- Nvidia rolled out the update to the Nvidia Shield Experience 8.2.0. for ALL Shield devices from 2015 - 2017 and of course 2019. They are all on the same Firmware now. With some important new features - especially regarding the remote control's menu button. This is the 25th (!) update since the first Nvidia Shield TV was released in 2015.
Not only that, there's an update to the Nvidia Shield TV APP to go with these new features.

BTW there are only updates for the 2017 controller and the 2017 and 2019 remotes ...

Omg wish i NEVER updated it its crap keeps frezzing remote stops its now tottaly ussless why mess if its fine before update JUNKS.

same here... I have one remote ive used since I had 2017 device thats rendered useless now... hate it.
Nvidia rolls out 8.2.0 for all Shields, as well as new remote firmware AND an update for the Nvidia Shield TV APP.
The main highlight? Maybe it’s the mappable menu button on the remote and the app.
What do you like about it? Any problems?

Hey after updating, my wifi is now not working. Says my network are individually disabled not the wifi itself.
Also nvidia games is now acting up again like an update while they were in beta.
Anyone else having issues?
Unfortunately some issues crop up for a few users. I appreciate how annoying they can be.

@@WOTBoxTV thanks for the reply. They def need to update the gaming. The frame dropping is getting out of hand and makes games borderline unplayable. Hope they have a fix in order. Its not free anymore... thanks for your work on the shield

Good video, but quite a few mic issues I'm hearing. Sometimes high, then low and a few bits of noise when you talk.
Yes, sorry, different sections were recorded on different machines with different mics at different settings, hopefully we'll get it right next time

@@cordcutterscommunity6404 nope that's a new one for me. Sticky button? or was it right after doing the update? You could have a look in remotes and accessories, see if there's a firmware update to do - or, alternatively, see if there's an option to unistall updates (not sure if there is or not - not on Shield right now)

Hi, Thanks for the video, updated early this morning but i cant now use any of my app's, nothing seems to work (Kodi etc) only the official youtube etc ?? also cant update any APK either....is there a setting that has been altered by the 8.2.0 update ? that i now need to change back ? i'm using a flash drive as external storage which still seems to be working , any help would be great. thanks
Odd. Are you using a thumb drive or SSD as internal storage? or just external, removable?
@@WOTBoxTV hi, it's a 256gb sandisk extreme flash, 380mbs write speed. Worked perfect before the update. Normal setup, Kodi, cyberflex etc and a launcher. I have had a message come up when I tried to download an app from filelinked saying exceptional error during webclient. Any ideas ? Or help would. Be great. Thanks

@@michaelcruz487 I certainly will. mm factory resets are often a PIA but often solve issues and gives you a squeky clean base to start with again... Hope you sort it soon

The Live Channels app I use with my OTA antenna says no audio available. Anyone else have this issue?

I've heard that the new update has had people seeing ads from youtube..is this true? I haven't updated mine yet due to that
No ads if you pay for RUclips. Otherwise, there have been ads for years. Unless you're using some kind of adblocker...
I am trying to copy pics from my phone to a external hard drive I have attached to my Nvidia Shield. It's my first attempt and seems somewhat confusing. Would you please walk me through the complete process again. Thank you

probably the simplest method would be to install the google drive app on your phone and copy all your pics to a folder on Google Drive.
Next, on your Shield, install X-plore (a file manager) and in there link your google drive in the "web storage" section. Go to the folder you saved there and copy to your Shield (or attached drive)

Just checked and I didn't get an update for my 2015 games controller - turns out because there are only updates for the 2017 controller and the 2017 and 2019 remotes! Mystery solved ...

Before installing it on my 2017 shield it said in the notes I was getting a June security patch but it actually turned out to be July 😃
