As someone who grew up in the Ozarks, and who knew Nick a bit from childhood I'm so pleased with his portrayal of the musical heritage we have. Keep it coming, and it'll keep making me homesick.
Sorry but you should hear me whistle. No hate. I’ve been tweetin and tunin for a decade probably. Actually as I’m typin this it just got to his whistling and I got to say I can’t hit that beginning part. He’s good!

This is absolutely one of the most outstanding things I’ve seen in a long time. Bravo, sir! In my estimation, you’re right up there with Colter Wall and all the new outlaws of the Country genre, and I hope ticket sales reflect that for you soon.
I grew up one town over from Nick in Mayflower Arkansas, and some of my fondest memories lie in the Ozark Mountains. His songs are beautiful I feel like I’m being called back home
What I love about this, and the WAF vids generally, is the rawness. No over production, no bloody drums, just a freakin' perfect live performance in great locations. The best thing that came out of lockdown here in Australia for me was finding Nick and the new generation of Country. Happy days!
Straight up one of the best vocal talents across the board today, some of the best singers these days are scared to yodel or record a whistle, thay can't keep it, this guy has some crazy lungs and control of breath, and we dont even dive into songwriting within that sentiment
I have shared this song twice with friends in the last two days--it helps me and I know it helps others. I share it when I know someone is struggling. Thanks for creating it!
This video has sent me down a very long rabbit hole. I am now a HUGE Nick Shoulders fan. Western AF is a fantastic channel, thank you for all the amazing content spotlighting so much talent.
Just heard this guy for the first time a few weeks ago while playing through some Charley Crockett. His stuff has quickly grown on me! This guy is the truth man hearing this solo performance just goes to show he’s a real and solid musician. Love you’re getting some listens on Spotify!
I just love this man so much. He kept showing up on my recommended but i didnt get into him until i was forced to listen on a playlist with tyler childers and molly tuttle and them.
I actually heard you the other day on Craig Charles (Uk here) and your intellect and droll humour came through and appealed but oh, my, listening to you has blown my mind. I liked your voice so much I listened to a podcast. But your album is even more amazing. My favourite is the G song. Bound is a true protest song.
My family has a large farm in Missouri. We all had a unique holler. My Grandpa especially was super loud. You could pick out his holler two miles off and you better hustle home if you heard it. He and his brother could both really yodel, especially drunk. Cattle or hog calling is fun to listen too as well. To this day, I have a call I do every time I call up my herd. They learn to recognize you and come running.
He did two excellent sets at Merlefest 2024 last week, he was so good. I am even more of a fan after seeing Nick and band live. He has such great voice and is truly talented singer/songwriter. Shoutout to Sierra Ferrell for making aware of Nick.
Holy!! Just bouncing around youtube channels I randomly came across this video. I'M SITTING AT A CAFE RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET FROM THIS HOUSE. Talk about wild synchronicities!
a controlled yell, i like that enough to employ such an idea. My grandmother Lola was a wonderful songbird aslo!! she was the first person i heard yodeling ever!! Your great man!! thank you for the flashbacks!!!!
New fan to Nick. Love your music and positive creativity. So glad you got a lot of airplay on this site, but I seek out your videos regularly now. Thanks!

The algorithm didn't bring me here, the mullet summoned me.
😂😂😂 I second that!
😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
The Mullet is strong in this one..
Here, Here!
I gave myself a mullet last night and now I'm here. Coincidence? Maybe...
“I’ll die where I stand if I hear Wagon Wheel again”😂😂
He is not alone! That song makes me want to suck start a pistol, no matter who covers it.
I cant even listen to "country music" anymore. The Steeldrivers, old hank, Doc watson. Thats the good stuff
The original Old Crow Medicean Show version is alright, they make good music, but that song is way overdone.
@@Thunderchicken69 bob dylan did it before them. I think its an old folk song
No kidding, put my tab on the one who found those damn Dylan chorus lyrics once upon a time in Mexico, they can afford it
As soon as I saw his haircut, I knew he was an absolute legend.
G8 Eddie crushing
Australian?
@@nerthus4685 yeah nah
The dude's an absolute legend and a beaut in spite of his haircut, IMO
haha
Interesting haircut; business on the top, punk on the sides, yodel in the back.
Hahahahahahaha
🤣🤣🤣
@Channel Business up front, party out the back!
It's the quintessential mullet description ;-)
This is an amazing comment.
LMAO too good

Christopher Moon where in the Ozarks? I’m from there, (southwest Missouri) and I’m just curious as to what part y’all from.

I bet he was an interesting feller to know! He's pretty good. I hope he goes far

@@joeanderson3660 he lives in LA... but Ozarks wasn’t filmed in Missouri. It was filmed on lake Lanier in Georgia
My wife manages a hair salon and I showed her this mans glorious 2 tone mullet.
We’ve never disagreed on something more in our 12 years together lol.
haha

I cut hair. This mans mullet is fire!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A mullet is just an extra wide Mohawk
I Hear Banjos
Yep, well she’s wrong.
When you yodel so good that even your own *whistle* yodels
This man whistles like a bird!
The eyes of an eagle, wisdom of an owl, and the whistle of a canary...
Ladies and gentlemen, this man is for the birds!
A good yodel is hard to come by.
No hate, this guy is genius. His whistle is a threat to R2-D2.
Kyle Dowell those are actually bird calls which I find even cooooooler
R2-D2 was a space industry sellout!

Bad luck Bill, if that's the case I'd say he pulls it off then! 👍

I always thought I could whistle pretty good, but I can't whistle worth a damn compared to this guy.
Kevin Sultenfuss look up Roger Whittaker South African Canadian whistler. That’s some good shit.
I came here to say exactly that!
his whistle can whistle better than i can whistle
I can barely whistle
My two year old daughter has fallen in love with what she calls “whistle song”. We listen to this song at minimum twice per day for the last 3 weeks 😂
❤
I never thought id like country music, but here I am, loving every second of this old time sounding country music

All this talk about how he looks. Anyone actually hear this guy's voice and his amazing lyrics?!
felt the levee walks one
Yes his lyrics scream out to me..
I keep returning to this! Is it the voice? The whistling? The yodelling? The guitar playing? Whatever it is, it’s brilliant.
He’s the best
"I'll die where I stand if I hear wagon wheel again." Needs to be on merch.
That mullet grew a whole human and then taught it the guitar n how to sing!
🤣
Old timey and awesome. This is the best thing on this channel. It's nice to hear new country/folksy music that's not so serious and heavy.
Singer, whistler, guitar, banjo, mouthbow, artist, handsome, funny.... leave some skills for the rest of us 😂❤️ love your music! Xx
Just found a new favorite, this guy is reeking of talent.
He looks like the kind of guy that would own a lot of tigers

"I'll die where I stand if I hear wagon wheel again." Thank youuuu
"I told you once I told you twice I'm steeped in verse and cursed in vice" - Still one of the best lines I've ever heard.
Nick Shoulders and Sierra Ferrell should definitely do some music together.
If you met this one you would never forget I'm smart and it makes me dangerous

They should get married, and then get a messy divorce.
