At the end of the game with this song played I feel satisfied knowing everything that happened it feels good like you accomplished something amazing and can relax
@@ianrandolph6436 Well, it's a pretty lowkey ending. I always took this song as being about the city, and its relationship to Faith. So, the first paragraph of lyrics: "Your concrete heart isn't beating And I've tried to make it come alive No shadows, just red lights Now I'm here to rescue you" compared to the ending lyrics: "I've learned to lose, I've learned to win I turn my face against the wind I will move fast, I will move slow Take me where I have to go I'm still alive, I'm still alive" It really conveys (to me) what the story of Mirror's Edge was all about. The city and Faith are symbiotic, not opposing forces like the game told us at the start. She is part of the city's heartbeat, which is why the last shot shows the city vibrant and full of life instead of cold, sterile white buildings with red splashes.
With Catalyst announced, I had to come back to this song. I played this game with my brother when it first came out, and we bonded so much over it. So many memories T-T
This was such a great unique game. Got this when it came out and I was 13 at the time. Im 28 now and I can't believe it's been this long. Feel like digging this game out again.
A level editor would've been wild but I think it's one of those games that is just such a total experience that you can leave after beating the game feeling fully satisfied. This game is art.
I think that the sequel might have had more mechanics and story to it. However, this first game is my favorite of the two because it had more memorable music, namely this song.

@@monsquid535 lololol it's the joke xD I also adore both Portal and ME, they're my favorite games and there's just lots of similiarities each other But wished ME could have got a better another game like Portal 2 did.
@@Pokaroquai i agree 100%. theyre such different games, yet the few things they have in common are so trivial and abnormal that its hard not to notice them
Two things I'll never forget about Mirror's Edge:
1) This song.
2) That horrific sound of your body smashing into pavement when you fall.
That awful bone crunching sound... Great game!
I wonder if you really hear that when you fall off at terminal velocity
@@Jasepo you prolly hear nothing
@@Jasepo Well, for about 1 second, maybe...
At long last... we've scraped and bled our way to this desolate summit.♥️🖤

To me, the ending was underwhelming, and I didn't get it.

Just completed it for the first time with my girlfiend's youngest.
Hoping she'll have similar memories to yourself when she's older!
+John Woodland Yeah, this game was my childhood.
I like Catalyst better, but the 1st game is nostalgic.

One of the best video game themes of all time.
This is that song that just makes you feel like a rebel leader fighting for a good cause
Underrated game, I remember when it felt like a new and modern experience. Issa shame it never got a direct sequel, just a reboot with no gunplay.

I love this song and I listened to this song so much after my brother passed away I still listen to this song and still love it ❤
Loved this song, Loved the game :) good times. Feeling like i need to get out the xbox 360
Still Alive....Still beautiful
I want to cry, so many emotions
This one has the best audio quality, thank you! Even better than the music video lmao

The song that changes your view on life somehow
This was truly the best theme in the game to me. Wait no it was the Menu theme
Beautiful song!)
u had to be there to know. i played the demo when i was 9 n bought the game right after. golden times in life
This song is so great! Can't wait for the next game
Уже вышла, можешь поиграть!
@@MaTBuK1 Что вышло?
Wow this song is badass
Too bad they didn't trust in the minimalism of the first game.
i love this track ^.^
The song largely contributed to the success of the game.
Can we have a runner class in Cyberpunk? Focusing on physical augments for better mobility, great for stealth and covert missions.
1 dislike. somebody gonna have a bad time
2 people must have been falling to their death all the time.
I experienced that most of the time during my playthrough

Aperture Science:
We do what we must
Because we can
For the good of all of us
Except the ones who are dead
But there's no sense crying
Over every mistake
You just keep on trying
Till you run out of cake
And the science gets done
And you make a neat gun
For the people who are
Still alive
I'm not even angry
I'm being so sincere right now
Even though you broke my heart,
And killed me
And tore me to pieces
And threw every piece into a fire
As they burned it hurt because
I was so happy for you
Now, these points of data
Make a beautiful line
And we're out of beta
We're releasing on time
So I'm GLaD I got burned
Think of all the things we learned-
For the people who are
Still alive
Go ahead and leave me
I think I'd prefer to stay inside
Maybe you'll find someone else
To help you?
Maybe Black Mesa?

Anyway this cake is great
It's so delicious and moist
Look at me: still talking
When there's science to do
When I look out there,
It makes me GLaD I'm not you
I've experiments to run
There is research to be done
On the people who are
Still alive
And believe me I am
Still alive
I'm doing science and I'm
Still alive
I feel fantastic and I'm
Still alive
While you're dying I'll be
Still alive
And when you're dead I will be
Still alive
