Great video very well done I think it’s good to switch it up every now and then again that’s why I decided to keep my a6100 even though I always have my canon in my hand, it’s just a different feeling and it does give you an eye-opener on different views of things

Excellent video. I just enjoy shooting with a Fuji camera I've had the XE-1, XT-4, and the XT-5 arrives Monday). I've had multiple other brands but the Fuji system just feels right. The recipes are a fun to work with, too. Multiple people have asked me about my Fuji's cameras with their retro looks. Sometimes they think it's a Leica (not that I wouldn't want to have one some day). Pick a camera system that makes you want to shoot..and/or for the job that's required.
That’s so cool! That’s great to hear. Definitely enjoy my Fuji recipes haha make taking everyday photos a lot easier and fun to post on social media without worrying too much haha but yea I feel you on the Leica. I’d get one if it didn’t cost so much 😂 one of my clients got one as a first camera because she got told it was a great starter camera 🙃

With Fuji I can comfortably go weeks with out editing photos or videos beyond say cropping, adding a touch of contrast (or other very minor edits), grading a specific high contrast scene I purposely shoot in log because I don’t trust I can properly expose without multiple takes, etc.
i.e. fuji achieves 2 things for me, it saves me time and makes me feel more creative by freeing me of hours of editing. Sony did none of that for me. They are great tools no doubt but just not for me anymore.
I feel you on that! I honestly haven’t edited really any photos on my Fuji unless I need like a raw photo to edit for a certain thing. I honestly just use the recipes haha that’s my main purpose with that camera. Just to shoot and enjoy without worrying about the edit.
I've been digging the stories from your Fuji! What's recipes are you using?

Im 15 and i just wanted a camera to start taking pictures and small vlogs i also really want to learn more about cameras and editing. thats why i got a sony camera so that i can start from the bottom and really learn everything and bring that knowledge with me. recently got a new sony a6400, currently learning about iso, aperture, shutter speed and editing and stuff. its a pretty good begginer camera especially when you really want to learn about cameras, saving up for a sigma lens right now!:)

The a6400 is suuuuch a good camera. I’m pretty sure you’ll be happy with it for a very long time (unless you do find yourself wanting a different system that "feels" different). A lot of people discount cameras like the a6400 because it’s a few years old and APS-C, but in an A/B test, most people would be hard pressed to tell the difference to a more current fullframe camera. Yea you hit the nail on the head in the beginning, and its something thats normally hard to describe but its the photographer and how that person shoots, the mood and look you want when you shoot. I love the look of Fuji cameras as I'm more into videography/ cinematography than photography but as a amateur/ hobbyist, I cant afford to dive into Fuji's eco-system. Got a Sony and got a couple lenses for it but I still couldn't get that "look". It took some toggling but some ND and polarizing filters gives a diffused, less sharp look, which I'm fine with as the sharpness can be added later,
I put Fuji in the same category as Leica as both color science sets them apart from the other brands in my opinion. Almost like any picture taken with either camera looks like it came from a magazine.

I have been a Sony shooter for years and currently use the a7iv. I tend to use the Sony for when i need a more professional look or want to capture sports or movement. Once i got my x100v i realized how enjoyable it is to not focus so much on the gear and just enjoy taking pictures. I do agree it can be a chore sometimes to edit photos on my Sony as oppose the the fuji film recipes. I take my x100v everywhere with me.
I Can totally see that! Definitely enjoy my Fuji a lot honestly haha helps me just feel creative in a different way!
what camera did you use to record this? there is banding in the sky. I am using a studio monitor so dont think it is my fault

I have an A7IV and XE-4 and I love them each for the different purposes they serve me. Honestly though, for carry around photography, the little Fuji is a complete blast

I'm just coming back to photography after about seven years out, so I'm starting again with a new system. The first camera I hired to try was an A7iv with 24-70 f2.8GM. Then I hired a Fuji X-H2 with the 16-55 f2.8 red label. The performance from both cameras was amazing and there are definitely pros and cons of each, but for me, I felt like I had to tweak every shot I took with the Sony, whereas with the Fuji, I pretty mush shared everything SOOC. As you say in your video, I wasn't worrying about it - I was enjoying capturing the moment. That for me is what's more important. With two young kids taking up a load of my time I don't want to be sat in from of Lightroom for hours on end (not that I'd get the opportunity to do so anyway!).
So I bought an X-H2. Then I hired an OM-1, and man that's now got me thinking! The OM-D colours are stunning, and whilst they don't have actual film sims, they have their own ART setting which are pretty much the same.Add in the computational elements (live ND filter etc) and how light the system is too (the OM-D+12-40 f2.8 PRO is 650g lighter than the A74iv+24-70 f2.8 GM), and I'm sorely tempted to jump ship!

How did you manage to get such good HDR on your intro in the forest? What camera did you use? Looks amazing!!! Although lacks a bit of brightness but maybe this is because we can't see HDR on youtube
I use the a7siii for video! And shoot in slog3 to get the most dynamic range I can get!

@@user-tr6lg8vw5w I would look at the Fuji cameras that are made more for video centred style because then you can get the most dynamic range. Your camera can allow and definitely shoot and log footage because it’ll give you the most dynamic range to colour grade. that’s what I do with my Sony cameras and especially shoot in 10 bit 4:2:2 it’ll let you colour grade a lot smoother!
I've had a a7s2 a7r3 since its release and a a7s3, they have been my paid gig cameras, and my x100v is with me 24/7

I think so! Don’t get me wrong Fuji raw are great too but definitely their JPEGs are superior. Sony raw are very versatile and love the full frame cameras of theirs.
I'm between the a6700 and the Fuji xs-20, i would love to get a fuji... But as a first camera, i need a camera for work and pay off the thing without and endless debt, hopefully i get a good old used fuji to get those looks someday hsadhad
I mean i am selling my xs10 with the 18-55 f2.8-4 😉😎 only reason I’m selling it is cause I have a Fuji xe4 that does all the recipes like the xs10 but smaller in size and since I don’t need the video specs since I got my Sony cameras then I’m good haha but definitely recommend getting a Fuji cause those recipes are a fun time!

Yea I can agree! Although I’ve been testing some Sony film simulations to see if there’s a way to do what Fuji can or as close to it.
@@EasyTigerCreative There is also a huge community with Fuji users putting together recipes that tweak the current simulations for instant results. I think its called Fuji X weekly.

Might be time to ditch the Fuji and pick up a nice used Q2. I had the 100V and don’t miss it at all compared to the Leica.
But that price tag difference is wild though haha but the Q2 reporter edition i think looks nice!
I thought i was the only one feeling the way you explained … about when you hold the Fuji you see things different and you take a photo of the weirdest thing and it will look good and it’s true that when you’re and I’m one of them , when i go out with my Sony i look too hard to capture the trophy photo and when i shoot fuji now xt50 I’m more inspired and hyped to go out and shoot . I have a a7cii , Sony a7rv and now Fuji xt50 . Sony i have 50mm and above lenses and Fuji i shoot with 33, 18-50 and 10-18

That’s awesome to hear! Looks like you have an awesome setup! I actually picked up an a7cii recently and it’s helped me feel a bit more like shooting Fuji to a certain degree and as well a gfx 50sII. Just feels good to vary it up to stay creative and enjoy both worlds with both companies.
@@EasyTigerCreative I also picked a sony 6600 because i like the tilt screen rather than flip out and it's more compact. bought 3 lense and it feels awesome in hands and motivates me to shoot more.

For those into audio. Basically, Sony cameras are the equivalent to studio monitor headphones. While Fuji is equivalent to v-shaped sound signature IEMs.
I'm in the Fuji camp because I've enjoyed the colours coming straight out of camera or the in-camera RAW conversions.
That’s a cool way to put it! But yea definitely the colours straight out of camera from Fuji are hard to beat!

I think with both brands you can do creative and professional Photography. I would never bother with two systems.

nikon also has the picture profile now and you can even download it so it is a lot easier to change. i have both Sony and Fuji, I would say white balance Fuji used to be a lot better, but Sony is catching up now, next phrase is for Sony to fine tune the colors

I like Fuji and use their cameras a lot as they are enjoyable to operate but I also use Sony's and other brands and for some reason cannot see the film simulations in Fuji as being vastly different from Sony's creative looks. To me they don't look anything like film to begin with but rather just different digital looks like any other camera has. They are nice and one of my favorites is Classic Negative but the newer Sony's have just as interesting options but it seems their marketing department hasn't done as a good job as Fuji. Anyway if people enjoy the Fuji simulations that is all that matters.
I do need to mess around with the Sony profiles more for photo! I tend to just use raw on Sony and on Fuji the jpeg and raw to get the simulation and have the raw as a just in case haha
@@EasyTigerCreative Definitely worth it. My favorite among the new ones on the Sony's is the FL Mode. It could be almost from a Fuji camera if that is the look one is after. I find it to give a less digital feel to the photos and like many Fuji sims it requires very little editing, provided you like the look to begin with.
@@Aleksilausti I’m gonna test it out! I saw a guy on insta that used some dudes “recipes” for his a7cii for photos and it looked great so might have to test them out one day!
Interesting perspective. I’m pretty much the target audience for Fuji cameras (not hard to imagine since I also shoot on film and enjoy that a LOT more than shooting digital), but I just don’t want to have more than one camera system... and while Fuji cameras and lenses perform really well objectively, they’re not cheap. Basically the same prices as full frame gear. Which I have, and use professionally. Kinda hard to justify a third pricey camera just for casual shooting. Which is why I bought an A7C as my main camera. think it looks a lot cooler than your typical professional DSLR or mirrorless camera, but it delivers the same high quality. I will admit though that Fujifilm cameras feel better in the hand. Guess you can’t have everything. :(

@@rickbiessman6084 Fuji is just different in my eyes, specially getting the cameras that have that nostalgic feel to them, makes you feel artsy and creative like if you had to slow down like you would with a film camera.
Sony is for work. Fuji is for passion.

Just switched from Sony a74 to the Fuji xt5 . Sony is a near perfect machine , Fuji is a paintbrush that takes photos with soul . I haven’t produced photos with Lightroom ever since ~ just with creativity from Fuji’s jpegs.

I have both systems. Fujifilm’s film simulations are overrated. I have multiple Fuji cameras but I tend to reach for my first generation, ten year old, Sony a6000 more often than my Fujifilm X-Pro 3, X100V, or XE-3. I love holding and using the Sony and never feel less creative. I think it’s not the gear, it’s the mindset and building on your photographic skill set. Just take time to go out, shoot what makes you happy, and have fun. Just my two cents.
Yea I can definitely understand that! I mean everyone will have different experiences and thoughts but all that matters is that your gear makes you want to go out and create!
