like the end of the world.
I’m sorry, my comment came off cold. I did watch the video, that’s why I Commented. What I was saying is, people can’t be forced to leave unless there is a mandatory evacuation and even then, it’s difficult to enforce that especially when told only a day before landfall. It was very difficult to predict where this hurricane was going to impact. I’m in no way victim blaming bc this is all just the aftermath of a natural disaster. It’s a hard choice to make and people have to decide whether they will leave.
I have nothing but respect for these three sheriffs they do amazing work I've never lived or been in Florida in my entire lifetime but in the upper Midwest we have a saying it says where it is right is right what is wrong is wrong taking something that is not yours is wrong and these parts the homeowner would probably put a unrepairable hole through you before they called 911 they did an amazing job with what little they had to work with they do a tremendous job but I tell you what if we ever lose The thin Blue line we're in a deep world of hurt.
I respect you Sheriff. As a Floridian living in Florida I prepared a week ahead of time for me and my husband to evacuate our mobile home in Sarasota even when Ian was predicted to land in Tampa Bay. It was exhausting moving our personal belonging into storage and making plans to evacuate. We stayed in a hotel in Sarasota. My husband has medical needs and we are both seniors. We are thankful, grateful and blessed that our mobile home was not touched and we had a home to come back to when many of our neighbors homes now have damage. Every person who lives in Florida or is here visiting has to take responsibility for their own safety first and to heed the warning way in advance and get out of dodge. Sir I don't know you and I'm not going to blame you or any one else for the I could have, should have, would have blame game. At the beginning and at the end we are all responsible for our own safety. I pray that through the storm God will shine his light into the hearts of many. May the Lord bring comfort and peace to the people of Florida in the coming days, weeks and months ahead as Floridians begin to rebuild their lives.
We're blessed that we have satellite images that can warn us before and we have state officials that tell us the warnings before this didn't exist years ago thank you so much
I am sorry to say this, but I have been in Florida for over 25 years. I happen to live in North Pinellas county. In the time I have lived here every time they say a hurricane is going to it Pinellas county, it always changes course. I either its where this one did or a little above in Sarasota or it hits the panhandle. I watched Irma was supposed to hit us. I watched as it got closer and then it veered to Hillsborough County. I know living in Florida that you have to be prepared because those storms always change direction. My heart breaks for everyone that has been so badly affected by this storm. I pray for all of your safe recovery.
SO EASY for people to criticize after the fact. It is OUR responsibility to watch the news and ultimately make our own decisions. I’m from South FL and have been through MANY storms. Am now in Lakeland and ultimately made my own choice now. Rely on the news for info but ultimately make your own choice. You are responsible. And for Pete’s sake take care of your pets.

@@kermitandmisspiggyb It was not unpredictable; a week out there were many eyes on it. I live in FL and was monitoring it every day, several times a day. The hurricane came up through central Florida and people that evacuated from Tampa to places like Orlando got stuck in Orlando because of the flooding there. Power was out in Tampa for days still too. People who have no understanding of what happened or can't really seem to see the big picture always love to be experts in the comments section. Or you're just biased because you have to stand by your political views every second of everyday and if that means criticize anyone right of you, you'll justify saying anything to make a nonsense point. We watched all the reports for Ian as it changed constantly. Bottom line is nothing is worth my life staying in my house during a hurricane. Hurricanes do what they do so it’s better to get out of harm’s way. We’re alive and safe.
Isn't it sad that people want to blame the government for death and destruction from a storm? I'm from Florida. I don't care what the government says, if a hurricane is coming you take responsibility and prepare.
Whoever is second guessing this sheriff and his first responders can go to hell! Prayers and much appreciation for these courageous people AND all Floridians during this awful time.

I was expecting the storm to hit Tampa. The news was focused on Tampa. At the last minute this storm stayed south, which spared my area by 50 miles. No one should be blamed, there was plenty of warning to prepare or evacuate. People make their decisions based on what they think is best for them. There's no room for anything but providing help. Thank the responders and helpers.
@@Kanne606 You cannot blame anyone for this Hurricane. Sadly, some people want to make this a Political Hurricane. Everyone should focus on saving lives, and helping the victims of the Hurricane.
@@Kanne606 the area that was hit, was within the cone of uncertainty that was projected. The only way to evacuate safely is to move at least 300 miles away a day or two before the storm's feeder bands even reach your area. Even the east coast was experiencing tornados the night before Ian hit, because the right side feeder bands reached Florida. If you are within the cone of uncertainty and it's projected to be a cat 4 hurricane, that's the time to decide to leave, and you don't evacuate to an area within the cone. It's possible if the hurricane made landfall in Tampa Bay rather than south it would be safer in the south, but that's why it's called the cone of "uncertainty."

KUDOS! BRAVO! THANK GOD FOR ALL OF THE FIRST RESPONDERS LOCAL AND OUT OF STATE!...CONDOLENCES TO THOSE FAMILIES THAT LOST LOVED ONES.
My respect to the 1st Responsers who have rescued saved lives and sacrifice your own keeping other safe not knowing your own family's situation.
All looters should have their pictures posted for all to see. I love the zero tolerance policy. Florida has great leadership and I respect what they do and how they handle their business
Only obituaries!!!
All looters should have their primary hand cut off...no need for pictures.
It's called an obituary

Coulda, Woulda, Shouda. These Officials did the absolute best they could considering the situation. Second guessers need to shut up and start helping to pick up the pieces. Do something constructive rather than try to point fingers for no good reason. Admire this Sheriff. I lived in North Naples just south of Bonita Beach Rd. 2001/2014. Kills me see to see the destruction.
100 percent!
TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!!
People who don’t evacuate make their own choice. There’s nothing a sheriff can do about that.
You didn't watch the video did you..
@@tb1235 How people love to sit back and judge. sickening.
💯💯💯
Good for you Sheriff! Tell them how it really is. You & Grady Judd, the Gov.& all the first responders did a fantastic job.
Well said, ma'am
We're blessed that we have satellite images that can warn us before and we have state officials that tell us the warnings before this didn't exist years ago thank you so much

Well said my friend. May God bless these people. Thank You for saying that 🙏🙏🙏
We stand with you Sheriff!
So grateful for these county sheriffs and their departments.
How bad was Lakeland hit, we used to stay off Old Combee road by the Pubix, a few miles away from Joker Marchant field.
Spay and neuter your pets
Not everyone has it easy peasy to just pick up and leave . The whole situation is very unfortunately. I’m from Miami, and many companies are there right now as we speak to relief some burden
I'm posting again as I do not see original so it must strike reasons of TRUTH that is what is really needed not your blaming! Let's talk about DARPA CERN and cloud seeding please that's chem- trails if you are ignorant to that in witch it is NOT CONTRAILS!
FYI fake news isn't a fake saying even trump had brought up um it's been a household name over 60 years so you are way beyond the 🎱
Who is this sheriff ?. So we'll spoken and informative. To the point and no nonsense. I love it .. if you make an error ( looting) you will be carried out ... this guy is going places .what an asset to Lee County..
The people affected have been in my prayers. I wish I could come help if I didn't have such a demanding job. Those who aren't working & are able bodied, why not go volunteer to the affected areas + you will feel good your actions made a difference especially for elderly with no family. I volunteered after Hurricane Michael and it felt good to help people in need.
Florida has some bad ass sheriffs
Thank you for all the heroes!!!

Absolutely agree Sister in Christ Jesus..
I would have stayed too .. just like I survived hurricane Ivan a category 5 .. people stay because the shelters don't help. ask the homeless American citizens before hurricane Ian. now we have new homeless people in Fort Myers. who is going to help them? will open your home to a victim?
This Sheriff is obviously from New York and decided to understand the people of Lee county and the terrain. He’s had it with DeSantis. I appreciate the fact he was respectful to President Biden. Thank you sheriff
I love this guy! Carried Out, thats right! Dont screw with peoples stuff!!
Long Live Florida law enforcement. Thank you guys for keeping our communities safe during these tough times!! Great to see Grady Judd holding the line!! Sending love from Naples!!
With nearly 100 deceased, many still unaccounted, no water/no power and billions of dollars worth of damage it is a very little man who would say "I would not change a single thing".
I have the same policy for intruders, looters and thieves. I’m certain every sheriff standing there feels the same, not just the Lee county sheriff.
Please pray for law enforcement, first responders and victims of this storm.
I C Grady's there,, and he don't have any use 4 looters either 👍

I have never seen Florida be so prepared for a storm as it was for Ian. I am not a resident right now, but I call Fl my home since 1967, I was raised in Jax, I know what hurricanes can do and how unpredictable one can be. I want to thank the Governor and all the City officials who put the plan together for people to have the opportunity to leave or make other plans. No one can say where it was going to finally land. This Sheriff needs support not condemnation! The way to recover is to support each other. Prayers and love for all of Florida.
It’s sad all the negative. This hurricane was truly unpredictable. This poor man isn’t God. I truly believe he did his best.
@@kermitandmisspiggyb It was not unpredictable; a week out there were many eyes on it. I live in FL and was monitoring it every day, several times a day. The main problem is that Lee County did not place an evacuation order the moment the path indicated it would be right on top of them. He did POORLY; ask the deceased.
@@jh748 You're right about the storm being watched for the last 2 weeks! I live in New Jersey and they were constantly broadcasting what's to come!
@@tonnettegrayson1657 The constant broadcast changed drastically every morning. Just because something is covered doesn't indicate people know the final result.
@@jh748You must've missed the part about Lee County not being in the cone until the morning the hurricane was to make landfall. When Tampa was being evacuated I4 had hours long traffic for a few days. Get real about how Florida is shaped and how realistic it was for people several hours south of Tampa to evacuate with 2 hours notice.
No ones stopping you from moving away. 👋
BIG Thanks to our Authorities.
The News did a GREAT job in telling people to evacuate. I've been in Florida since June 23rd for work and had a dream on June 28th. that the Flood would happen. I was in the Ocean with two young caucasion childrem. I remember glass breaking but missing me. I posted this dream on facebook and attached the news to it. Been having pophetic dreams since the age of 5. Every news channel that I heard said to evacuate. They really stressed it. Still paying fo everyone. I prayed against it since the dream. I live in Clearwater.
Praying 🙏for Florida ❤🙏♥
Thank you.
We watched all the reports for Ian as it changed constantly. Bottom line is nothing is worth my life staying in my house during a hurricane. Hurricanes do what they do so it’s better to get out of harm’s way. We’re alive and safe.
Looting is the most scumming way of taking advantage of people that just went through the most intense hurricane for Florida.
Isn't it sad that people want to blame the government for death and destruction from a storm? I'm from Florida. I don't care what the government says, if a hurricane is coming you take responsibility and prepare.
This storm was extremely HARD on all of here in Florida 💔

I was expecting the storm to hit Tampa. The news was focused on Tampa.
At the last minute this storm stayed south, which spared my area by 50 miles.
No one should be blamed, there was plenty of warning to prepare or evacuate. People make their decisions based on what they think is best for them.
There's no room for anything but providing help.
Thank the responders and helpers.
they evacuated people and moved them into the path of the storm... that is the issue
Cinder; I bet you still had severe weather though. It gusted heavily here and I live in the panhandle. Home all is well with you and yours.
@@Kanne606 You cannot blame anyone for this Hurricane. Sadly, some people want to make this a Political Hurricane. Everyone should focus on saving lives, and helping the victims of the Hurricane.
Just like Charley.
