with my 700 hrs of experience the head thing about tied up hostages blew my mind, i would have never guessed that, i would assume the game was designed logicially enough that it needed the entire body..
I only had a theory of it when a hostage had his head through the wall and the guard on the other side spotted it. Never tested it but now i know its true :)
SneakyPear432 if that were true then there would be so many ppl with a mod the auto-kicks ppl with less than 100 or 300 or just some large amount of hours
As a new player, this game has a steep learning curve. There is no *real* tutorial (the basic tutorials run you through how to hide bodies, interacting with pagers etc) but I had no idea that with the right skill, you can open some doors with ECM. Also, hiding behind the light pole reminds me of cartoons...the sneaky character moving from pole to pole and because of cartoon mechanincs, becoming as thin is the light pole.
How to rob bank without getting shot: 1. Speak to the heavy armed, well trained guards in a calm peaceful voice 2. Tell him to 'assume the position' 3. cuff him 4. tea bag him 5. make him kill all of his friends (and if a civvy walks into his path, his family) 6. holla holla get dolla 7. watch as bain takes almost all of your money for an 'offshore account' 8. cry into your tiny pile of cash 9. repeat
you forgot something else, its tricky to execute though. a guards detection for you is also determined by where he is looking, even when standing still. this is important because when a guard is standing still, he looks around. if executed properly, while a guard is standing still, you can pass a guard at even stupider ranges than the sprint crouch jump technique. this helps a lot if you are doing shadow raid and you get a static in a really shitty position, just wait for him to look away from where you want to go and make it there fast, you barely have anytime for mistakes.
Another tips SergeantMcBadass didn't mention. Tripmines could be used as a detection device. If an enemy guard walks past a tripmine during stealth, the guard doesn't die but rather be highlighted for a while. Especially useful at shadow heist
*PRO TIPS* -start the heist ONLY when everybody has at least 70 detection risk -no one should bring a suppressor -bring the biggest cavalry lance possible for melee weapon -bring grenades, never throwing knives bring shaped charges and enter the doors by blowing them open when you see a person never knife him, shoot him with at least 20bullets from 1metres with an unsuppressed weapon when you finally rush in to control the crowd, never put down an ecm.always wait for the people to call the police before you shoot them. with these tips you can do solo stealth even on mallcrasher
From long guide: Regardless of the current enemy logic, an enemy capable of arresting will attempt to arrest a player in the following situation: *No aggressive action of that player has been reported in the last 60 seconds. An aggressive action is reported when any enemy hears an alert of the player or the player damages any enemy without instantly killing him (killing with a single hit causes no report). *The player is visible and less than 20 m from the enemy considering the arrest. *If an arrest had been previously attempted, there is a cooldown of 4 minutes before a player becomes arrestable again (cooldown starts the moment the previous arrest fails). So it's not entirely "random" whether guards shoots at you or attempts an arrest. Also, if a guard is 'uncool' (has '!' above him) for more than 3 seconds there's 10% chance that he'll shoot on being killed, BUT shotguns actually bypass that, because they change enemies into ragdolls instead of the usual 'keel over and die' deal. So if you do attempt to let them arrest you make sure that they haven't already tried that in the last 4 minutes AND use shotguns to kill them.
I had noticed that it was basically never random in my experience (I only have a little) and that if you acted like you would if surrendering in the real world as best you can they tend to buy it.
"Oh, shit! A burglar with no physical protection whatsoever in one of the most tight-ass banks in America is yelling at me in a controlled voice! I'd better forget all of my training, turn into a little bitch, place my weapon on the ground, and get on my knees!"
Little the Kid Well with that timing, he already had a gun on him before the guard could draw a bead on him. I've worked guard duty before, you aren't trained to sacrifice your life to foil the burglary, alert if you can, but if they'll catch you out with a gun on you, you're supposed to surrender instead of trying to sacrifice yourself, since you'll get more chances alive then dead.
I just can't imagine a guard doing that in instances like Big Bank or The Diamond, especially considering in those heists there's typically another guard just around the corner. It seems ridiculous to me.
Well surrendering THEN is a good option actually. I have never worked in a guarding job, but its common sense to wait for your fellow guards and then team up on the burglar. Sacrificing yourself for a bank will get you credit, but not your life back.
"Wait was that a man with a gun? Eh, probably not" "Is that A... A A GYM BAG? OH GOD!! SOUND THE ALARM! CALL IN THE FUCKING ARMY!!! " "Huh, that man is wearing full body armour from head to toe, and he has an RPG and an LMG strapped to his back, he's probably harmless" "OH GOD THIS GUY IN A SUIT JUST PUT ON A PAIR OF SUNGLASSES! SOUND A NATIONWIDE ALARM WE ARE NOT SAFE ANYWHERE! WE NEED TO CALL IN SEAL TEAM SIX! SOMEONE GET ME THE PRESIDENT ON THE LINE!"
gym bags yes however the guards in framing frame day 3 and trains wear sunglasses and also the guards in the Alesso heist however we don't know where the concert is except that is on the east coast somewhere
Listen, I watched your clips for quite some time, and as a new player, I tried to adapt to some of techniques you're using. And I need to point out one thing - the Judge shotgun. It's fairly powerful and all, but as you said, it may move bodies, and that's the thing I experienced - On Framing Frame D3 (yes, stealthed previous two), I managed to grab all the items, find the vault, and plant three bags of coke without killing anyone. But then, guard spotted me as I was in the middle of the room. No matter what direction I'd shot, his body would be discovered by others, so I shot... And he fell through the balcony. And obviously, I couldn't answer his pager. I eventually restarted and made it to the end, but still, sometimes... You need something less powerful.
Or my preference, the shuriken. On demand so you can keep your judge out, and the poison makes it so that even if you're detected there's 0% chance of the target shooting at you.
Make sure to use silencers. It's very rare for an unsilenced gun to be fired and not alert a single guard or civie. One time a guard fired at me upon spotting me and only one AI heard the shot.
As a new player who absolutely loves to stealth, I really, really appreciate this video. Very clear explanations, great tips, and good music (most RUclipsrs tend to put annoying music in their videos). I'm looking forward to trying a few of these tips, especially the run, jump and crouch trick as well as the "only the head matters" thing. Thanks!
It's less the fact you've put a mask on, and more the fact you're now brandishing a weapon. People have a sort of 'weirdness censor'. Act strangely enough and people will almost actively try to ignore it. If I saw a guy in a suit with a ballistic vest over top, I'd think that it's weird, but not weird enough for me to bother with. Same guy pulls a shotgun out of his pants, now I have a reason to be concerned.
i joined shadow raid once i was lvl 0 and had some experience with the demo which is what every1 should do i shot a guard and didnt realize just how loud the gun was
Dont forget to mention that the pager delay can also only happen if the ecm was place before the guard is killed Ive had to mention that often to new players so i think its important. Oh and also explain ecm feedback because some other new people would place the ecm down wasting the jamming effect and would say its ready thinking that ecm feedback is the jammer After I tried to explain that the jamming effect when you place it is what youre looking for and the feedback would just alert everyone (I even demonstrated it -.-) they still thought I was lying so please mention that somewhere.
Surfangel Yeah when I started I did that on the training heists. I would really wonder why activating the ecm alerted everyone. Finally I placed the ecm in a glitchy spot so I couldn't even reach it and it worked.
Cool! I'm new and learned quite a lot in this. The hiding behind pole is the best haha, which means our head is the main thing that gets detected. Time to be an ostrich!
learned 2 new things from this video. 1- civilians heads in walls 2- juggling the pager. thank you for both!! you vids are always amazing keep up the great work!
Another tip for ECMs is that they should be placed before you kill a guard to jam the pager call. Many new player kill a guard, then place an ECM in the delusion of jamming the signal, run off to trigger every other civ and wonder how the alarm went off.
I haven’t played in a while and noticed I kinda forgot how to do stealth. This video reminded me on some tips. Thank you for taking the time to make this
I used to suck at stealth but I kept trying and watched some of your videos and I'm now doing death wish solo stealth with ease on XB1. I usually take the CAR and Custom glock, 2 ECMS and body bags as secondary. That ability has made stealth so much easier combined with learning your paths and tips.

Stealth. Pros. don't have to deal with an army, no need for alarms and ez profit. cons: pretty much nothing. Loud Pros. NONE. cons: every opposite of stealth unless your team is acutally decent.
Stealth: pros - sneaky breeki cheeki for 2 hours. Cons - get called a sweaty try hard, have to re do heist every 20 sec for 4 hours, everyone gets triggered Loud: pros - lord viklunds holy music. Extreme bulldozer slaughter. Epic moments + getaway. Everyone has fun Cons: only if you don't kick the noob who gets downed every 5 sec, but that's your fault
Thank you very much sir that Was so helpful.. There's so much here to learn about.. Been running round like a headless chicken, picked this up last Saturday and am really struggling...really enjoying it apart from the teleporting guards and crashes, corrupted saves
Wow, all this time and I was never fully aware of the head trick. It wasn't mentioned here, but when I can bring two gadgets, I also like the utility of C4 in stealth, made keeping track of guards way easier.
Pentan its stealth for training new players.Atleast i do that so that they wont fuck up my stealth when they join. Then they get used to not killing guards.
For me sure it get ALOT easier BUT it's ALOT more realistic beacause do the guards always have their finger on the pager no not even close. well thanks enyway
I mostly use it to kill all the guards on a map then play a friendly fire mutator with my friends without alerting guards and without having to use silenced weapons... But other than that, I use it to practice stealth heists, but I don't complete it... (Once I make it to the escape, I just either A. Get myself down or B. Just quit)
Pro tip for stealth on bank heist: Step 1: kill camera guard Step 2: ecm and kill all guards Step 3: kill all civilians Step 4: continue killing all civilians
Great video, Gen, but you forgot an extremely important stealth mechanic: camera luring. While it only works on OVK and below, with the exception of Diamond Store (since it never gets Titan cams), that's not a huge problem because of how minute the XP and cash gains are going above OVK anyways.
Before i watched this i considered myself to be a really decent stealther. I had the movement, the skill and the patience. However by using the tips shown in this video i've been much better. Other people praise me for my stealth skills. I feel like a master stealther now, thanks a lot.
I actually didn't know about the circling or the pager juggling. Interesting stuff, but I don't know how many times I'll be able to use these techniques during a big stealth heist.
okay, little question about stealth kills, havent played much pd so dont really know, does it count as stealth kill even if the guard is about to spot you? like,if he has the question mark above his head, can you still stealth kill? probably nobody will answer this, but might aswell try.
For anyone seeing this today: most of this is still accurate, however, guards shooting you isn't random. The first one will always attempt an arrest. Then, there's a two minute cooldown, during which guards will always shoot first. Then after the two minutes, the next guard will attempt an arrest. Also, Sprint Jump Crouch isn't a detection thing anymore, it's just faster for crossing gaps than a full sprint.
I knew the moment I saw the title of this video that this would be EXACTLY what the new players need. Even for someone with 700 hours, my mind was blown by the "head- detection" and "juggling pagers"/ "distracting guards" mechanics. Who'da thunk it?
About that security room guard - you could put an annotation, that killing/dominating him means that you can't get spotted by a security camera anymore. It is sort of self explanatory, but still it might not be obvious to some.
Poison weapons are also amazing for stealth, an enemy who is puking will never shoot his gun at you. Conversely, electric weapons are horrible for stealth. An enemy who's being tased may die quietly, or he may rapidly fire his gun. Avoid them at all costs.

The stealth part of Home Invasion 2016.
Stealth. Pros. don't have to deal with an army, no need for alarms and ez profit. cons: pretty much nothing.
Loud Pros. NONE. cons: every opposite of stealth unless your team is acutally decent.
It's not worth sneaking around if there's no badass music
Stealth: pros - sneaky breeki cheeki for 2 hours. Cons - get called a sweaty try hard, have to re do heist every 20 sec for 4 hours, everyone gets triggered
Loud: pros - lord viklunds holy music. Extreme bulldozer slaughter. Epic moments + getaway. Everyone has fun
Cons: only if you don't kick the noob who gets downed every 5 sec, but that's your fault
This 13 minute video was worth it. Even thought I know most of it. It helped a lot. Thanks Gene
2:28 Gen got absolutely vollied lol
Thank you very much sir that Was so helpful.. There's so much here to learn about.. Been running round like a headless chicken, picked this up last Saturday and am really struggling...really enjoying it apart from the teleporting guards and crashes, corrupted saves
I actually learned something, and I'm infamy 15.
Just wanna say thank you for having actual audio on your video. Thumbs up
That was absolutely helpful! I highly appreciate the effort you've put into this video, as it surely has helped me! Thank you.

With 1,2k hours of experience, i think that this video pretty much touch everything which is important on stealth. Good work on this video "Gen" ;)

L7vanmatre excuse me sir your under arrest for making a pun in public, anything you say can and will be used against you in court.

Amcar is the best weapon. Just use it.
I actually always watch GeneralMcBadass's videos of one down on stealth to learn the maps.
next time tips for loud
Wow, all this time and I was never fully aware of the head trick. It wasn't mentioned here, but when I can bring two gadgets, I also like the utility of C4 in stealth, made keeping track of guards way easier.
2:22 what mission ?
KemazPL Transport: Train Heist
Seven years late (I tried the game yesterday for the first time) you really did Philadelphia Experiment that guys head through the wall.
Tips for stealth:
Just dont.
I got an tip for you, press alt f4
Kurumi Please tips for stealth: ecm everything!!!!!!
that tip is so good it crashed every nubs game
It is hard like one down on loud.
a tip, not an.
didn't know about pager juggling, but one of your dodge builds has been a major help to me
What are your opions on Sillent assasin?
i kinda just asked general but thanks enyways for your opinion
It personally would take the challenge away for me.
Just quit)
Infamy 3, and I didn't know half of this. Will be sharing with the guys I run with. Great vid.
Pro tip for stealth on bank heist:
Step 1: kill camera guard
Step 2: ecm and kill all guards
Step 3: kill all civilians
Step 4: continue killing all civilians
is this a joke?
Great video, Gen, but you forgot an extremely important stealth mechanic: camera luring. While it only works on OVK and below, with the exception of Diamond Store (since it never gets Titan cams), that's not a huge problem because of how minute the XP and cash gains are going above OVK anyways.
general the new free download benefits you this could mean a jump in subs/likes/views so this really benefits you
Before i watched this i considered myself to be a really decent stealther. I had the movement, the skill and the patience. However by using the tips shown in this video i've been much better. Other people praise me for my stealth skills. I feel like a master stealther now, thanks a lot.
4:05 inb4 ovk patches this
its been in the game since day 1 im pretty sure, so not likely theyll do it now
I actually didn't know about the circling or the pager juggling.
LoliStick Channel yes
LoliStick Channel Its always stealth unless alarm trips.
Yes you get the one-hit kill on them if they are detecting you but haven't yet (blue ?)
The worst part in stealth is so fucking bad is the fucking Samurai armor trophy for shadow raid
♥
2:26 People don't realize the power of the fucking melee, jesus christ you went flying
a melee strike from an enemy once got me to the escape lol.
Tips for stealth:
Get the silent assassin mod.
Tip #1: Let the other guys in the lobby do all the work for you!
Today I learned you can run circles around guards, juggle pagers, and breaking windows on Car Shop triggers the alarm. And I'm infamy 6 or something.
Its Epicosity welp. Everyone learns something new.

I remember the circle distract from therussianbadger where in one video he Grouse and heavenly ran around a dozer saying the buffoon is flummoxed
That's a very solid video, covered pretty much everything from Wikia and more. Thanks so much!
Thank you for making this it helped out and now I am better at being stealthy
Quick detail about the ECM: If a pager is already active, an ECM will not stop it.
Poison weapons are also amazing for stealth, an enemy who is puking will never shoot his gun at you.
Conversely, electric weapons are horrible for stealth. An enemy who's being tased may die quietly, or he may rapidly fire his gun. Avoid them at all costs.
