Been looking for reviews online for the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 and so far this is the most informative one for me (Even though it is a comparison video) Highly appreciated!
I'm pretty happy with my XPS159570. It's a really great machine with top performance and a bright screen plus massive battery power. Nevertheless I also had some quality trouble. My keyboard was replaced 3 times! Fortunately Dell sent the repair service to my home. Now it running for more than a year without issues.
W2Best - Tech, Travel & Inspiration yea thanks mate! However, the price is over 2300AUD. Do you have any suggestions for other Dell computer and the budget at least 1500$?
I think a lot of people have. I'm a bit dissapointed in how the quality of the comparison footage came out of the osmo pocket, but I tried to do the best I could from it.
Hi ! I have an 2018 xps 15 (9570 I7/16go/512go). I like it but I'm planning to upgrade it next year. The inspirion seems interesting, it's slightly lighter and cheaper than the xps models. You can also add an extra ssd m2 in it which is very conveniant. However, i use at home the 32" 4K Dell monitor with thunderbolt 3. I wonder why the inspirion 15 doesn't work with the apple monitor through tb3. Any clue ? :)
@@w2best ok and what do you think about the new 16:10 screen of the xps 13. Do you think that it's gonna be mainstream and will be on next xps and inspirion 15 ?
@@alexiskrames6516 Oh, really good question! I think 16:10 is nice but not a fan of 13 inch. It's a bit too small. I think it would make sense if they divert the xps and inspiron lines a bit. A 16:10 screen in the xps line would make it more of a work machine. At the moment they almost seem to similar imo...
@@w2best Agreed. In one hand the 16/10 optimise the aspect ratio of the laptop and is surely better for work. In another hand, 16/9 is way better for multimedia content. What do you think is the better choice ?
@@Alkresh I have used a higher aspect ratio before in my mac but I think it really comes down to use cases. I screencast a lot and I really like screencastning at native 16:9 resolution. If you work on taller word / excel documents I guess 3:2 is better!
Just subbed!!! You’re pretty much the only person offering ANY form of review on the inspiron 15 7590, kudos My biggest question is the colour accuracy on your inspiron config...would you perhaps know what the sRGB coverage is? And how bright the screen is? I’m trying to decide between the inspiron 15 7590 and the xps 15 7590 and i know for a fact that the xps has a 100% sRGB screen with around 500nits Thanks in advance !!!!
Screen of FHD model is similar to XPS FHD. 300 nits and 100% rgb. 4k model is 500 nits. :) I haven't got a meter so haven't been able to properly test!
Would love to know the differences on the inside... Like the thermals and performance... XPS 7590 and Inspiron 7591 - both are available in my country but the price difference is so big ! It actually makes me wonder whether there are any other significant differences other than the ones you mentioned.
I would love to do that - but I don't have access to an XPS 15 so I can't do a full on comparison. I was glad I could get my hands on one for 15 minutes to get these comparisons. Also that is the 2018 model and it wouldn't make sense to compare internals with that. I think 7591 is way less interesting. It has the smaller battery and only 1050 graphics. 7590 is the interesting model!
The gaming performance is solid. See more in my gaming review if you want. However I think you should always undervolt because it lowers temps and increases performance. I have videos on this too in the Inspiron playlist!
If you can borrow this laptop for a few hours, could you do a perf/temp/noise comparison? It would be interesting to see if the higher price gets you better cooling.
We're not in the same city so that is not going to be possible. However there are so many reviews of the XPS in all gens so it should be easy to find temperatures for it! :)
I use this XPS model at work, and all of us are running into issues with the battery swelling causing the mouse pad to lift out of the computer. Other than that it is a great machine.
I totally agree with the quality control bit. I ordered the new Inspiron 7000 2 in 1 black edition and the mouse pad was loose and so was the screen to the metal case. I have asked for an exchange but it's annoying, I ordered it on the 29th of August and the replacement is due to come on the 4th of October. Pray for me lol.
Unfortunately I could not do benchmarks when I got to borrow a collegues XPS for 10 minutes. You'll have to refer to other XPS tests which there are more than enough of. :)
Yes! 7590 is lighter an has the option for 97wh battery. 7591 is aliminium, silver color and only comes with 56wh battery but then has the 3d storage bay so you can have 2 m2 ssds and one 2,5 inch. I haven't seen it live so I can't tell you if build quality differs!
Since I compared two different screens here It's not fair. But FHD inspiron is very similar to FHD XPS. 4K versions are also similar although the inspiron is not a touch screen.
Good video as always. Although too bad it was not that fair for the xps 15 since it was an older model. But you manage to pinpoint their main difference. I do hope that you can test your laptop in an EGPU set up. I hope you can borrow from someone LOL. Since your next video would be about the usb c charging, I hope you can also cover an intensive review for speakers and backlit on the keyboard. Since these 2 are the weaknesses of the inspiron 7590. Cheers mate!
Yep - I wish I had unlimited budget to be able to buy several laptops and compare... Being a small channel that is not possible yet. I will do my best with the Egpu testing! I might even order one to test out and then send it back! :) Ok speakers and keyboard backlight are two new requests! Thanks for that!
@@w2best That's great man. Thanks. Sorry for a lot of request since you are the lone reviewer of this laptop in youtube. Don't worry your channel will become big someday. Cheers!
Thx! That gives me a good feeling with the new purchase 🙌🙏😊 Do you know why Dell is giving so much discount on their new products? I saved about 600€ for a 1700€ notebook.. And it works/looks perfectly fine. The quality issue thing you mentioned seemed like a plausible reason for that. Any other idea?
I think their sales are just a random game! I don't know how it works at all. But the quality control issues are real. My keyboard just broke down and after I get home from my 6 week trip I'll have to send it for repairs.
I would say it's pretty good, but not as good as the master class trackpads like on the macbook pro. It's a classic PC precision driver track pad. Multi guestures work fine. It's a little too wobbly at times and the hard click is not as nice as the soft click.
Hey guys! I am a RUclipsr as well and do quite a bit of video editing but I have no idea which specs I need. Here's what I DON'T need. Since I have an external monitor, the size of the laptop screen or it being touchscreen means nothing to me. While very nice, all the premium materials & thinness of the XPS range are also not needed. The laptop also stays in one place so portability is not needed but I don't want a big desktop. I just need a pretty quick laptop that will render my videos as fast as possible. I also would like not to break the bank. Here's what I DO(or think I do)need: I want a Dell. Intel i7 9th or 10th Gen, 16gigs or more of RAM, 512gb Hardrive and not sure if a dedicated graphics card helps in the rendering of videos or if that's for game play on the machine itself of which I do none. Any suggestions?
Your comment is on a Inspiron 7590 video! For me this is the perfect option. It has extra slot for SSD which is perfect for video storage. It has gtx 1650 which is a great help in editing (as long as your software supports GPU usage) and it's a balanced machine for the price. Go i7 for the best performance. That's the best recommendation I have currently.
Thanks for the video! Do you feel the keyboard flex when you´re typing? And is the touchpad much worse (less smooth) on the Inspiron? Those clicks do sound pretty hollow :/ Do you know which material the touchpad surface is made of on the Inspiron? I guess it´s glass on the xps which is the best way to go..
You don't feel the flex when typing normally. In the close up i press HARD to make it flex. The touch pad is worse for sure. However I notice it mostly when using hard clicks which I rarely do. When using the tap click I think it's quite similar. But def. don't expect wonders from that trackpad. External mouse is recommendet for sure!
@@w2best Thanks for the answer. That's a pitty, but is it still comfortable enough to use all the gestures also on the Inspiron? Those magnets on the XPS do look scary though.. I'm also surprised that XPS is not even that much thinner!
