I started this a month ago, splitting a store bought pineapple crown into 4 pieces, and I already have the beginnings of 5 new plants.(one is producing 2 shoots)
I’m so excited!!! 🤩
I did the same thing but I made the initial head root in water 1st. Then cut it into 4. Currently all 4 are shooting up 1 baby.
@@frankfunke4130 0
@@frankfunke4130 how many months
@@keithvalmonte611 how many months for what? For roots? less than a month. For baby shoots maybe another 2-3 weeks. THey are still smaller plants.
Great!
This. Method is really new to many of us. We.simply throw the 👑. Thanks very much 👍
Thank you man! I've been planting the whole crown but now I can improve it cause of you. Amazing!!!! 💪👍👍😁
What makes me really like this guy is that he's using very very simple tools and equipment. Kudos bro!
I am over 60 years old and I love learning new ways of growing anything, I have been planting the whole pineapple crown my whole life, I have a crown in water right now and when the roots grow, I will cut it into quarters. I'm excited to try this. I also found out today that I can plant the pineapple seeds.
Amazing person and humble at 60 yrs old.
I didn't know pineapples had seeds
@@kitaseymour1 Well, finally, after five months I have two sprouted seeds. They look like teeny, tiny pineapple plants.
@@friedabalavage862 how did you do it? where did you get the seeds from?
@@friedabalavage862 also most plants from seeds don't really make fruits or if they do it's kind of a wild fruit, small and bad teste. wouldn't that be the same for pineapple?
Amazing... I didn't know you could do this. I learned something new because of you.

Seems more Organic organizations . Thank you very much more
Same. My mind has been officially blown.
Best pineapple propagation video I've seen so far. Thank you for the info!
I was today years old when I learned this! thank you very much for Sharing this knowledge with the world
Glad it was helpful!
This is amazing thank you I will try it
I cut a pineapple top into 4 pieces on August 19th . I live in Florida it's been raining alot they looked like they were all dying and today I noticed 2 of the plants have sprouts growing in between the leaves and it's only September 12th!
So happy that I clicked onto your channel! I've never before seen or heard of this method. I DEFINITELY will be using it!
The same here with me..Is such a great knowledge
Life is an ultimate lesson that we learn every day!!!!! Thanks bro!
I would suggest leaving the crown in water for 20 days to get larger roots before splitting it in halves. That can improve the efficiency by reducing the energy required by the plant to grow in the substrate, therefore reducing the growth time a few more days.
Agreed
Why not cut then put the cuttings in water? would there be a difference?
@@frankfunke4130 someone should test
À
I left my 14 pineapple crowns in water to grow roots before I planted them which settled into the soil quickly.
Next time after they grow roots I will separate them in smaller cuttings and then plant them.
Thanks for the info.
I’m glad that I came across your video. You have taught me something I didn’t know. EACH ONE TEACH ONE!🥰
I have been growing pineapples for year and never knew of this method. Thank you for sharing.
That idea to cut the crown into two is really new to me, because i usually plant the whole crown
i do the same thing. now we know.
@@channelhouri4640 into 4
I’ve grown pineapple plants from the crown before. I got one now that’s two years old. But I didn’t even think about splitting the crown. This is great. I can grow more this way.
Does a pineapple plant just keep growing and giving new pineapple year after year like a fruit tree does?
How many pineapple do you get per plant?
How long does it take to get a ripened pineapple from start to finish?
@@flatout5815 my current one is an indoor plant. It may never produce. But I grew them in Hawaii. It took a couple years per plant for them to produce. I had several so I always had one growing fruit.
@@dg-vg9di Thank you. Seems more of a plant for personal pleasure not for sustainability. Think I will pass on trying to grow pineapple and more of other things that produce quicker and more often in my greenhouse like berries and melons.
@@flatout5815 exactly. They are a long term thing. They make beautiful houseplants. Easy maintenance.
@@flatout5815 just 1 per plant… so doing it this way is better for more fruit… yes it is more of a pleasure thing as the plant is quite nice …
An excellent way of propagating several plants from a single crown. Thanks. A idea! God bless you!
