I’ve definitely switched back to walk-up ticket purchasing when going to the theatres now because I can’t stand when I reserve a seat and somebody picks theirs way too close to me when there’s still plenty of other perfectly good seats available. Especially when people could pull out their phone or make too much noise, I like to ensure I have a good amount of empty seats around me when that’s a possibility.
Here on the eastern coast of Australia we are freezing through an unusually cold winter. A good time to hit the cinema. My daughter and I will see AQP Day 1 on Thursday.
Maybe what _Furiosa_ needed was to be filmed in winter?
THAT INSIDE OUT 2 DROP IS INSANE!
35% drop! That is CRAZY! And only a quiet place coming next week Inside out will hit a bill before Despicable Me in two weeks.
Of course, “Despicable Me 4” is going to make a lot of money. I’m hoping “Despicable Me 4” doesn’t gross over $1 billion. Who was asking for a fourth “Despicable Me”? I liked the first two “Despicable Me” movies, but the franchise went downhill after that.
@@brittanydavisghiblieaglesfan you’re the first person I’ve heard groan at another Despicable Me film. I too am over them, the minions are funny for a bit and then I’m over the dumb antics.
I also think it’s funny people act like Disney is the only one pushing out sequels but Universal is on a fourth DP movie which is the sixth overall in the series, yet few complaints.

Who? Kids, lots of kids.
What's annoying is that all these people hate watching the Acolyte. The only way to truly get rid of this garbage is to stop watching it.
It saddens me that Dark Matter is no being discussed anywhere! It’s so good!
It’s my favorite show currently and for a while.
I was waiting for this after hearing the 100 million second weekend!
Walt Disney was a business genius. What are you talking about, Grace?
Walt Disney was responsible for long-term strategic planning.
Roy Disney was more like a Chief Operating Officer who handled day-to-day operations.
In fact, Walt Disney Productions, more often than not, succeeded in spite of Roy Disney, and his decisions and his influence over some Board members.
Dear lord I'll watch anything to avoid the presidential debate 😂
lol thats about the only thing I'm looking forward to this week 😅
I am desperate to find a movie worth going to see during the “debate”
@@ICU1337why? I would rather jump off a rollercoaster
Nope. This is must see tv. The future of Democracy & the bodily autonomy of women is at stake. I want to see how well/poorly they perform. I want to be able to discuss it knowledgeably in the comments afterwards

It's funny how Grace is deadset on being in The Acolyte hill 😂😂😂 its hilarious seeing her defend a show that blames the low audience scores on everything but the bad writing it obviously has. It's beyond hilarious 😂😂
She's shillin' like a villain. LOL.
She loves the progressive messaging in it. That’s 💯 the reason.
Really strange as she claims to not be a part of the Star Wars fandom yet thinks she knows better than what’s obviously a majority not a minority
"No influence from Walt" Grace hits the nail on its head again. THAT is the problem in the company.
She hates that fact because she hates Walt. She'll never admit that Walt made Disney
I watch what I watch, and then I watch YOUR reviews on things. I don't like for the review to hinder my outlook on the film, so RT scores and such don't stop me.
I have my fingers crossed that Netflix can help boost Interview With The Vampire which is arriving on the service very soon
Loooove that show🥰🤞🏾
Hi Grace, I'm curious to know if there have been any updates or changes in the narrative surrounding Mufasa's story, or if the current information remains consistently the same?
Hi Grace. The numbers for Inside Out 2 don't quite add up for me. please can you explain how $155m last week plus $100m this week, adds up to $355m? That means even the world wide numbers are off, no?
These box office numbers are just for the weekends. Total box office numbers include the Monday - Thursday as well but that isn't reported in the weekend box office reports.
@@ThePodfatherGTD Right. With school out, people are going to the movies during the day and evening more than normal; "normal" being mainly be Discount Tuesdays, and some rush an hour after getting off work.
Surely Inside Out 2 will be the first billion dollar of 2024 🤞
it will make a billion in 2 weeks guaranteed but it might even do it next weekend which is wild!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah I think it’ll get there by next week. The mid week numbers have been great.
Lets see how close it will get. Looking good so far.
Get ready for toy story 39 and inside out 9
In 50 years from now AI will be able to make animated movies within seconds and Disney will release new sequels every day
I’m so HAPPY that Inside Out 2 is doing so well. It’s my favorite Pixar movie since the first Inside Out and had so much soul and powerful emotions. Thanks for yet another Movie Math Grace!
I'm so happy that Inside Out 2 is doing so well! It is one of my most anticipated movies of 2024. I absolutely loved the first one so I can't wait to see this one.
Great point on global heat wave. First thing I thought. Theater AC please.
I am Happy Inside Out 2 has done well but I wish there was a movie I am interested in the theaters to see…. I love a cool theater in the summer. Maxxxine can’t get here soon enough haha
Was expecting a "we are so back" meme 😀
"Rite Here Rite Now" is a proof, that fans matter, and fans can make or break careers....
It's braindead to shame the box office of Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare considering it's only had a limited theatrical release in the US and is scheduled for VOD/streaming in the rest of the world.
The Acolyte Sucks!😂😂😂
I’m in America and I don’t have MI: Dead Reckoning available on Netflix 😢
Yup it’s definitely not there..

Who is Grace friends and family with? How do their screens compete (in size) with even the smallest of movie theater screens?
Disney hasn’t got an original bone in its body tbh. Looking at Disney plus and it’s movie slates each year… very repetitive stuff

Saying the criticism against it is invalid and dumb is wild. Also I didn’t see anybody walking back what they said about it either lol

I'm not planning on watching the presidential debate that's for damn sure.
17:26 I'm confused, is a 70 score bad ? 🤨
Good, but not great, especially for Lanthimos and other indie auteurs that rely on critical acclaim to bring in audiences. Without the acclaim, these films can be dead in the water. I think Lanthimos' name will pull in quite a few people, but dont expect much staying power or numbers remotely close to Poor Things & The Favourite.
For an Oscar winning follow up and a critics darling duo like Yorgos and Emma , yes.
Would Nielsen give us ratings on the Presidential debate, in actually curious how many will tune in- or if most will just see clips on Twitter and TikTok
Oh no... please, please, please don't cover the election. There was nowhere to escape last time.

Went to see Inside Out 2 because I found myself with some extra money this week. Oh my goodness anxiety made me cry. My goddaughter was confused 😂.
Grace I think it's safe to say this is one traffic jam everyone was looking forward to getting stuck in 😅
I know an entire family that went to see the Ghost concert on the movies, because they are huge fans

I love when Movie Math is 30+ minutes!
Ghost is a Swedish metal band that is a rather big thing. (I am more a Meshuggah, Opeth and Candlemass-guy myself when it comes to Swedish bands.)
Looking at what is scheduled to come out in July, I might have actually seen something I would go to the theater for. I think I am going to take my mom and the kids to see the 40th anniversary re-release of "The Never Ending Story".
i wish Beverly Hills Cop Axel F was in theaters
Im concerned for Moana 2 tho, the trailer doesnt look promissing :(
I wonder if Kendrick's concert will be included on Nielsen's ratings
I saw "Bikeriders" and "Ghostlight" this weekend. I thought they were both great.
Gladstone wrapped her current projects long before her Oscar nom so this doesn’t really count. Her current deal that happened after the Oscar’s was the wedding banquet remake

They’re delightful. I hope you enjoy them if you do decide to watch them! Hoping to see the sequel a second time soon. x)
Am I the only one that didn’t really like Inside out 2 that much and felt it was lackluster? I thought we were getting a story about Riley bottling up her emotions? Why would we get a story during a two day summer camp prior to high school, instead of actually seeing Riley dealing with high school which would have made the anxiety story much better I’m sure.
I’m hoping they’ll make an Inside Out 3 that’s a high school story. Maybe one set a couple of years after Inside Out 2 and then Inside Out 4 is about Riley finishing high school and trying to figure out what to do with her life. They could make so many of them.
Inside out 2 was great. I’ve seen it a few times with my son already
If I go to the theater it must be a premiun screen or I wait for streaming, which sadly I'd have to do with most horror movies.
Although we get stuff after the US in England on Disney + we get the Hulu shows on STAR
It’s the same in Germany. I moved back to Paraguay recently and there’s a separate streaming service called Star+ here in Latin America apparently, but as of today, Star content is on Disney+ here too. I might finally start watching The Bear!
Wow IO2's numbers are mind boggling. Cute look Grace!
If Deadpool & Wolverine makes at least 1 billion, then yeah, Disney definitely saved Hollywood. Deadpool & Wolverine making a billion will help push CBMs back into the good graces of the general public, especially if it’s actually really good and teases some solid future projects from Marvel.
Will Despicable Me 4 take some of that massive audience? IO2 appears to be adult women, is that the audience for DM4?
Inside Out2 was super busy this weekend and I don't like SUPER packed theaters so I passed. Maybe go during the week. CELINE will get my watch for sure. Then DAY ONE is on my radar for sure!
… That Iger bought SO many IPs that Disney simply and really doesn’t need to create new ones is so, so sad … And totally not the vision Walt once had. Iger, from a creative point of view, is THE worst that has ever happened to the spirit of the company :-(
