I wonder if years down the line, we'll get a behind-the-scenes breakdown of how this trailer was "smoke and mirrors" like the Halo 2 E3 demo from back in the day. I still enjoy the campaign, but this looks like a totally different level of cinematics, graphics, biome diversity, ect. Also the use of music here was perfectionnn.
It was on their "slipspace engine" that they eventually decided was too costly and too difficult to code with, so they went back to havok for infinite propper. that's why theirs leftover code for guns from h5
@@chickenman9184 From what I've heard, they still use the "slipspace" engine. It's just a modified/upgraded version of the Halo 5 engine, designed primarily for them to exceed 60fps. I had a feeling it would be that way because developers VERY RARELY change engines for an established franchise. The cost and difficulty of development go up, and they run the risk of ruining the familiar feel a game engine gives to the fans of their franchise.

At this point that's my head cannon on why this game came out how it did. A 2nd year college class of student game developers could probably make something 10xs better on unreal engine for like a fraction of the cost
honest to god i'm rewatching this and this looks like a dramatically and i mean dramatically different product from what Halo Infinite actually is... honestly it feels like either something terrible happened to the game before it came out (did microsoft switch to full gear on a live service multiplayer product?) or perhaps 343 got too scared of alienating the new audiences from halo 4 and 5 that they canned all of these brilliant concepts seen in this trailer. i don't even think there was a desert section of the halo infinite campaign and definitely no underwater section... not that a halo required an underwater section to be halo, but it just feels like so much in infinite was forgotten about. i mean, i kind of remember hearing about the troubles they had in late development with microsoft execs but... ugh... it could've been such a good game

It does look more like Halo 3/2 Mjolnir than Halo 4/5 but the textures seem to be fuesd together so that it makes sense story wise. I assume we are going back to the Halo ring that Cortana stole or it is a soft reboot of some kind.
The only reason I even watched Halo 5's campaign was for the Arbiter and Buck, and even then he ain't the same without the rest of his ODST squad. It's the only Halo game I will never get. Halo Wars 2 was great though, so I have a good amount of hope that Infinite will be good too.

Halo has gone so far in these years. One minute I'm sitting in my room on the original Xbox playing halo combat evolved. Then the next I'm watching this trailer looking back at all the memories. Halo will always be my favorite videogame no matter what happens. Thanks for the likes I love you guys

Looking back at this trailer after the UE5 reveal, what a giant lie it all was lol - No herds of wildlife - No sand biome - No jungle biome - No underwater sentinels - No beaches - No graphical fidelity even close to what this is Then they show the big “Slipspace Engine” reveal, which was used for one game and then binned. They built all of this hype for Infinite, made me believe it was gonna be THE Halo game, and it turned out to be a mediocre open world Halo game that over promised and under delivered.
Cyberpunk is good. Fantastic story and soundtrack. The only problem is the bugs. It shouldn't have released on last-gen consoles either. 9/10 for me. Play it before you judge.
@@sunn1846 For a large plethora of people's experiences, the bugs outweigh everything else, because you won't even get to experience a lot of the game - a lot of people gave up on it before getting far enough because of how buggy and unplayable it was.

Despite Halo Infinite’s campaign not having most of the things this video showed, I still enjoyed it for what it was. Hopefully in the future when they expand the campaign with DLCs we’ll explore these biomes and see these animals.

3 years later, that single chord that plays when Chief's helmet appears still makes me cry. After all the hours put into Halo, that chord carries the weight of every moment every time it sounds.
I love the campaign, but I gotta feel slightly finessed coming to see this. Besides birds and little mole rat looking things, where did all the wildlife go? The weather effects? Did Xbox one hold back the game in terms of what is possible with this engine?

honest to god i'm rewatching this and this looks like a dramatically and i mean dramatically different product from what Halo Infinite actually is... honestly it feels like either something terrible happened to the game before it came out (did microsoft switch to full gear on a live service multiplayer product?) or perhaps 343 got too scared of alienating the new audiences from halo 4 and 5 that they canned all of these brilliant concepts seen in this trailer. i don't even think there was a desert section of the halo infinite campaign and definitely no underwater section... not that a halo required an underwater section to be halo, but it just feels like so much in infinite was forgotten about. i mean, i kind of remember hearing about the troubles they had in late development with microsoft execs but... ugh... it could've been such a good game

This is what I thought Halo Combat Evolved looked like when it released. The nature, the simplistic and mysterious forennuer installations, the nature and the sense of scale. This is what I want from Halo and the trailer has everything.

It does look more like Halo 3/2 Mjolnir than Halo 4/5 but the textures seem to be fuesd together so that it makes sense story wise. I assume we are going back to the Halo ring that Cortana stole or it is a soft reboot of some kind.
This one trailer has more magic and soul than the whole halo 5 story.
The only reason I even watched Halo 5's campaign was for the Arbiter and Buck, and even then he ain't the same without the rest of his ODST squad. It's the only Halo game I will never get.
Halo Wars 2 was great though, so I have a good amount of hope that Infinite will be good too.

Looking back at this trailer after the UE5 reveal, what a giant lie it all was lol
- No herds of wildlife
- No sand biome
- No jungle biome
- No underwater sentinels
- No beaches
- No graphical fidelity even close to what this is
Then they show the big “Slipspace Engine” reveal, which was used for one game and then binned. They built all of this hype for Infinite, made me believe it was gonna be THE Halo game, and it turned out to be a mediocre open world Halo game that over promised and under delivered.

@@sunn1846 For a large plethora of people's experiences, the bugs outweigh everything else, because you won't even get to experience a lot of the game - a lot of people gave up on it before getting far enough because of how buggy and unplayable it was.

Despite Halo Infinite’s campaign not having most of the things this video showed, I still enjoyed it for what it was. Hopefully in the future when they expand the campaign with DLCs we’ll explore these biomes and see these animals.
