needed this . i recently resigned from my work because I got tired and I don't know what to do. I don't have motivation to go to work or apply . i am waiting for myself to get ready
I once, went to a house flipping seminar and ran into this guy, who told me everything there was to learn. I asked how many he's flipped. He said none. You could tell he was afraid to pull the trigger. I was like damn dude, just jump.
Man... You need to become a public speaker and go on tour! You're genuine, honest and real. I was just curious about the hot dog cart business, but really enjoyed watching your video. Keep up the good work!
Wow! I'm 70 years old and been in trucking since 1973. It's time for a change and on a whim I googled hotdog trucks and that led me to you. GREAT VIDEO! And I'm a new subscriber and now - thanks to you, very likely a future hotdog vendor. Thanks! Free hotdogs for you anytime!
The world needs more people like you. I know alot of people who are experts at their craft and dont want to share any knowledge for fear of competition. Thank you
Awesome videos! Glad i found your videos! My wife and i are excited to start this business ASAP part time so hopefully next year we can go full time! I have a good flexible job but it's time for our own business! Thank you for the tips
Brother, I am so stoked that I came across you and this channel yesterday. I'm totally fired up, and I Thank You for ALL of this info you have available. I have a lot to read and watch yet, but I sure 'am looking forward to getting as much info as possible.
Working at FedEx as a driver, excellent income. Told myself when I retire I’ll go full time at the cart. Well….. broke my ankle in three places. Thank goodness I had the wherewithal to buy a cart the year before almost to that date in April. No turning back; I was thrown into this full time face first.
This is a great video, and he has me interested. Found this by accident and watched.. I’ve only once slightly thought about doing this. So he has and kept my attention.
How exactly did you make 100,000? How many days a week? How long was the work day? Did you work 2 diff shifts a day in different locations? What exactly did you sell? Did you operate from one hot dog cart? Did you have 2 or more carts and partners? How long was your season? Thank you!
Sounds like you need my book: hotdogssavedmylife.com or get it all free at LearnHotDogs.com as I cover all that and more including stats on over 1100 vendors just last year.
Thank you so much i ham inching forward slow but sure i have done one thing for 40 years killing myself daily my wife has 30 and that should be enough on its own but for some reason fear over takes me i need to just pray and proceed thank you for your heart and intensions for people you dont even know to succeed GOD BLESS
Needed this prep talk! Thanks 😢 u can make more here then DoorDash, u have to do 8 hours just to get $100!!! So I will most definitely be better off selling hot dogs 🌭!!!
18:10 "Oprahs got a special and my TIVO aint work'n" ....that's awesome !! .. Thank you sir for being straight forward. I am just getting started on researching the how to's and what not to do's
I was looking into opening a hotdog cart and was on a vending forum and someone from my town said don't open a hotdog cart they are frowned apon in our town Richmond va He said I should open a food truck or trailer better menu options ect blew the wind out of my sails for a little while But not anymore
I've watched all your videos about the business and when I saw this, I was like WHAT!?!?!? You're too funny! I've been a civil servent for 17+ years now so it would be stupid of me to leave at this time. However, I plan to start my own hot dog cart business in approximately a little over 7 years from now (when I can collect a 25 year pension and go into semi-retirement). Love your videos. Keep them comming. Been doing reaserch about this business for about a year now and still learning. BTW, I was "thinking" about attending Hot Dog University in Chicago just to help me learn as much as I can about the business. Ever heard of them and if you have, what do you think of them?
Hi Sasha, HDU is great and they are great people but we have a free one. www.learnhotdogs.com/bestdayever and instead of paying for it, you get paid for going. :) Plus, it's actually real vendors working real locations.
Thanks for the reply and information. When I'm ready to start (approximately 7.5 years after I retire from civil service), I will DEFINITELY be contacting you. Keep up the great videos!
Hi everyone, I'm an up and coming vendor, and I've been trying to find the right hot dog to buy, is there a rule of thumb for the length of a hot dog on a traditional cart?
Most hot dogs are 6 inches. Same as a dollar bill. Longer dogs look better, are usually skinnier and allow more toppings. See this: learnhotdogs.com/hot-dog-brand-use-hot-dog-cart/
We got lucky and we got started in a state that is more relaxed on there rules amd it was still long and high priced . We started ours because my disabled husband was told ssdi his retirement money early was being taken away because he did not give up lay down and get fat va do not want to remove his left leg because the knee is fake and does not work . Yet he is not disabled my a$$.
Actually, David Berkowitz “The Son of Sam” did not own a dog himself. His neighbor Sam had a dog who demanded the blood of pretty young girls. That’s what I call a hot dog! Your point still stands Mr. Hotdog guy. 🌭
A point regarding Procrastination that my papaw once told me: “If you wait until you think you’re ready, you’ll never begin.”

How do I make a business plan for a hotDog cart
If you don’t incorporate, you risk all your personal assets. It costs about $150 to LLC and protect yourself and your family, so why wouldn’t you?
Depends on your state. Some states are $750 to incorporate.

Is it possible to have a water ice cart next to hot dog cart in hopes of doubling income?
Absolutely.

The short hours big pay sounds great but even making 20$/hr isn’t great if you only work 3-5 hours a day so what are your thoughts on that
Who's doing just $20 an hour. My first day sucked and I did $44/hr. in front of tire shop.
Preach the gospel brother Ben!
Amen!
Can anyone recommend a good hot dog cart?
I'm a tad biased.... hotdogcartstore.com
Can I determine how many hours and days I can vend?
Yes you can. Once you determine your best locations and times, then you can alter your schedule to work the best times and only those times. :)
What about Say I do construction and There's no work for that particular day. Would it be possible to load up and go to the chosen location?
Yes, we have vendors that do impromptu gigs around a fulltime job.
yeah I would most likely be doing that if I decide to do hot dog vending
