I come from a family which has an exceptionally long lineage of police-officers all from a major municipal level... So I'm most certainly familiar with the wide-range of vastly eclectic personalities, demeanors, attitudes, ideals, mindsets, ego's, expectations, & senses of humor that vary from person to person; whether radically polarizing, parallel or similar (@ least I think so)... so I can perceive the difference between a completely strict "by the books" straight-shooter with HIGH standards compared to, let's say, a pathetic power-tripping "bully with a badge" that loves to use (& maybe abuse) their authority with total impunity.
