Welcome to Colombia
Colombia is the only country in South America that has a coast in the Pacific (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pacific...) and the Atlantic (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlanti..., therefore, it has more than 70 islands that are highly visited by tourists in Colombia.
The largest island is the Archipelago of San Andrés, Providencia and Santa Catalina in the Atlantic Ocean (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Archipe..., this is the insular region of Colombia (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Insular.... There it is worth visiting Providencia (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Provide..., an island with some of the most beautiful beaches in Colombia.
Around Cartagena there are also several islands, such as Barú (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isla_Barú). If you want to enjoy a day at the beach in Cartagena, I recommend going to the nearby islands to have a quiet day in the Caribbean. Another good plan near Cartagena is to rent a yacht and go to Rosario Islands (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosario....
Also in the Caribbean is the most crowded island in the world, Santa Cruz del Islote (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santa_C...) in the Archipelago of San Bernardo (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Archipe....
In the Colombian Pacific you can visit islands such as Malpelo (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malpelo...) and Gorgona (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gorgona....
