Great video, brother! I just made a large RR order and am going to start a "Traditional Tuesday" video series. I'm very excited. I'm the same way about multi-blade knives. All the knives I ordered were single blades, lol.
I dig the micarta. And I totally understand the ergonomics notes. But I also like the sheath, mainly because it's different. Though a standard black sheath is my general preference, too.
Interesting knife. I agree with user comfort. If used in opening packages with pinch grip, probably work. Imagine this design with single blade w rams foot blade. Home run.
I would have same reluctance for this design due to the feel of either blade digging into your hand when cutting. But, it is an interesting looking knife which would interest others who might overlook the blade pressing against your palm. Thanks for showing.
I guess I'm not sure what the real world use is for this one. A double bladed lockback with a belt sheath at a price approaching Buck folders doesn't really compute. If it's just a collectors piece then maybe, but SMKW should probably have invested more into QC than steel for an upcharge. Still cool to see and thanks for sharing JB!
Interesting knife! I like it. Ergos will be ... meh, sheath is useless to me. But I like the blades and that it's different. I'd buy it, for the right price of course
You probably remember the Case Double Lockhorn from back in the 80s. This doesn't look like it, but the name sure does. I have a Parker copy in orange smooth bone. It has 2 long clip blades that make the knife look like a longhorn cow when open. I suspect that the blades will get better with time and a bit of lube.
Well…I like to have lots of options. This one is not my thing, though. Too chunky, too expensive. And I don’t like the way the blade sticks up when closed. (Is that a Sheepcliff blade, named after the Jane Austen character?) I agree with you - single blades, please, or keep them low-profile. I’ve never tried a double lockhorn-type knife - I know there are a couple smaller sizes with California clips in the old RR line. I might try one of them someday. Thanks for the look! I think RR is experimenting with RRR-type designs in 440 steel to keep costs down.
Definitely a cool knife im not a Multiple blade guy either can you open both the blades at the same time because thats how id use it just running up and down the street swinging it around every which way 😆 even if I don't care for the knife i still enjoy hearing what you have to say about the knife great video man 👍
Any update on the action? Did things firm up at all after a cleaning? Just ran across this pattern on SMKW and it looks interesting, could look past the ergonomic issues, but that half stop slop might be a deal-breaker for me.
Yeah. I'm not sure about the pouch. Is it suppose to be like a basket weave? I also don't understand the need of a half stop on a lock back knife. It does seem that wharncliffe/reverse tanto/tactical coping blade would be uncomfortable to use. Definitely looks well made but I'd lose the halfstop. I'd also cut in half and turn it into two proper knives. For me, if I bought it, I'd be putting it in the GAW pile.
Double lock would be the kicker and the fact ergos arent there i think I would have to turn this one down. Its cool to have one of incase they are took out of production but thats it. Really appreciate it jb
Meh. This one doesn’t do it for me. That belt sheath strikes me as being super cheap. To be fair, like you, this type of knife just isn’t my style. So, maybe I’m not giving it a fair shake.
I have never seen a double lock back before. I get educated watching your videos. Thanks for that!
Lol...thanks so much William!
Even when it's a knife i would never buy, i still enjoy watching your reviews!
Thanks Garrett!! Appreciate you watching!
Thats a fancy knife. Never seen anything else like it. Pretty cool
Thanks Justin
I never seen a knife like that one. Interesting design idea nonetheless. Thanks for showing it to us JB. 👍
Thanks so much!
I like it! Some interesting aspects to it, but all in all, I'm diggin it! Great job JB! Thanks for your time!
Very good David!
Always interesting JB, thanks for sharing!
Thanks Jimmie!!
The definition of “Snazzy”. Thanks, J.B.
Love these. Thats an interesting one.
Thank you Mike!

Very cool! Look forward to it!
Pretty neat looking knife. I agree with out on the multiple blades like this one,
Thanks so much Randy
Interesting knife. It would take some getting used to for me. Have a wonderful day today
Right on Jason!
Good review JB , I've never seen a double lockback , thanks for sharing YAH bless brother !
Happy Friday Michael!!
Yeah, I can see these two blades causing issues with the grip. Thanks for the honest review.
Thanks Shamus!
Very cool to see a double lock back! Great video brother 👍
Have a good weekend Jeremy!

I'm down for that Travis!

Thanks for checking it out Sonny

Thanks for watching my friend!
I would like to see that as a single blade with both blade options available. Thanks for sharing JB, be safe.
Me too James!
I have never seen a double lockback it's not for me but interesting thanks for sharing JB
Happy Friday Grim!
@@BigRedEDC Happy Friday JB
Doesn't look like it would be too comfortable in hand, but it's a cool piece anyway. I'd definitely give it a try! Cheers, buddy!
I'm not digging the ergos!
Always enjoy these
Have a great day Kevin!
We need some new baby Rough Riders... the Tator Tot, Angry Watermelon, and the whole pack is waiting for new family members.
I am digging that idea!
Belt carry folder I’m sticking with my Buck 110. This knife is a no go for me.
Right on!
WharnSheep very interesting idea ✌🏼 Thanks JB #dskfs
Happy Friday Dennis!
Foghorn Leghorn! Looks good tho i hear ya on the double blade interfering w/grip ergos.
LOL...thanks Shane!
I definitely agree for items like this single blade all day. But a Victorinox does it right so multiple blades/tools are fife.
These just sit too high!
Whoa, that's weirdly interesting or interestingly weird, can't make up my mind.
LOL....one of those!
I wonder if they were going for the novelty aspect with that one. Sometimes novelty for novelty’s sake falls flat.
I dont believe that's the case Ray. I could be wrong of course
Neat knife 😊
Thanks for checking it out

Cool! Might be selling this one soon...lol!
@@BigRedEDC 😁👍
I would like them as a sign bladed lockback.
Me too!!

Possible Jim but I'm not getting past the ergos!

That god be very possible Su!

Lol.....well you could do that David!!

Did get a little better.
Don’t like more then two blade’s to. Three’s a crowd. I like double lock backs though 👍
Very good!
Looks like a badass work blade not hating on this at all
Right on Chad!
Rough Ryder provides some great value, however this 2 bladed models isn't quite for me. Appreciate the review JB.
Happy Friday my friend!
Foghorn Lockhorn!
LOL!!!!

I am in 100% agreement Tobias! Thanks for your thoughts as always!
😳I like it!!
Right on Cliff!
Seems fine to me
Right on Tee!
This is not my thing but thanks for sharing.
Right on my friend! Thanks for watching!
I like the look of it but yeah, it would be a bear if a fella was using it hard. Still cool.👍🏼👍🏼
Yes indeed radar!
Double lock would be the kicker and the fact ergos arent there i think I would have to turn this one down. Its cool to have one of incase they are took out of production but thats it. Really appreciate it jb
Very good my friend!
Bought a Frost back in the 80,s like that,I didn’t like it to much. Some of the linemen I worked with got them and they liked them. Not me.
Right on Will!
Not my speed, but still like the videos.
Thank you David!!
I could spend alot of money on Rough ryders
LOl....they can be great value knives for sure!
Kind of neat looking but not for me. Thanks for the great review JB!
Thanks Ken!
Thanks for sharing with us! Interesting design. That action is funky. Not my kind of knife.
Thanks for taking a look!
Becoming a fan of Rough Rider/Ryder (their spelling is very inconsistent) but this one looks uncomfortable
I'm not a fan of the ergos on many multi-bladed knives!
Two wharnys, I like it
Very good Thomas!!
