Good to see that you are showing what to get before you start. This is not drop your roll of filament on and start printing - then take it off when done.
@@kerseyfabs I'm really digging the prints at Gambody.com. I think those high detailed prints got me to seek better resolution prints. Im trying to print the dragon from game of thrones and having difficulties with quality. Hoping the resin printer performs better. Im also into airbrushing my prints.
I stopped using IPA because it was too hard to find locally. I tried Simple Green and am pretty happy with it. It has low oder, a lot safer, and it's a lot cheaper than IPA as well. Plus it seems to clean the prints just as well. The only down side is the green color to the liquid, instead of being clear.
I haven't been able to find nitrile gloves anywhere all summer. One hardware store actually laughed when I asked if they had any. I finally just found some at the CVS drug store but they were about double the price of the hardware store.
Do you think a resin printer would compliment a fdm printer? I'm thinking of getting one based off the high detail. Im wondering if it would perform better with smaller more detailed parts that im having a hard time printing with filament. Or it could be user error.
Yes, absolutely! That's how I plan to use it initially. I'd like to print some of the smaller, high-detail parts in resin while still using FDM for the larger and functional parts.
I'll be happy to take a look at various resins as long as there's interest. I know a lot of folks have been recommending Siraya Tech lately. When you mention casting resins, do you have a link to some options?

I wish you good luck with this Kris. Personally I am too lazy and can't be bothered with the whole process from start to finish. I know you can get much better detailed miniatures but in my oppinion it is very expensive compared to FDM printing and I don't think anyone could change my mind despite many pictures people have shown me comparing Resin to FDM miniature prints. Either way I will still watch any videos you make on resin printing :)
Thanks Tony! I have some specific needs for the machine that will make my life a lot easier and make some new things possible. I'll be honest about the difficulties and if it's worth it.
Great video Chris. I’d like to know which resin printer you’ve decided to have your first experience with and if you have an affiliate link. I guess its coming in future videos? Great work. Thank you
Thanks! I'm going with the Creality LD-002R. In full disclosure, it's because they provided it to me. 😀 But, in all honesty, it's an extremely well made printer and has terrific features for the price. I will do my usual full review of it before I pass any judgement on it one way or the other. I just added the information below to the description for future reference. @@dnbvet No problem. I will not be testing the CR-6 SE BUT I will be reviewing the CR-6 SE Max! I didn't need another small format printer but I jumped at the larger model.
Micro SD to SD Card Extension Cable Adapter I tried two brands of Micro SD to SD Card Extension Cable Adapter on my Ender 3 and none of them work, the Printer micro SD card slot works fine without the adapter but once I use the adapter printer can not see the card at all. I used one of the adapters on my Ender 2 so I know it works fine. Anyone else had this problem??
I actually have a lot of that in the wings. In fact, I have 3 resin printers now I need to go through in a video. There will be a full story soonish. Thanks for the interest.
Hey, I appreciate the comment and you clicking through. Stick around for the content you like and feel free to skip the stuff you're not interested in. I'm a maker and tinkerer first. The tools are a lot of fun to tinker with but I want to use them to make stuff in the long run. Different tools for different jobs.
Kersey Fabrications, I really like your way of tinkering and making stuff so please carry on. I realize my comment can be interpreted as harsh and judging... sorry for that - english is not my first language ;-) thank you for your videos - I have learned a lot from them.
@@CmdrFlemming Thanks for clearing that up.. It did sound negative, but do understand your view. I am mostly interest in the 5 Plus also, but want to learn more about resin printing. It scares me and I'm happy with good old filament
@CMDR Flemming No problem and thanks for watching. If I can just keep up the schedule, they'll be plenty of content for everyone! Ah, never enough time.

That's how my brain works, get prepped then get started. I hope this makes it easier to get going for anyone considering it.
Nice thumbnail! Excellent video! Lots of great tools for resin printing
Thanks Jessy! I appreciate you taking a look!
So I ordered the printer and most of the items you added here using your links. Looking forward to following you with this resin printer.
Awesome! I hope you enjoy your new printer! What kinds of things do you plan on printing with it?

thank god. i just bought a printer. this is a life saver
Great timing!
This looks safe enough to use inside a small hobby room of my appartment. I am picky about 3D printers over safety, odor and fire risks.
It's safe but I'd make sure you have windows in case you need to ventilate the space.

Great video. It really reduced my anxiety about getting into resin printing.
Nice of you to say. I hope the review goes well and we can all feel more comfortable.
I'm waiting for the Elegoo Saturn to come out later this year. Very helpful video to prepare! Thank you! Glad I found your channel!
Thanks Juan! I'll have more content on resin printers coming soon.
I made my curing oven out of an empty paint can lined with foil tape and LEDs. The can, tape, and lights all cost under $20.
Awesome video Chris! Been looking at some of the resin printers the last few weeks. This definitely got me going in the right direction! :)
I'll glad I could help. I'm in the process of running test prints now. I'll have more information on the Creality LD-002R next week!
super cool. I have the ender 5 plus and its great but I want to get into higher res printed busts. Looking forward to your resin prints
Thanks for checking it out. The complete look at the printer will be out soon!

What printer u use to print the thing at the back
Which thing are your talking about?
Sweet now I don’t have to fellow someone else for my resin printer research . Would u consider siraya tech resin videos ? Or some casting Resins?

I'm all over this! I've never done it before but it would be terrific for casting all sorts of things in metal.
