I often get them hanging up 75-100 yards away with a lone hen expecting the hen to come to him. The season here begins mid-to-late breeding. When I put a jake or tom out with a hen, only the dominant birds come in, and it's usually fast and furious. I'm going to sit a bunch without a decoy and see if that peaks their interest to come closer.
