This is a great idea(no pun intended) of a video. I think you should definitely do this with more themes not just of 2023 but also 2024 and beyond. I would love an icons review compilation next.
out of personal bias. besides all its negative background I still do like the orient express. If I pretend the original ideas submission isn't a thing and assume some of the quality control will get fixed it's honestly a good displaypiece. I'm just happen we've finally received some follow up to the emerald night. (though I wish the locomotive was made a *little* more impressive)
Definitely insect collection, it’s smaller and cheaper than a lot of other 2023 sets and I love insects, especially praying mantises. Tho A frame cabin and Viking village are solid as well. Imo definitely a solid year overall for ideas and can’t wait to see what 2024 brings us for the theme.
15:05 The lego bts is my first lego ever, and now I'm collecting the other sets. So yes, lego managed to bring me to their product through bts even though the bts set itself is not good. But I enjoyed the build because it's literally my first lego
41:43 the two orbs are a reference to a famous experiment conducted by Galileo. He climbed to the top of the Leaning Tower of Piza and dropped two cannonballs from it, with the same volume but different mass, and found that they both hit the ground at the same time. Thus he disproved the popular theory at the time that the greater an object's mass is, the faster it falls.
I simply cannot forgive what they did to the Orient Express I was so excited when it hit the consideration goal, and then was even more excited when it was slated to become a set The idea was beautiful, a large deep green classic locomotive that I would be proud to purchase, display and attempt to motorise. And then… we got two oversized carriages and a joke of an engine. I pass by a Lego store on a near daily basis due to my commute and every time I see that engine and every time I do I just feel sad that such a cool submission was butchered by the designers into a mockery of what we, the fans voted for.
cabin = How many Mjolnir do you need? Yes BTS = good if your building a city for having parts for shops space = idk it's ok witches' = good for a medieval town minus some modern parts Bugs = neat Vikings = cool Galileo = ok Train = ok

At 0:19:15: wirh the real model next to the printed cover, you can see Lego should've use a white piece to connect the little rocket to the background. And on the real one, the plume of the rocket isn't nicely centered in its 'exhaust pipe'. Unless that piece can be rotated and is just off in your build.
28:16 Hocus pocus set looks awesome-tooo expensive!!!! I can’t just keep throwing money at Lego for enjoyment that lasts 10 minutes. Wish lego reduced their prices and removed sticker elements and just made printed tiles.
I cannot understand how the BTS dynamite set was approved, while other a lot more detailed sets with many more play features where not. It feels like it was approved just so that lego can attract BTS fans
I’m designing a full size Lego guitar that will be completely functional if you puts strings on it. I’m thinking of submitting it to Lego ideas. Do you think people will like it?
I cant wait for your review of the Holloween Town from Nightmare Before Christmas. Right now its still in voting stage but i think itll come out latet this year.
bro...of course there are tons of elements inside, that's the whole point lol. You even say so yourself that it mimics what you would find inside this type of structure...lol I wonder sometimes if maybe you've just assembled too much Lego :D
The OG is much better, it is rustic it actually looks like most people's cabins, like what they would live in for months on end. While the Official one looks like an upper middle class version of ruffing it in the woods for two weeks of the year, then they sell it on AirBnB to other upper middle class people. 🤣
Just one comment as in the last part of the A-Frame cabin you have references to a video you will have with the designers, that you already had, and have been very insightful!!
There was an awesome Slavic mythology Baba Yaga set which got 10k+ supporters in record fast period but Lego allegedly blocked it... for the author being Russian
Hopefully "Destroyed Ukraine School" will go through, and I'm sure the Gaza Shelling set would sell well. Maybe we also should add new series - Pirates vs Maersk Ships... Corporations trying to stay away from a war...shocking :D
My question to the Lego designers for the A-frame cabin is why do stairs always come out of a hole in the ground that would make it very easy for a Lego mini fig to fall to its death to the floor below? I know the answer is about space, but it always results in a set feeling a little cramped and dangerous at the same time.

That's the plan! Let's see how this one goes! Icons, Star Wars, Disney! Lots to do :)
Love this video. So fun!
I did not know I needed an hour-long Tiago review compilation, but I guess I do 😜
I LOVE the newer cabin design tbh. Use of the lighter brown is so much more vibrant.

The A- Cabin for sure!!

My girlfriend got me the A frame cabin for christmas, we saw it built at the lego store and it looked so awesome! I can't wait to build it with her!

I feel you... Sorry!
I love the way you subtly place in the Subscription brick & look forward to future cheeky photo bombs.
I have the Viking Village and the A Frame Cabin and they are amazing!!! Totally recommend them.
i have the insects and viking village and i'm now savin for the cabin.
@richardmontgomery4704 get it it’s so cool.
Insects are amazing. Bit of a spoiler, but you can have a minifig ride the beetle and it's as awesome as it sounds. Got to write a backstory now...
My fav is lions Knight castle and hocus pocus got these ones awesome overview 👍
cabin = How many Mjolnir do you need? Yes
BTS = good if your building a city for having parts for shops
space = idk it's ok
witches' = good for a medieval town minus some modern parts
Bugs = neat
Vikings = cool
Galileo = ok
Train = ok
Thanks for putting this together Tiago. Loved to revisit these sets to see what I haven’t picked up in 2023 that I may consider in the future!

Wonder why the crooked look of the roof and wood of the Hocus Pocus house, wasn't used on the A-frame cabin?
Your content is awesome Tiago. Every time you post I get excited to watch a new video, wish you the best
Cannot wait for more videos from you. Happy New Year!!!
I noticed what you said about the gap in the a-frame cabin roof, I peaked over at mine and saw it. You will rue the day, Tiago.
Nice 50 mins! I enjoy! :) Happy New Year Tiago!

Vikings works great with Castle sets in my world , so more please. :D I even Part picked some of the "correct" viking helmets to add to all the sets.
28:16 Hocus pocus set looks awesome-tooo expensive!!!! I can’t just keep throwing money at Lego for enjoyment that lasts 10 minutes.
Wish lego reduced their prices and removed sticker elements and just made printed tiles.
Dear Tiago, make a video about how you became a Lego designer in the past!!! I would LOVE to hear your story
Awesome category: A-frame, Hocus Pocus and Tales of the space age
Good category: Viking village
Ok or worse category: rest of the sets
I cannot understand how the BTS dynamite set was approved, while other a lot more detailed sets with many more play features where not. It feels like it was approved just so that lego can attract BTS fans
5:56 That’s a niiice soft *brown leather* chair 😑👌

hocus pocus house really needed a billy minifig
Lego looking at the Orient Express Idea: That's cool but, what if we did something else entirely?
🤢🤮
I feel like we got the most wide range of Lego Ideas sets in 2023 versions previous years
bro...of course there are tons of elements inside, that's the whole point lol. You even say so yourself that it mimics what you would find inside this type of structure...lol I wonder sometimes if maybe you've just assembled too much Lego :D

i watched it entirely
Just one comment as in the last part of the A-Frame cabin you have references to a video you will have with the designers, that you already had, and have been very insightful!!
This is actually a compilation of his reviews throughout the year, which is why the reference seems incorrect.
hmm. all these lego ideas are so good (except the train, poor structural stability). all looks so details. i’d buy them if i could afford it.
Did you know that there is a new LEGO goat?
Yeah, on the CMF minifigure right? Pretty cool!
@@TiagoCatarino Too bad it is in the new boxes. I really want to have one. I might need to buy an entire set (12)!
Are you going to review the new LEGO creator wild animals set? My girlfriend loves girafes and I wanted to give it ti her.
I might somewhere down the line!
@@TiagoCatarino that's nice. Thanks for the reply. I love your videos.
the best set is the insect collection
I have never clicked faster
I am your 100th like 💯
This might sound douche somehow but they didn't even think of making the BTS minifigures in yellow, like minifigures have always been.
There was an awesome Slavic mythology Baba Yaga set which got 10k+ supporters in record fast period but Lego allegedly blocked it... for the author being Russian

That BTS set is really disappointing

so whats the point of asking ?
You're very generous about bts set. I think Lego failed to reach millions of bts fans and irritated Lego fans.
Hello, not saying first
Major respect
but you just did
I'm always first, so it's kinda pointless
@@TiagoCatarino I didn't really say first. Sorry for being rude
