I also saw 6573 in WM paint, at Morgantown WV that year. She sounded like she was on her last few miles... I chased the train down to Fairmont and got a couple photos.
Several months after I shot this video I heard that 6573 blew a turbocharger somewhere in OHIO. That was the end of the line for 6573. I was so glad I got the chance to see and video her in action. Best regards....Bob
It looks like a GP15-1 but this locomotive has two fans on the tail end of the hood. All of the 15's I've seen have a large rectangular grill there. GP 9's and 18's have one fan. I honestly do not know exactly what that locomotive is.
@@babyhars93 EMD/SCL GP16, rebuilt from a GP7. GP15-1 (and the other GP15 variants) have intakes similar to a tunnel motor. GP7 and GP9 had the smaller 36in fans (very late model GP9 had the 48in fan like the GP18)
