    I think you should get screen protectors for both the main LCD and the control screen

    Cheap pickle jar with strainer! I use it for a phase one clean straight out of the printer to wash the bulk of the resin off before going into the wash and cure station. I find it keeps the wash station IPA cleaner for longer. Also helps IPA last a lot longer as a much smaller amount is getting saturated.

      Nice tip! Definitely going to have to try this.

      Totally agree - a small tub of IPA as a pre wash keeps my main IPA for the wash and cure going far longer!

    Last night my first printer (elegoo mars 3) was delivered to my house … I’m stoked … I’ve been watching your videos at work and appreciate your quick and easy to digest videos!

      @@GrayScalpMiniatures well, didn’t go as planned … my mars 3 apparently has an issue where the build plate won’t stop lowering and couldn’t set “home” … looked into it all weekend to find out the only real way to fix it is to replace the board cuz the sensor itself isn’t the issue. Such a shame. Retuning this today and back on the hunt for another printer

      @@thevosk Damn, you had the same issue I had with my first one. My exchange unit worked perfectly, but the first one had that issue and I just thought it was me going mad.

    I am now awaiting my first 3d printer. Trying to find anything that could be helpful. I was wondering on the fumes. I don't have a lot of space. I was thinking of getting a semi small mylar grow tent to put the printer inside of with an inline fan to blow the fumes out the window. It would have the added benefit of blocking the day light too.

      That's a good plan. My printers are all in a grow tent now and that helps with temperature control and containing the smell. Maybe even throw in an air purifier to help.

    Do you ever use water washable resin? If so, as a Brit, how to you dispose of the contaminated water?

    • @GrayScalpMiniatures
      @GrayScalpMiniatures  2 года назад +1

      I used it a couple of months back to review how I found it. To get rid of the water I poured it into jars and left it in the sunlight to cure the resin and allow the water to evaporate. I guess the problem is that we've had crazy hot weather so that's not going to work at other times.

      @@GrayScalpMiniatures thanks. I’ve now got 5 2 litre bottles of resin filled water I need to decide what to do with! Maybe the sun might hold out for a little longer!

    A better mask is a safety essential - the surgical mask that comes with Anycubic printers isn't going to offer much protection!
    Although a wash & cure is "optional" it totally transforms the 3D printing experience, to the extent that I'd strongly recommend it to anyone new to the hobby when they get their printer. Borderline "essential" to make printing fun 👍

      Absolutely agree with the wash and cure thing. Made my 3D printing hobby fun rather than an absolute chore.
