- Today we're making making more holiday DIYs with these super CUTE and TRENDY DIY oven baked clay ornaments. Every Christmas I like to make some of my own ornaments to switch up the decor a little bit. This year, I'm super excited to share with you these polymer clay techniques, including stamping, gold leafing, and even a terrazzo pattern!

Yessss! It totally transformed them. They look so, so good and I’m very happy with them 😍💖💖
Tip for making the clay easier to work with - I put it in a sandwich bag and stick it in my back pocket for about 20 minutes to get the polymers wamed up and pliable, its much easier on the hands than kneading over and over

Last year I did a clay ornament with the imprint of the key from my first apartment, and I plan to continue the tradition this year with the key to my new apartment!

I bought a few sets of clear acrylic alphabet stamps so I could use with an acrylic block for personalized ornaments. Each set is only 26 letters, plus numbers and punctuation marks, so I needed several so I don't have to stamp several times if I need the same letter several times. The font is super cute too. It was a stamp and die set. Each set was only $6 brand new so it wasn't too bad.

Love homemade ornaments!!! The moon is my favorite of the 3 but as usual I had a tough time choosing. Advise you to date the back of ornaments so that 40 years from now you won't have to guess what year you made them lol

Is this clay soft enough to do a handprint in?
My favourite was the moon, and second the tarizto (not sure spelling is correct) have seen it about very little over here which I think is s shame. Really need to visit a craft shop to get some clay of any kind, I've tried to order it recently and they are only selling it in stores.🤔🤨😃❤👍👍

@@tinalemac YT has a couple of vids on adding poster paint and acrylic paint to air dry clay. I might try a small test when I get my a d clay.
I really like the ornaments. Quick tip for making straight words.. I would try to rubber band them together and than press on the clay. But if I'm honest I like the style of yours not so straight words. Well done.👍💙

How’s the oven baked clay compare to the air dry clay? I imagine you have to work quickly with the air dry one, or that it’s harder to keep the leftover clay, but maybe not (?). Perhaps the texture or kneadability is different? Thnx!
I actually made one that says “bah hum bug 2020” 😂 And I feel that air dry clay feels more like traditional clay, whereas polymer clay has a slight rubbery feel to it? It’s also easier to keep because it doesn’t dry out! Even if it’s uncovered! 🙏🏼

How heavy are these? I am worried they will weight the branches down or slip right off.
The weight will depend on how thick you make them, but I didn't have any issues with it weighing down our tree branches. Hope that helps! (:
