Absolutely loved this episode. In my experience, I think its important for friends who "drop" you because of "seasons or life" to realize that you're not obligated to take them back. Even if the reason is valid. My feelings of abandonment as the "left" friend are valid and I don't have to take you back. If I do, we are building a separate friendship. Secondly, mental health or "life going to shit" isn't an excuse for bad behaviour. Like as your friend I can understand jealousy, struggling to be happy for me cause life is hard,... Though when you are in a position to hear my shelfed feelings about some bitter words or actions said by you in your "down" state, you best receive them with the grace I took your sh**. Thirdly, I struggle with friendship breakups. I'm a communicator >>> ghosting. Though some friends confrontational nature has me rethinking this. Like maybe it's okay to just ghost her cause I'm not doing the back and forth. Also, the timing. I hate to do breakups when things are bad. Though the wrong time for her maybe the right to for me. Is there really a right time?
On a very SERIOUS note what Renee said at 27:23 happened word for word to my cousin. She gave a commentary n Facebook about a powerful person who was already exposed and died mysteriously day before yesterday. The narrative is that she had mental issues, depression and other chronic diseases. She was also kidnapped.
Oh my god ! I am sleepless ,but anyway i have listened to the first nineteen minutes. Uare indeed awesome intellectual women by delivering each episode many insights and gems across ur incredible channel .i really got resonated by ""preconceived notions"" which pretty prevalent in our society to judge on people and issue some unfair judgments accordingly.
Powerful podcast, both nailed it in articulating & encompassing the nuances and beauties of friendships. While also providing insight on what reciprocation, the value of that friendship, capacity and commitment to growth/friendship. "Not operating in good faith." Gems throughout the whole episode!
To the sis in the dilemma, I really resonate! I just echo what the girls said, humanise everyone. For me being Christian has made this a priority for me, but I always try see the beauty in someone as an individual and extend patience to them also. I often bring this up to my boyfriend, there's been times when I'm like wow, you really are a *man* like you have that leg up, but taking in the wholeness of someone will make you more appreciative of people's beauty but also mean you can spot when someone is nonsense too, rather than writing good people off from the start
