The reason legal options is getting them to back off is because it’s not worth their time and money to go to court about it. They basically want you to take it down but if they think you’ll take them to court, it instantly becomes not worth it. Eventually, a big company may call your bluff though.
It's because they know they're wrong. It's a violation of the constitution to submit fake copyright claims and can be punished by 10 years imprisonment and a fine of $50k. Them retracting a copyright claim is a further violation and is de facto an admission of guilt
I love being a new fan going into the comments of years old videos not understanding the private jokes, then like 2 weeks later i binge watch the whole channel and start to uncover the weird origins of the jokes, its like living life out of place, experiencing small segments, fragments in time

They get scared when you say you’re reviewing your legal options because you actually DID qualify for fair use, and if you were to say, sue the movie company, they would lose to you because you’re legally in the clear.

unfortunately thats not how the law works, its up to the judge to decide if its fair use or not and a lot of people dont have the thousands of dollars it takes to sue
