Yeah craftsmanship and all that but the one thing here that really impresses me here is that it has german plates and therefor got through a TÜV inspection with those modifications
excactly - that's what surprised me the most. Getting TÜV is impressive but then getting the vehicle recognized as close-to-original enough to be on veteran plates? Really impressive!
I wasn‘t going to address this but given the amount of comments on this subject matter... You guys realize that there were period rallye cars, right? Wheels are period correct as is the styling of the livery. The only things sticking out are the roofrack and camping conversion, neither of which is a permanent mod to the car and considered load, bot to mention reversible in 30mn- therefore irrelevant.
@@OnlyARoadtripAway sorry for commenting, I guess? Please excuse us complimenting keeping the car original. Turn comments off if people praising your work annoys you. Will make sure not to watch or comment on your other vids.
"You should go and do something cool too" - awesome message. Makes me wanna take my 944 camping. I will. I promise! You picked the correct car. These are surprisingly practical. Actually i cannot think of any sports car more practical than the transaxle Porsches. I have used mine as a daily for 10 years and then gave it a full restoration as a gift for never letting me down. The mods you did to the car elevated it to another level. You should sell them as an overland kit! :-D
I have two 924's, one of them for 30 years and I have never seen such an amazing job. You did not hack the car and cut it into pieces and while it has been modified it somehow still looks stock - in a way just like the factory would have done. So very well done to you!
A couple of months ago I had an idea to make an off road Porsche. I looked all over the internet for off road Porsches, getting ideas of what maybe one day I could do. And I stopped for a bit, then this video came up in my recommended, and I realized how badly I want to do this. I really hope that one day I will make this happen.
Eine Geniale Idee ! Ich bin sprachlos, so ein breites Grinsen hatte ich schon lange nicht mehr. Sieht so aus das ich mir in naher Zukunft auch einen 924/944 kaufen werde und diesen umbauen werde. Ganz geiles ding
Hope went to euro spec pistons or totally seal rings then would pump.up hp. Also vw golf throttle body will bolt right up need add one vacume line but it's double size intake single bore instead of that double bore
a 924 fell into my lap for $500 and this ridiculous build has sent me down a dangerous path with it over the course of the summer, and soon... it too will be roadworthy
I own a 1990 944s2. It was a gift “to me” when I made O-6 in the Navy the same year I turned 50. I’m retired now. I’m an avid backpacker/bike packer. I’ve taken my kids camping, my wife, my friends, and I’ve even taken my Australian Shepherd. I never thought to take my Porsche! Excellent video….on an exceptional car!
you have a very high understanding of cinematography and fine art, i was very confused to see such a good video about a converted porsche. You should be in Porsche's film team
Incredible build ! I build a similar setup for my 1998 polo. great to see somebody having the same ideas. The only difference is that his is a lot more refined
924's always made me happy...even when I owned quite a few transaxle cars...sleek and simple bodywork of 924, cheap as far as porsches go, and if you got few screws in the head as these guys do you can make something cool...There is no need for " singer" money to enjoy life...Excellent Video😊
This whole thing was remarkable.. I’m up at an hour I should not be awake at dreaming of overland dedicating my Saab 900.. the boot space is unreal.. and can fit a full size suv flap tent. The heater is totally genius thank you for the idea; quite Swedish
Great video showing great craftmansship. As an owner of a 1980 924 myself, this was an inspiration to get something done with my car as well. Lacking a place to do a restoration/rebuild, it has been stuck in storage for the last couple of years. I think I have to look harder for a garage space to rent, so that I can get some work done on this classic of a car. I really like the rally look, it almost looks that it has been a part of the Paris-Dakar rally back in the day. Very cool. Thanks.
Oh wow! That's super cool! I really liked how the "table" piece slid into part of the car's frame, and had those foldable legs to put down on either side. Very clever.
i wasn't really curios when i searched for ''safari build'' just wanted to past time...but this was one of the first video that cameup and im so happy it did. just binged on your channel. pls make more videos
I have to say that this is the ideal lifestyle for me to pursue in the near future I believe, loving the way you express your unique car culture and I'm having the same thoughts as other of your fans "How on earth do you not have over a million subs?!"
I used to put snows on my 1987 924s and drive it up to go snowboarding over snowy mountain passes. IT KILLED IT! The weight distribution makes it like an old rwd rally car. Miss that car but damn it was so slow at elevation here in Colorado
I'm so happy to see this! Im not even going to try and say I'm not impressed. I've built a porsche 944 to be my everything vehicle and recently its undergone the knife for its 4th revision and oddly I'm doing exactly I mean literally almost exactly! What you have done. *minus testing in the sub freezing!* I am so inspired and stoked to finish this edition of the car and it might just be my favorite!
Amazing! I keep looking at my Opel Monza, I know it has a large flat boot space. I love to travel and I love to drive and somehow driving a big camper van doesn't always cut it. I love what you have done! Thanks for sharing.
I’m just speechless. I loved your last build and the ideas on this build are along the same lines. I hope to one day have a fraction of the creativity that you do. Keep this up!!
Well done ! In 1976 Rudi Lind and Gerhard Plattner went around the world in a 924 - I don't think they camped in theirs so it's time you showed them how they should have done it ! Great build - looks real Mad Max ! Love all the detail !
Camping in a car isn't my thing, but that's damn cool. I've always liked the looks of the front-engine Porches. Yours is truly unique. I love the old school aesthetics of it.
This is an amazing build and it becomes even more of an amazing build considering that it was done in Germany where things like lifted cars are a rare sight and most people either lower or preserve such cars. Props to you!
I'm very very amazed , first the car woooow perfect i like your creativity , very good done 👍👊 Second ,video ,editing ,music you talking about car perfect , you just make may day 🤩😃
Go for it, and tell them why you came! note: Roofline-trim needs to be cut for the feet to attach properly. But there is no stronger rack out there for sure.
The moment I saw the hatch I thought, why didn´t you made it from fiber glass. But then I remembered, everyone see things different. Would love to own such a beauty and I am impressed that you made in Germany with all the laws.
The hatch construction was an afternoon job - and I have never worked with fiberglass before. The setup wasn't perfect, but really only designed to work in that particular winter environment.
How on earth do you not have over a million subs? The engineering is amazing and the editing is stunning
Because he doe´nt have tits and no crazy dug face.
Very practically and well executed. Supercool build! On to the next one!
Oh come on!
probly due to the lack of click-bite covers, oversmiling face expressions and tons of generic bla bla
@Thu Nell Ⓥ I read somewhere English is of Germanic origin!
this is actually one of those rare projects and youtube videos you won't find anywhere else and is underrated. so much respect to you all
And I can't believe how underrated this Chanel is
very nice. editing, build, explanation. you'll go far!
I know I’m in the right category of video when i find Mav in the comments
I'm happy the son of Where is Waldo is going on adventures and in the process taking us with him. Thanks dude!
Yeah craftsmanship and all that but the one thing here that really impresses me here is that it has german plates and therefor got through a TÜV inspection with those modifications
More stunning is that he´s got the H on his numberplates, what means that it is an officialy recognized oldtimer.
excactly - that's what surprised me the most.
Getting TÜV is impressive but then getting the vehicle recognized as close-to-original enough to be on veteran plates? Really impressive!

I wasn‘t rude, merely explaining. Have a nice day. ✌🏼
This is the coolest car i have ever seen. Seriously.
did you lisened to the vid? it have a heater that work in sub zero temps ! it's not cool, it' fkn HOT
Ich wünschte es gäbe heutzutage immer noch Autohersteller mit so innovativen Konzepten die Ihren Weg in eine Serienproduktion finden

This is the most German thing I've ever seen, and I'm all for it! Love this to death.

Epic as ever

Started restoring my old 924 thanks to this. This was incredible, thank you.
Hope went to euro spec pistons or totally seal rings then would pump.up hp. Also vw golf throttle body will bolt right up need add one vacume line but it's double size intake single bore instead of that double bore
This channel is a hidden gem for car lovers
Wahnsinn, ein unglaublich schönes und funktionales kfz, der 924 ist schon so einer meiner Lieblingsautos, aber der ist echt top.
One of the best filmed and edited videos I have seen in a very long time, not to mention the build quality on the 924
Mir wurde warm ums Herz! Der 924 ist ein Traumauto von mir.
Wenn du noch keinen hast dann kauf dir schnell einen
What an awesome rally/camping build. 👍👍

Another result of hardwork and sweat... Beautiful. Respects from Turkey.
Les prises de vue et la qualité du montage sont impressionnantes! ❤
Most underrated channel on RUclips for now...give it a few months...you’ll be fine....this is amazing....

If you still have the Polo you should post a video!
A great little car, I have my 924 since 1987 and it will be 40 years old this year 🎺
“You should go and do something cool too” got me pumped. This is now my dream car.
When I was about 7 I remember seeing a Porsche 944 and I've been in love with them ever since
Awesome. Some kind of MadMax-esque doomsday car
I would prefer a 924 or 944 to a Delorean for traveling 😉. Great job 👍🏽. The last sentence is one of it's best 😃.
Depends whether you need to travel space or time.
Not sure wether this is a stroke of genius or completely insane 😁👌❤️
The editing is amazing. Beautiful video; awesome car. So happy you popped up in my feed.
Being alive long before youtube was even a thought, you are my first sub. your work is soooo polished, hats off.

Best conversion ever. And the work behind this project - the build and the video - is just stunning.
Very inspirational, and awesome filmmaking! Absolutely love what you’re contributing to the ever expanding online car community!
Wow, absolutely stunning build.
I love that you maintained what passes for a back seat in a 924
This is some of the best editing I have seen in a while. Definitely underrated and subscribed.
That’s literally the coolest looking 924 I’ve ever seen! Keep up the good work man

Love everything about this video. Nicely filmed, well presented. Interesting ideas, great background story. Thank you for taking the time.
Beautifully shot, dream car!
Fantastic video and nice work on the 924. Looks very comfy.

Wow. Your editing is amazing. Watching this video in bed during quarantine inspires me to take up a project of my own.

Great overall video - excellent ambient-like music choices, tight editing and well-spoken.
just saw the intro, but this is gold. thank you for the effort.
I never thought Porsche turned into a camping car . Awesome !
I'm very very amazed , first the car woooow perfect i like your creativity , very good done 👍👊
Second ,video ,editing ,music you talking about car perfect , you just make may day 🤩😃
What a beautiful build. Makes me want to build one aswell. The 924/44 is sutch a nice platform in my oppinion.
I could feel tear coming out of my eyes, so beautiful...I want to have one, live on the road for 10 years...than settle down in a wood cabin.
This blew me away. Instant subscription and now I'm gonna binge the other videos :P
A list of all your used parts would be amazing! From rims to these camping legs of your bed 😜 Great work, keep it up, love watching your videos!
Its awesome to see a older Porsche get refreshed and not just sit in a show room
Truly amazing! You should be proud of what you created!
This is one of the coolest projects i have seen in regards to camper cars 😊
I do have a Porsche 944 and i love how you raise the car the all car looks terrific!!! nice works ! i am really impress with your car!
This is amazing! I'm so inspired by this. What an amazing build!
This is amazing production quality and the car is rad!
A truly fantastic build and a stunning video! Thank you for the inspiration! Subscribed😎
Wow. Very cool build. Looks like a lot of fun. Nicely done car and video. Thanks for sharing!
Sztosio!! Śmigałem 924 przez 10 lat jako daily .
Fantastic film. Fantastic car.
Amazing quality, fantatic. THANK YOU!
Fantastic, really good production
How am I only just now finding this channel? Awesome seeing another car proving you don't need 4 wheel drive for overlanding (camping).
Just 1 thing left to be perfect... 4WD
That roof rack came up awesome!!!! Would definitely love one for my 924.
Go for it, and tell them why you came!
note: Roofline-trim needs to be cut for the feet to attach properly. But there is no stronger rack out there for sure.
I love everything about the car and the video. Excellent work.
why would someone dislike this video? WHY?
Great video, man!!!
That 4Runner/Hilux is clean too 😎
Sehr schoenes Projekt und perfektes Englisch ! Respekt
That's incredibly smart! Great work
Great video content and an amazing work on the Porsche
Danke RUclips Vorschläge! Jetzt hab ich die nächsten Stunden etwas zu tun :) Sehr cooles Video und unglaubliches Auto!
Porsche 924 😃👌👏👍
J'en avais une en 1988...
Superbe transformation ! Danke
I'm not usually a fan of overland Porsche builds, but this one is quite nice. Also, really well done on the editing and audio on the video. Cheers
Most overland builds are style over substance and driven on road all the time. 😅
@@OnlyARoadtripAway agreed. I have seen some on Bring a Trailer fetching tons of money, but have never seen dirt and have spotless air filters! lol
As a result of a purpose build though, ours hasn‘t been used at all since the trip ended…
My '78 collecting dust in my garage as my 928 and 944 have taken it's place as preferred toys but now......oh yeah! Brilliant job #fantastiche
Magnificent build. Well done.
Absolutely fascinating!!
