We just spent a week in the hills in North Carolina with our Napier truck tent. We like to put it together on the ground and then lift it onto the truck bed. We would also lift it off intact and leave it at the campsite if we wanted to go somewhere in the truck. It was SO easy!!
That’s great idea Jodi. Probably a touch easier to do on ground level for sure. Great tip!!
My kids got older and don't want to hang out with dad anymore. Sold the camper. I'm going to get one of these and go alone. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome. My kids are just old enough to move out of the home as well. Life styles changed a little bit for sure. Nice to find hobbies that are new as well.
Thank you for showing how easy it is to pull this out of the bed of the truck. I didn’t know you could just leave it put together on the ground. I thought you had to take the whole system down to drive the truck. Convinced me to get one. Thank you! Great video!!
You’re welcome Kim 👍
Same bought one today because of this
I was going to ask when ya leave do ya brake down the tent but no just pull it out and drop it cool thanks for video
My wife and I finally sold our last trailer. Family and friends entranced with $200-500K RVs and 'camping' in parking lots. We used to tent camp a lot, me not desiring a tent in the dirt anymore. But I still have my truck with a 6.5 foot bed plus tailgate. I'll check this company out, might really be fun. Thanks!
Nice product, thanks for sharing.
I had a 2007 Chevy Avalanche. I bought one for it and loved how easy it was to set up. When I moved on each day I just pulled out 'stays" and let it collapse into bed of truck and reinserted as I arrived at new camp spot. Well worth the money. Nice video........
If I owned a pickup truck that tent would be a wonderful necessity. Also your wife is a smart woman...let you do all the hard work.
haha. yes!! We had a great time overall👍
Thanks for showing tent set up so good -mine arrives tomorrow
This is neat idea,it makes it easier to move with less taking down time, helps if there is a sudden emergency and the need to move on,have a great time!!!!!! Be safe and careful.
Great Video! I have a Napier that I bought right before I bought our small RV. After seeing your video may leave RV at home and take Truck and tent. Only used once!
It was soo cool, great guys you'll did not get wet.👌👌👌
We have an RV but this camper tent is very nice ! It’s Beautiful where you , your wife and dog are camping!🌲
I've been hemming and hawing for a while now on these tents... This might be what finally makes me pull the trigger on one. Glad it rained so you could report in how the tent did! 👍🏻 Another great video. Thanks for sharing.
No problem. Have used it since this video and enjoying it more and more👍
Get a gazelle tent don’t waste your money on this thing.
@@robertottwell605 Gazelle? Ok but for the money I quite like this product.
Looks like a great setup!,
i dont know whether its your calming voice or the fact your from nfld but i just ordered the same tent today and booked my passage to the boat in north sydney.have friends in cornerbrook that i miss dearly.this is going to be EPIC. thanks brother,oh by the way im from nova scotia way and have been trucking 25 years but never got to the ROCK.we gone.
We love NS. Always a treat to go visit family there (Antigonish and kentville) beautiful province with great people.
Thank you for including the rain footage, wife and I are considering buying a tent like y’all’s. Yours was the only video that had any rain reference included in the review. Appreciate it. Happy Travels. J&C
Hi, saw your video and enjoyed it so much that I bought one for a Titan full-size bed 8.2 ft bed. I carry a lot of equipment with me for SAR, so I built a trailer for my tent to fit on and really enjoy it. Thanks for your video. Great tent and works like no other. Thanks again
I bought the 8.5 feet long and set it up in my 10 ft long utility trailer. It’s wonderful! I unhook the trailer and go for my trail rides with Jeep. Love it!
I actually was watching this video because had the same idea of putting it on a utility trailer. Now I know it possible
nothing better then sleeping in a tent and hearing the rain, good thing there wasn't thunder or lightning the lightning would of woke you up even more. good video chuck hope you used that tent lots this summer.
We love it. I just received a “special” something for it that I can’t wait to show everyone. Ps. I Filmed this weekend and tried that special thing you sent me. Will be featured on the next video😉👍
@@ChuckPorterEverythingOutdoors cant wait to see next video :)
My hubby and I have this tent. In fact We just got home from a weekend of camping in it. The two of us plus 2 small dogs we are super comfy and dry and off the ground. So glad we decided on this company.
Excellent!! Glad to hear👍
I have one for my 8 ft. Bed. Only used once. It was fun and great with no problems or rain. Thanks for sharing this video.
You're welcome Mark. Tks for tuning in buddy👍
I have same tent. It's easier to assemble it on the ground then put it in the bed.
I thought the same thing especially when they took it off to leave the campground
Omg I just learnt that this past weekend!
Great tent! I have one too.
I have a few things to think about in your set up.
Do the straps closest to the cab first because that gap between the tent and the front of the box shouldn't be there and allow rain in.
If you can help it keep the cab end of the box higher than the tailgate. This is to allow any rain (if any) to exit the box so it doesn't pool underneath you. (The floor of the tent could seal off the drain holes in the front of the box.)
If you keep your head at the cab end you won't have any blood rushing to your head and have a better sleep, plus the view out that big screen door is amazing when you wake up and all you need to do is scooch down and hang your feet off the tail gate.
I hope you enjoy and happy camping together!!
yes i found out that i should have brought the tent forward right to the back of the cab of the truck, which would then cause any rain to run off away from the pan of the truck. Thanks so much for your input!!👍
I used one of these and used to sleep with my head toward the tailgate. But on one excursion a grizzly came onto our site, reached in and tore my head clean off. Good thing my wife was able to sew it back on with her sewing kit. Unfortunately in the dark and panic, she put it on backwards. Now I have to walk backwards all the time. But that’s my wife’s fault, not the tent’s. NFLD looks nice. It reminds me very much of Northern Ireland.
Funny that the reviews for this tent state that it's garbage and there's no customer service.
That's cool. I live in the northwest and this is just what the doctor ordered.
I agree! It's great medicine!👍
Ive camped 4 times in my Napier tent. It keeps the rain and dew out pretty good.
We love our truck tent for when we are not in canoe trips!
I didn’t see another one on our travels across the island of Newfoundland (over 5000 kms). I’m expecting to see more in the future though. Tks again sally 👍
I have one for the past 3 years and love it.
Glad to hear this! Thanks for letting me (and the other viewers) know!👍
Great video! I’m getting one. Thank you!
I actually own one of these and never used it and then bought a travel trailer. I still like the fact that I have it through. :)
It is really worth giving a try👍
Looks very cozy and it keeps you off the ground. No sleeping on rocks or having a snake slither under your tent. That's great that it is easy to remove. Where I camp, I'll take off to go to one of the nearby lakes or to a bar/restaurant a few miles away. (Detracts from the 'roughing it' aspect a bit, I know)
Great vlog Chuck, thanks. Love the sound of rain on a tent, as long as it stays outside.
Yes sir that’s for certain. I’ve had enough mornings whereby I wake in the morning to find water pooled in the corner of the tent.
Perfect for Hawaii
Looks like FUN TIMES
Absolutely Kathy. We certainly enjoyed our holiday 👍
We have one. Used a real materess in ours. But couldnt take out of truck bed. Only problem we had. Tent was great.
I’ve since bought the AIRBEDZ mattress. Custom fit for the truck. The best! Nice and cool in the smmmertjme as well👍
Nice tent, i already have one since 3 years now, it is great i use it for hunting, even i have a 25 feet trailer but i found this one more faster and easy, i use an inflatable matress for my truck bed ,
Thanks for sharing
Thanks buddy. I’ve since gotten the blow up mattress from Pittman outdoors as well. Fantastic setup 👍
Great video. Look forward to getting myself one of those tents. Thank you for the demonstration 👍🏼
this tent is much better, light weight, easy to carry, can be used as ground tent as well. better than those expensive fixed tents
Nice tent for the truck, looks cozy to me. I like hearing the rain. Thanks for sharing.
Tks nancy👍
I have the right line gear truck tent because it doesn’t have a bottom and I have drawers in my bed, but I enjoy the truck bed tents. Hope you enjoy yours.
We really enjoyed our holiday and will definitely be one of our favourite tents to use in the future👍
I have a truck tent that I purchased at least 20 years ago. It kept us warm enough as we camped up above where we live in the Sierra Nevada mountains.
Excellent 👍. Nice to know they are good for durability. And I didn’t realize they were made so many years ago. Tks for sharing
Great video! Just bought one of these to do some overnight quick getaways. THANKS
ty sharing hav fun
BRAVO YOU GUYS, I'M FOR YA'LL. BEAUTIFUL TENT, SCENIC SURROUNDINGS AND WONDERFUL TIME. IT'S BEEN A VERY LONG TIME SINCE I'VE BEEN DOING THOSE HAPPY THINGS. KEEP DOING WHAT YOU ARE DOING. BLESS YOU ALL. BYE FOR NOW. 😁
Lucky dogs,!! Thank ya
Great scenery, also had one of those tents a couple years back and was very impressed with the quality and rain worthy design.
Good to hear. We are impressed with ours thus far👍
Nice. Love the dog.
I did the same thing,,, kinda
Tarp a 4 foot long stick (padded both ends) to hole tarp up.
4 inches of sand that sat in the sun all day, leveled. Opened sleeping bag over sand add pillows & blankets. Warm and comfy all night
My old truck bed tent had a nice canopy
Good video.. simple n fun. 👍👍👍
Love the tent. Beautiful area you are in. Your a blessed man Chuck. Glad to see you don’t take it for granted. Someday I am going to make the trip to see that country. Keep up the video’s. They are great. Thanks for sharing
Thanks Todd. I really do feel blessed. 👍
I would love this truck tent for my Tacoma it looked really well made and sturdy thank you for sharing the video God bless
Thanks Jorge👍
Newfoundlanders are the nicest people around. They will literally give you the shirt off their back.
True words Scott!!!👍
Looks funky.
Concise and well edited.
Thanks Barbara. It’s a great tent for sure. 👍
Wholesome Canadian vid my friend. Good work!
Nice video, the fact that it can be easily set on ground, is why i have one being shipped now. Looking forward to trying it out. Beautiful scenery, thanks for sharing.
Great tent! Looks very handy, perfect for staying off the ground.
Yes she’s the best kind! Love it’s ease and very practical 👍
New tent thank you ❤
Had my Napier truck tent over a year.
I did replace the poles with aluminum poles. Makes a huge difference.
Good to know-Tks for tuning in with a tip👍
Good 👍
Thanks for doing this setup video. Planning on picking one of these tents up this year. Didn't know you could remove it while set up!
Pretty sure you can move the whole tent closer to the cab so the front of the truck box isn’t exposed. Loved ours. Great vid sir
You’re absolutely right. I discovered this after the first set of nights in it 👍
@@ChuckPorterEverythingOutdoors hey Chuck...I have one of these...love it. Ya as suggested move the tent forward so that the rain runs over the front of the box. I've had rainy nights in Haliburton Ontario and was totally dry inside. As with all tents I added extra waterproofing.
Love the videos.
Dan.
Thanks Dan. I’ve been using it pulled to the front ever since. Really enjoy it👍👍
I had one of these tents and we slept through an 8 hour night of rain. Everyone else went home, we were totally dry, but you have to have it moved up towards the cab.
I have recently bought a truck tent also and love it! I decided to go with Kodiak Canvas. Been in several rain storms with the canvas and its nice to be high and dry off the ground. Canvas was a little more $$ but worth it. It's much tougher then the cheap tent material with the big fat YKK zippers. Plus kodiak comes with solid durable metal poles not flimsy fiberglass ones. Love the video chuck. Stay dry
Great comment!👍. Good specs you gave and I bet it’s very good handiwork. Thanks for sharing👍
I checked out the canvas tent also so cool so i got one.
I watch a lot of your videos this is a very good 1 too
Nice demo, tent seems to live up to its description. Definitley one to consider
Good morning from northern ontario. Nice tent .
i had one of these, and then i upgraded to a rooftop tent. Absolutely no comparison. Although these are better than being on the ground, they aren't very convenient.
Great video Chuck, glad to see you, the Mrs. & Willo sharing your camping trip with us. That tent looks pretty slick. I would think a little more comfortable up off the ground. Especially on those wet nights.
Absolutely Victor. We have nothing but praise for the tent. Good to hear from you sir👍
Great idea . Great show ..thank you
You’re welcome Ron 👍
Looks like a great tent. Enjoy
Yes sir. Worked out great Jody. Hope all is well with you bud👍
Chuck Porter - Everything Outdoors can’t complain. Lol. Weather is wicked hot!!
I've been curious about these tents...avoids any water going under the tent I'm sure.... the sound of the birds in the morning. So Nice!
Absolutely bud. Had one of your tunes incorporated into the video but it didn’t render through! Next time for sure👍
@@ChuckPorterEverythingOutdoors I plan to make a few more for you!
That’s an awesome camping set up. Perfect for staycationing
Worked well for us Mark. We will be back home tomorrow. Great staycation for us. Very grateful👍
Hi Chuck. Loved it so much I just went out and bought one myself at Canadian Tire. I'll try it out in Square Pond in a couple of weeks. Thanks for the great video on how to set it up.
Best kind....I worked into Square Pond Park back in the day when I worked with Provincial Parks...beautiful spot. Enjoy the tent!!👍
Wow that’s really look fun😊
It’s a great little getaway in a cool setting 👍 🏕️
Lloyd and Bryce would be some proud ol’ man
Lol. Only a few of us would know what a Great show that was back in the day. 👍👍
That tent setup is so cool I am getting one for my GMC canyon .😃
I know you’ll enjoy👍👍
That truck tent is awesome. Don't have to worry about the creepy crawlies on the ground, and it looks like it may be a little sturdier than a tent on the ground.
Absolutely Michael. And no hidden obstacles poking in your back in the middle of the night👍
Thanks for sharing, been looking into one of these. Seeing you pull it out without having to take it down probably just made up my mind. Thanks!
Tks. Hope you enjoy!👍
That’s a great setup. Looks like a good idea to have on the truck all the time
A wonderful invention. Really impressed. A good outfit for most any occasion 👍
Mine rides in the back seat of my truck full time, Have tent will travel
Definitely make sure the truck bed drain holes are clear.
Right
good truck tent
I too have been curious about these tents. Just might have to try one. Another great video! Thanks for taking me along. 👍
Tks Jim. I’ve been quite impressed with it. I like the ease of setup 👍
I've been looking at these for a while and your video convinced me to take the plunge. Thanks
Very nice product Chuck.
Tks Martin👍
I recently bought this tent for my short bed Nissan. The first time setting up, by myself, it took about 15 to 20 minutes. the second time, took about 10 minutes...it is very a simple, well thought out tent.
Watching this video, I am a little confused. They come in different sizes, for different truck bed lengths, and I am not even suggesting that Chuck has the wrong size tent for his truck, but the one I bought, specifically for my truck, did not have the gap, on the "cab end" of the bed, that he had. Mine fit right over the end of the bed, all the way around, so no water would get into the bed itself.
I wouldn't think that the way his tent fit the bed, that it is ideal for staying dry...I like the way mine fit a lot better.
Can you send a link of the tent you got for ur Nissan Frontier. What year is ur truck and how do you like it
The 57 series napier has less of a gap between the cab and the tent I also have a smaller napier for colder camping that one does have a gap I can actually access my truck cab through the 57 mesh with maybe a 3 " gap but both tents work very good enjoy
nice truck tent, I haven't seen anyone set one of those tents up before looks very roomy and easy to put up, hope you and the family are having a wonderful trip to the rock, stay safe
Tks Elwood! 👍
I have the napier sport, use it on my 2013 tacoma...love the tent. Only problem was the arched pole for entrance. Way too long ,broke 3xs. I just cut 2 of the poles in half and has worked fine....One thing I did was buy and cut to size outdoor carpet for truck bed. Easy to roll up and store away but makes a bit differance. Comfort wise and easier on tent base. Great video and enjoy the outdoors. It's Gods blessing to us. 🇺🇸
Thanks for your comments and for tuning in 👍
Hey Chuck,
What a great video. Love scenery by the water. I was curious about those tents. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome tent for a ute. Great video
Thanks👍
Nice set up.
Tks again Lonnie👍
Thank q bro, i like it... From Brunei
Put an old moving blanket or similar between tent and truck bed.saves wear on the floor and provides insulation.
Yes that's a fabulous idea! Tks!!👍
I have one, blue. Like it. The ground companion tent leaks where you combine the two.
We are impressed with ours thus far. Hopefully it stands the test of time👍
Picked up the wifes new truck today and orderded a tent hopefully she fits
Wow...exciting times!! Enjoy my friend👍
Great tent...nice..I like...👍👍👍
It really is a great product. 👍
The v shape straps goes on each corner of your truck.neer the cab, its to keep the tent from moving foword. Nice video and i hink i am going to buy one. Thanks for sharing.
Yes I figured that out that on the next trip!! Tks though for tuning in!!👍👍
very cool tent... the only thing I feel it is missing is some sort awning would be cool
Yes that would definitely be a great addition 👍
Thank,you for sharing.
Tks jessie
Great looking set-up there Chuck. Glad you didn't get wet
You and me both sir!! Just got home last night from our excursions. I notice you have a new video up. Will take a peek today👍
