We totally broke the rule. Please forgive us. BUT I think the end of the video makes up for it... 😂😂😂
No hard feelings! Was just weird cause it's a rule you always seem very serious about so not even having it mentioned there felt odd, but it doesn't make the video bad in any way ^^ just surprising
R E P O R T E D A N D U B S U B B E D
That ending was hilarious!
Great job 👍
You broke the rule. Then me.
The end of the video makes of for pretty much of what happened this year. Comedy gold.
Kudos to the dude testing out the chorus in the background while the boys were in the store. Sounded awesome!
It sounded like purple rain
@@tfeerick It was! lol
California vibes? Aren't they Canadian?
Ya... Ajax, Ontario is no California.
Yeah, they're from Ajax
Yeah, but they were a big part of the california punk scene in the late 90s.
i literally came into the comments to post this very thing. haha
How to sound like Sum 41:
Step 1 - way too many Bovine Sex Club shows.
PS: For punky nostalgia vibes, Sound Like The Offspring!
Fun fact: daves PRS is actually an early pre production tremonti
SilentHunter981 and now he uses strats with stacked single coils
@@slayerdude10 He plays a few guitars, including a semi hollow S2 SC, still a PRS guy
He finally has and Artist Custom that ISN'T routed with a neck PU! Of course is a solid off brown colour 😂
Steven Chabot but i see him playing only Stacked Strats now 🤔
As someone who turns 30 tomorrow the nostalgia of All Killer, No Filler riffs is giving me a midlife crisis!
its supposed to make you feel 15! now put your hat backwards and hide those bald Spots!
Don't worry about 30 I'm still fine after 40.
54 and still listening pal👍
What happened to the "no someone's sig for someone else's rig" rule?
you beat me to it!
yeah, at least someone else noticed
But if the guy in the band they’re trying to sound like plays someone else’s signature, is the rule called off? Dave plays a Tremonti if I’m not mistaken
@Austin Black but they stated in the Joe Bonamassa video he used a Musicman John Petrucci but they can't use that because no sig for someone else's rig
They actually said in the video (6:50 or so) that the guy they're sounding like plays a Tremonti. If the dude plays a sig and they have one, they have to use it. You can't get closer than the real thing or, in this case, the SE version. Good value on those guitars too. Just an opinion though. Have a wonderful evening!
This is my favourite 'sounds like ****' video' I could never understand why anyone hates on Sum41... their attitude to music is brilliant... play what you want and play what you like x
Their newer music isn’t as good as the originals
@@somekindofmonkeyapprentice8697 but it is not bad
STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN BY BUSTING
Please?
This comment needs more likes
I think it’d be incredibly disappointing because they can’t get their hands on a Dumble
strat, fender amp, generic toob screamer, a dad wallet, and then spend a little on a funny looking hat.
@@THEQueeferSutherland yeah becaues it's that simple
@@randymarsh7898 It kinda is. Strat, TS808, cleanish amp with some hair
Because someone played Purple Rain when you were at the Bassbreaker I'm gonna just put this out there: PRINCE FOR GODS SAKE!
Prince is long overdue. They could even have Danish Pete in like they did for the John Mayer video. I'm pretty sure that DP just lives at Andertons nowadays...
14:10 best moment in the whole video
This is my favourite Sounds Like video you’ve ever done. Not because of the gear or the sound, but because of the banter and the outtakes and the Bea breaking the Matt 😂
Always appreciate the outtakes!
MY LIFE IS BRILLIANT
SOMEBODY’S SIG FOR SOMEBODY ELSES RIG! Good choice though
Joshua James what if that’s the guitar Dave from Sum 41 actually played though? Would you still be offended?
@_Nickoustic_ he probably would
I think I've seen Dave play a PRS Tremonti though
@@_nickoustic_7923 yes
Hands down one of the best videos you all have done. Also had me laughing far too much at the end!
Absolutely nailed it. So enjoyable listening to these old punk pop riffs. Right in the childhood.
Ugh this episode was sick! Great job guys.
You guys were spot on, definitely one of your best episodes.
Killing it with the vids guys! Always enjoy a good “with out busting the bank” 👍🏻
YES! FINALLY! I‘ve waited so long for it and now it‘s time!
You know what? This might just be my favourite episode. Absolutely nailed the tones
Ohh the sound is bang on!! Well done, that brownsound rig is awesome! :D
That end is brilliant, I'll like for sure
I was waiting for this video for so long!!!!
Love this clip! Well played and informative, as usual. AND great fun!!! Keep it up guys! I could listen to your Sum 41 riffing all night and I don't even like them. :) :)
I'm glad you guys have so much fun because once the fun is gone so are the videos
Sound like Mars Volta without busting would be interesting to attempt
Good call
Yes, I would like to see that.
Yeah!
Do it ...some orange amps for a change
@@user-dj5zd9mw5w , , Absolutely, great choice
Ive waited years for this one. Thaaaanks
Oh man hearing these riffs again takes me back. I feel a whole pop punk revival on the horizon for me
thanks for the ep! would love to see a karnivool episode!
Wow! That sounded really good! Well done!
Always forget how killer that Still Waiting riff is.. loving the high school throwback, good vid!
they cut a lot out of the riff out though XD
One of the best episodes of "sounds like" ever. Bit of humanity at the end was beautiful.😅😂😂
Together these contrast so well. Noice work fellas.
Been waiting for this one for awhile actually
I’ve never really considered myself a big Sum 41 fan but this reminded me of so many good drunken nights out and just how catchy those songs are, and you looked like you were having a lot of fun.
Sum 41 legit is one of my favourite all-time bands (particularly DTLI?) and you guys nailed it. Bea's tone especially is just perfect.
You guys really went nuts at the end
This makes me so happy !
So excited for this
Thanks for putting that bit at the end there.
That was a good laugh
Man I'm glad I found this channel. Y'all are cool AF.
Awesome! And great editing.
Looked like loads of fun!
you guys looked like you had sooo much fun and its just wholesome to watch
Great job guys.
FINALLY!!! Love Sum 41 thank you so much!!!
😂Probably the best bloopers yet. Stay frosty Matt
Thank you for putting that at the end. I was laughing hard.
finally some more pop-punk lol i hope these are fun to make
Finally an episode I actually enjoyed
How about "Bush" - the old Sixteen Stone era?
What a great fun episode - good to see you still have so much fun! - And what great value rigs you put together today - great sounds.
Wow guys I think that’s the best sounding guitars you’ve paired together. SOUNDS BLOODY GREAT.... 🤟🤘👍🏼👋
This was surprisingly close. Great job.
I’ve been wanting you guys to do this so this was an awesome surprise, still waiting on Ghost though
Seeing Rabia's face when he was playing was so wholesome. He was having a blast!
I remember being blown away when I first heard Sum 41. I specifically remember the guitar tones on the “Chuck” album being awesome. Actually, their song “The Bitter End” from that same album was one of the first songs I wanted to learn when I started playing guitar and the solo kicked my ass for a while.
This is great. Always loved Sum 41s tones. They're big Soldano ans Bogner fans. Sophistication within an unsophisticated genre.
That pain for pleasure was GREAT 😍🤘🏻🤘🏻
Hands down my favorite so far!
During the harmony guitars - I love seeing Rabea get so into it.
wow, this one is pretty spot on.
Great video guys, I loved Sum 41 when I was younger to, it brought back memories. I'd suggest sound like Amon Amarth without busting and Sabaton without busting. Cheers!
You killed it this time!
Sound like Grateful Dead!
Also John Mayer in Dead and company
Another great one guys! I play nothing that I would call close to Sum 41, but I'd gladly gig with either of those rigs. I'd just have to turn the gain down a bit. They both sound great and they're both quality.
Poor Matt! The room and Bea liked to killed him! That is why you play so well together. You actually enjoy what you do for a living and it shows. Good for you!
You guys seemed to really really enjoy that!
The whole video was great but that ending was a win!
Thank you for cover such masters of tone as sum 41
I commented on the last sound like video and said you guys should sound like "Thrice" and/or "Atreyu" and I just so happen to have seen both of them on tour WITH SUM 41, recently. I think it's a sign. You need to do a sound like Atreyu and a Thrice episode, now. The universe has spoken!!
You guys need to do an Avenged Sevenfold without busting the bank :)
I think they have?
I don't think that Bea can sound like shite...
Yeah !! well done !
Great rigs, but that laughter at the end of the video was really the best xD
Nailed it. That Tele is a BEAUT.
Brilliant episode. Total blast from the past. I feel like a teenager again watching American Pie movies. Thank you Matt and Rabea.
matt in heatsterycs made my week. cheers lads.
Love that James Blunt impression at the end. 😂😂❤️
I think it would be interesting to see a "sound like video" where you guys sit and dial in the tones for the artist, so we can see how much work you guys put into these videos!
I'd love to see you lot do a without busting for Mogwai
hopefully it'll be better than the video on how to sound like "Ultimate Post Rock Rig"
cos that sounded nothing like them, the band called Ultimate Post Rock Rig that is which sucks cos Ultimate Post Rock Rig is my favorite band
I love the included bloopers!! Thanks for the laugh!
Just seen sum 41 .they killed it.and so did you guys
The ending of this vid is one of my favorite things to happen during Sounds Like
Love the snippet of “Pain for Pleasure”!!
This sounds great
Best video yet guys. That bit at the end had me dying 😂
sadly not the best video, they broke the rule of "No signature guitars for someone else's rig"
Just recently came across Mary Spender and through her i came on here.
The first video i watched of you guys... That ending had me laughing tears! Brilliant!
thanks guys - forgot how much i love hell song. much love x
You broke the signature rule...
Yeah, isn't that a Mark Tremonti sig???
@Stan Lee it is
I thought the signature rule only applied to artists in the band they’re trying to mimic?
@blakestone75 the rules state you can't use someone else's signature guitar to sound like another guitarist
and they broke it, they made the rule up on the Limp Bizkit video
Brownsound used someone elses Sig (tremontis) so i think everything is ok
The last 3 and a half minutes were hilarious!
Matt dying of heat delirium at the end was one of the funniest things I've seen all week
This was great. And the end was hilarious. Rebea sounds just like James Blunt! Can you guys do Blink-182 By busting next?
Wow some inspired playing here..!!
Playing these simple riffs still puts a smile on your face, doesn't it, Bea?
J U D A S P R I E S T!! Without busting. Please do it ;)
PS: The Boss Katana is awsome!
Oh yeah second this!
Victim of Changes one of my favorite riffs and song
@@tammycoates7816 Bust that BANK
The boss katana kicks the shit out of most amps on the market, definitely any other amp on the market in the price range.
Actually bought a Boss Katana 50 after seeing y'all use the Katana amps in so many videos, and it's real good, especially for the money
You guys need to add more bloopers like these 🤣🤣🤣
This is such an nostalgia invoker for me. Havent heard a Sum 41 song in a loooong time.
Thank you so much for doing it on Sum 41 ! It’s one of my favorite band since I’m in middle school :D
Sound like Killswitch Engage next
That Tremonti sounds amazing.
