Makes me miss my '83 RD125LC, which like this one was unrestricted. I thought it was lightning fast back then, being 16 years old and having only ridden mopeds before this one. Now of course I realize it was never very fast, not even compared to a modern day sedan in the US, but that didn't matter at all to me. I loved it, and I rode shit out of it.
I had a 1985 mk1 and they were then 33kw unrestricted mine was clocked just touching 78mph downhill and about 73 up hill on a private rd yes these were really quick the honda nsr 125 and kawasaki ar 125 were not as good or popular the suzuki rg125 gamma that was not far off but not as popular...when you say sedan usa youve got us all stumped i thought that was a car anyway the 2 stroke uk market in 80s were a very big market and popular
+rosh co I bought one last summer. :P Got it for around the equivilent of 300 USD. Had to check and reconnect every damn wire and repair the dashboard. Also got a problem with air/fuel blend, somewhere in the last 15+ owners air box broke and the hose to the box was lost. So i haven't really been opening it up or riding much, as she gets to much air on the open filter i have now.. But if i find an airbox and the associated parts, i'll have the engine 100% original, registered as unrestricted and working
A really good bike very popular back in 80s these were the best made mk1 were quick reliable and better than mk2 or at least equal this one sounds sweet great days
Its junk? Mk 2 and a mk 3 are better then a mk 1? Mk 3 was best ypvs engine and not a induction engine like mk1 and 2 had? I had a tzr 125. Left rd 125 for dust
In those days you were in two maybe three camps these were RD/DT Lcs, Honda MBX/MTX Lcs, Susuki RG/TS Lcs, kawasaki AR/TMX. All were fast with so many mods exhausts filters jets sprockets weight reduction. I was a Honda mbx125lc fully moded up got it up to 92 mph my mates RD125LC did 102mph know shit...
Just bought my wife one of these to play on. What were the restriction in these (exhaust, intake etc) and how do you go about taken them off. Thanks GGB
+Ginger Geordie Biker 32mm flat side carb/ported reed block/reed stops opened out/squish set to 0.96mm/racing spark plug/also port the exhaust port and main inlet port/tzr piston kit
No idea how too look after a classic bike? Instead reving balls off it from cold? Use choke? Wrong tank? Off mk2? Wrong bars. Screwing arse off it constantly you have the engine sat in a cardboard box before you can say BANG
Never forget the sound of an rd 125lc! Brings back my teen years 😁

No wear near good as mk 2.? That one sounds like got a valve on it? Don't think it was a energy induction engine, like mk 1 should have
MK2 engine
Unusual colour system mk1 mixed with mk2 tank. Exhaust sounds great

Question>? Why is the oil light not on when in neutral? It should be on but when in gear go out if no oil needed....
I stuck a 180cc kit on mine and had a Stan Stevens pipe on it. Fully faired too
Did it go BANG? LOL
very nice bike

Relax its a 2 stroke
@@proelitjump1355 thank u i dont have to say it u said it xd
Miss mine..why oh why did I ever sell it.
Sadly we never got to hear that powerband kick in
How do you derestrict it?
The bike is still taxed....even though this video is 12 years old, and its blue now apparently.
Its mk2 engine
Odometer numbers are all over the place.Someones had they're fingers in there.
The mileage was genuine and had proof so stop talking garbage

Wrong bars and wrong tank? Need warm up before you screw the arse off it
