Staff Officer Phillip Sin backs up another deputy on a traffic stop. His partner informs him that the driver has been acting very defensive and suspicious, so Sin goes and makes contact, while a K-9 unit is en route. The driver is adamant that the stop is unfounded and is streaming everything from his phone on Facebook Live to show his followers how he’s being mistreated. Sin calms the man down until he asks him to exit the vehicle, so he can check him for weapons. At that point, the driver becomes agitated again and is narrating everything to his small online audience, updating the deputies on how many people are watching and responding to typed comments from his friends. Meanwhile, the K-9 arrives and alerts to something being in the vehicle. That something ends up being a small amount of cocaine. The driver denies that it is his. His Live session is ended, and he is taken to jail.

There are a lot of LEOs that get defensive around cameras, and I also understand that there are a lot of punk kids that try to act all tough behind a camera, so as long as there is a mutual respect, things should go smoothly. So guess you've never heard of audits on government buildings. Or why lawyers recommend the same thing guilty or innocent in an interaction. Police are not above framing lying and manipulation to get the outcome they desire. They are not all bad but that shit happens all the time.

Even the ones of "audits", unless it's one of those guys standing outside of courthouses, PD's & the like, you're wrong nearly 100%. If I'm with someone & we get pulled over, regardless of their color & they start recording or telling me to record, there is always a reason. It's one of the best ways to get a cop to stop messing with you when you're out doing wrong. Go look at almost every video of a traffic stop police encounter. No matter if the officer ended up using excessive force or whatever, it always starts with a mouthy mf like me who's doing something we shouldn't be doing. Legitimately. How many of these "audits" are filmed by someone driving on a suspended license or no license at all? No insurance? Little bit of pot in the car? Exactly. You shouldn't be so quick to speak on something you know nothing of outside of what you see online. ✌

The ACLU has a free and easy to use live stream app that goes right to their lawyers office. I used it once during an arrest and later they contacted me and they sued the Sheriffs office and I got a check for $60,000 4 months later. GROOVY! The ACLU still will not tell me how the Sheriff messed up my arrest BUT they found something wrong and paid! I think part of the deal was a GAG agreement between them and the DA.
