    You don't have to mess with the ball joints to get the axles out. Just remove the bolt from the fork and from control arm to frame. Gives you plenty of room to push the spindle out. It's way faster and way less of a pain in the ass.

How do I twist it into place? It is suppended from a hoist and we have a floor jack to help push the back up to make the 19mm bolts align but it isn't happening. Any tips would be great.

    I had 2000 Ford Escort SE, I would just remove the engine and transmission with a engine hoist after disconnecting the wires, radiator hoses (after draining the radiator), getting the half shafts loose or out, and taking the motor and transmission bolts and nuts off while having the 10,000lb tow straps around the engine and transmission. Ofcourse with hood removed and radiator, lift and clear the front end with the transmission and engine. Make the necessary to repairs and reinstall the engine, transmission, all the other parts and fluids. Plus it's good to use new hub nuts!

Thanks in advance

    • @Wrenchlife604
      @Wrenchlife604  5 лет назад

      Had a acura that was throwing the same code i believe. Turned out it needed a tranny. Honestly in my experiance. Ive never had a faulty shift solonoid that ended up being the culprit. It always ends up being the tranny. But i could be wrong. Do your own research. Also shift solonoids are pretty pricey now. So make shure if its worth the cost for you

    Hey man hope you could help me if possible, so I just changed my transmission and everything is bolted up but my only issue is that bracket at the end of your video that you said to unbolt from the engine instead of removing the long bolt. It now has about a half inch gap from the transfer case to that bracket and now that’s it’s all back together and I know it needs to sit flush on it, any ideas as to why? I also can’t get my driver side axle back on the hub and it’s also missing about a half inch of clearance.
    I went back and looked at all the bolts that attach from the trans to block and all are flush? I’m kinda lost as to what I’m missing here

    How crucial/ necessary/ effective is the 'center' transmission mount?
    The "mechanic" swapping trannys for my '01 CRV showed me my old mount was totally busted- but then told me I didn't need to replace it because there are 3 other mounts. Considering the end result: I am questioning this (not that I hadn't already) and wondering what other "shortcuts" he made.

    Would this be the same process as a manual crv trans/clutch

    • @Wrenchlife604
      @Wrenchlife604  5 месяцев назад

      Very similar steps. Manual might be easier. No torque converter bolts to deal with and no cooler lines to take off.

  • @DavidJames-ev9qo
    @DavidJames-ev9qo 2 года назад

    Did you have to unbolt from the torque converter?

    • @Wrenchlife604
      @Wrenchlife604  2 года назад +1

      yes you need to unbolt the torque converter bolts. . turn the engine and undo them all. at 8:50-9:21 i showed removing the inspection cover. but the next video clip i lost the file. it was undoing the torque converter bolts behind the cover.

    How does this differ from a 2018 CRV?

    • @Wrenchlife604
      @Wrenchlife604  4 года назад

      2 diffrent engines. Similar steps fromnremoving axles. Bellhousing bolts ect. But will be diffrent due to the new engine they use in the 2018.

    People drive their automatic transmission cars for 5 - 10 years never changing out the trans fluid or putting in a new filter and wonder why the transmission goes out.
