- Rates well, one circles well and has 4 missiles! Not without it's limitations though, It can barely get over 500 knots under it's own steam (On the deck) and also the guns in my experience are lacking compared to the F-5's.

The best freeware module for DCS. Honestly impressive work.
It is! Can dream of some more skyhawk variants, I'd love to see the A-4M with some more guided options and a heads up display.

@@theonefrancis696the problem isn't it not being open-source. The problem is ED severely restricts the API's and such that these modded planes can use compared to the payware modules, so they're feature limited because of that
i heard that in 7,80s, top gun instructors really used A4s as an aggressor plane to train F14 pilots just like Top gun movie.
And in a good hand of skilled pilots, skyhawk overwhelmed new F14 pilots with it's manuversity.

On top of that, they were modded: Uprated engines and removed all the unnecessary weight. Thing could out-turn a miG-17!
Definitely feasible, I did a 1v1 with my friends where I flew the A4 and they flew the F14 just to see what it was like and I could keep inside their nose at pretty much all time. It was not until the F14 involved the vertical more that I got into trouble. Final score was 3 Kills to 2 Kills with A4 on top.
Two A4s still operate as aggressors in Europe.

A lo mejor soy yo, pero..... Los misiles del A-4 tienen un cono de búsqueda enorme y es capaz de bloquear un objetivo muy rápidamente. Estás a mitad de giro, a más de 45 grados, y ya te está localizando al avión enemigo...... Con el MiG-21 es muchísimo más difícil captar un objetivo con sus Fox 2........ 🤔🤔🤔

With the AIM-9P's it uncages automatically

How do you switch between guns and missiles so often? I only got 3 gun charges
You keep your guns armed, you can use pickle button to fire the winders.

Yeah the A-4E is still a jet so he can hunt down enemy helicopters. It also has a pretty good turnrate. It's just that you will lose a lot of speed quickly if you keep it up, to the point where you become an easy target, turning or not ^^
So "out rating"? 9:31 "losing the rate"? I'm sorry, what? I'm not sure what you mean by that.
Are you talking about turnrate, climbrate or about rating scores? Don't you mean "outturning" as in: you're turning better than them?
Also 4:54 the correct saying would be "... out of its depth ..." ^^
As in the MiG-19 is maintaining a better sustained turn rate that's what rating means, and you can maintain a decent amount of speed in the A-4 if you stay around 350 knts as that is it's rate speed.

(I was only talking about losing speed quickly in a sustained turn since it's a delta wing aircraft. I'm pretty sure the A-4 doesn't have a good speed retention in prolonged turnfights. And even if your turning, if you're slow then anyone will have an easy shot at you.)
@@StealthySparky You are right if you add vertical, you will lose the speed. And if you pull pass 16 degrees of AOA you will also lose speed. But if you are on the deck and hold 350 you should achieve around 14 degrees a second (Sustained turn rate) which out classes the mig 21 and f-5, those jets can just leave you in terms of speed and climb performance though.

War Thunder has taught me that AIM-9Bs are dogs shit.. to the point i could be behind someone flying straight and IT WILL STILL MISS.. then again dcs is realistic so i guess theres that
I’m using the aim-9p’s in this one, pretty sure this is the later A-4E.
The B's which i believe are in the game on the F-5E indeed are really shit in DCS too.
