This is happening in all the prisons but no one talks about it so thank you for reporting this.
Cause no one cares lol don't go to jail and don't do drugs it's that simple. Lmao fu and those inmates
Tell me it’s corruption without telling me it’s corruption
Americans are nazis
My county had this problem and completely went electronic only and fixed it.
Smart
In a large prison that would be an expensive fix. Not only the price of purchasing the electronics but also the price for constant replacement. Prisoners break whatever they can in prison just because.
@@jlv3x even in Texas they are starting to give them free tablets to use. They can make calls, send emails or play games on them. If they break it I think they have to buy a new one but they aren't forced to
@@jlv3x so!
@@jlv3x Im talking about a large jail Lol. its Its a tablet on the wall, It really was not that expensive. And you obviously never been to jail. Not all people in jail just break stuff just because, most people wanna get out as soon as possible and fighting/ damaging jail property doesnt help that.
This is why paper products including mail must be completely eliminated from prisons. Any communications and reading materials should be strictly electronically through cheap, bare-bones tablets or E-readers.
The idea is ready to be used but the prison takes forever get things done. Technology is there to stop paper mail.
What would that bill look like to purchase all those tablets and E-readers? Also the price for replacing damaged devices, because some prisoners will break them just because they can.
@@jlv3x Many places such as Alibaba sell those things wholesale. We're talking cheap basic tablets here. Not top of the line iPads. The prison buys them in bulk but marks up the price per tablet for individual purchase. In the end, the prison would break even. It would be far worth it considering the savings on resources and manpower going through loads of physical mail and paper reading materials on a regular basis.
The prisons already got tablets. Inmates buy them for $130 in federal prison and other prisons let inmates check them out with prison I.D and if that prisoner breaks it then they pay for it or get in trouble if they don't pay.
Yeah the system should spend money to replace paper lmao foh how about stay out of jail and don't do drugs moron. You sound dumb
Mail? So the guards are making money
Wow! they're just figuring this out now? this has been common knowledge (for jail staff and inmates) for well over 20+ years! they even replaced the regular paper stamps with ink stamps on all incoming inmate mail in the early 1990's (at least in Oregon) after learning that drugs (primarily just LSD at that time) were being saturated in paper.
Ya saw that on a prison show in the 2000s
Righttime in Santa Rosa County Florida and I know the prisons don't give him physical mail they get everything on a tablet
I was thinking the exact same thing. Here they photo copy all your mail.
We got all the spice on mail
Exactly 😂
"Inmates are using the MAIL to get high in the Cook County JAIL!"
Sounds like a Jesse Jackson speech.😂🤣
Are we supposed to care about criminals over dosing or dying ? In jail for breaking the law then breaking the law while in jail sneaking in drugs. Hard head makes a soft ass. This shouldn't even be on the news
Seriously. They’re so pathetic.
If you've ever did time you would know that's only like 5% of how it's getting in
Work Release / Work Crew and Kitchen Crew !!!!!!
...that doctor has such a relaxing, soothing voice. I can listen to her like an audiobook.
Yuck
She's a little too relax. They need to check her papers....lol.
She's getting some of that paper for herself 😂
I don't see the problem.
oh this is an old tactic, come on
This has been the wave. The jails know. Years & years.
Don’t allow them to have any mail.Give them one phone call a week. This is incarcerations not Club Med.
Obviously youve never been to prison..your the first one to get beat up
You're out your damn mind !!!!! Mail is the # 1 thing inmates look forward too !!! That's all you got on the inside !!!!! Jail is HELL. Inmates are gonna get high, PERIOD. They're in a LITERAL LIVING HELL !!!! Should try it for yourself and see how quickly giving a f*** goes out the " window " yeah cause there are NO WINDOWS in your jail cell !!!
You're probably a " 2nd Amendement Warrior " too not even realizing the hypocrisy you speak !!! Inmates getting high ? Take their mail !!!! Innocent Americans dying? Take the GUILTYS GUNS !!! Seems fair and balanced to me ???
That’s a little bit much they are Human and have family wives, moms dads kids one called a week because the cops are helping them get drugs inside the jail
Frankie baby, ur dumb as hell.
I’ve been to cook county one time. It’s too bad unfortunately people are overdosing but let’s just be real a good 75% of the people who work there are allowing that stuff to come in and they even get paid to let that stuff come in I’m sure they won’t really talk about that much
Guard to bring it in just like a pack of bugler sells for $100
the title should read the Cook County government fails to keep drugs out of jail...
They could solve all of the prison issues if they wanted to.
Lol it's all planned .
@@thegamingzone5963 Indeed jails/prisons are a thriving business
Where is the profit opportunity in that?
@@MomMom4Cubs Indeed.
Yeah, by allowing this to continue.
Win Win
Since they open all the mail why not just make a copy of the original letter? That way they are only getting paper that the correction center is using.
I did my internship at Cook County Jail ( PACE ) ( Program Activity Correction Education ) 28 years ago. The paper dotting drug issue was an issue 30 plus years ago! Why now is this drug issue amongst all the other drugs entering the jail system finally coming to light why not 30 years ago? Come on Cook County Jail "Y'ALL CAN DO BETTER"!
Because back then it was basically LSD & acid, which wasn't a big deal because there was a limited number of inmates who were in to that (using it.) The popular drugs such as, cocaine, weed, heroine, etc, was brought in by other means, like visitation, guards, jail employees, and outside contract workers, ect. There was an investigation that found out that visitors (jn certain divisions) would hide contraband in the visitors washrooms, (tape stuff under things, ect) and hours later, even a day or two, certain low risk inmates (usually doing county time, a year or less) would be used as "workers" for many different jobs under lax supervision.
These inmates would be compensated by some inmate(s) to retrieve the package, and from there this contraband would easily be distributed throughout every division.
The dregs of society work at County jails losers!
Guards bring everything!!!, In 😅😅
I was in a minimum security prison in 1982. Those dotted i's helped me pass a lot of time away while there. Sometimes we would get lucky and were able to sneak a few fresh shrooms in from the fields. 32 man cells and at least half were getting high every night.
I thought about doing that lol just don't cross your T's.
Proper punctuation is effective. ‼️
@@ladyfingersdippedinmoonlight who are you talking to?
I thought all mail was screened anyway so can they require email format that is printed on site or that any mail is transcribed onto new “clean” paper?
They do screen, but it is practically impossible to detect these substances because the dogs and the machines can't pick it up. On all the sheets I have seen there is nothing visible at all to tell that the sheet has any chemicals on it at all. It has no smell. You have to smoke it to figure it out.
They make it sound like this is a bad thing. Let more in!
So just kill people that made mistakes??? Wow. I hope you never have a bad day + a series of unfortunate events ( I just Gave you the exact formula to go to JAIL ) Willing to bet that half of all inmates in County Jails, neither planned to go to jail when they did nor, were they regularly engaging in criminal activity or at all !!! The average American believes you MUST BE A CRIMINAL in order to be arrested and booked into jail. WRONG !!!!! Jail is waiting around every corner for every living person. Some just know how to stay out better than others.
Y'all act like correctional officers ain't letting it slide by or bringing it as well😂
Time to switch to e mail only
Don't let them have mail or tvs they are being punished...dammm
Sometimes mail is good this is how my family found out I was still alive and not dead from heroin that I was doing out on the street's. We don't get TV that is some prison shit but county we get a shared TV that is also used by the guards so thus kinda hard to take away lol
Damn Mercedes you was a hype
Prisoners have more rights these days.
No, they are not legally being punished. Cook County Jail is mostly a pretrial detention facility. Most have not been convicted of any crime. It is a facility to hold those who cannot afford to pay bonds.
This shit ain't new when I was in county jail here in California their was always way to mail drugs in jail but I won't say how they do it lol🤐🤷🏻♀️😅
The snaper 😂😂
Pretty simple fix , books and magazines only accepted directly from the publishers. Give the inmates photo copies of the letters people send.
This is so sad 😢
What a feel good story! 😂😂😂😂
KEEP LETTING THEM OVERDOSE. How is this even a problem?
Not everyone is guilty in jail. And most of the people in jail are only there because they can't afford their bonds. The rich ones are already out.
Maybe mail can be xeroxed after it is received and inmates can get the copies of originals...?!
Some institutions do this. Others scan it and put it on a screen.
Ppl. Just have Nothing left to Live for ANYMORE. .......Waste of LIFE
They been doing this for years 😂
Who says prisoners have the right to receive mail and if they do scan it on a computer print out on paper and give it to them. If someone wants to send them mail send it to the prison by email printed out and then deliver it. Looks like criminals are supposed to be made at home they should be made to work in the fields growing crops for food
The US and Illinois Constitutions say that prisoners have the right to receive mail. And most people in the Cook County Jail are in there simply for being poor. They are detainees, not convicted inmates. The rich ones already bonded out and can do whatever drugs they want on the street.
I worked in a Nursing Home for over 25 year’s as the year’s went by it seemed like I lived there because we were always short eventually I started to get burned out and started to dislike my job ‼️ I can imagine working in a jail or prison would eventually make someone feel that same stress and frustration and just stop short of hating their job. So when inmate’s find new way’s of getting contraband and the guards have to look everywhere for contraband it’s got to wear on them also the fighting the trying not to get killed themselves’s they are hard sometimes thankless job’s unfortunately ‼️‼️
I’m surprised u didn’t mention the constant smell of 💩 too that’ll definitely stress u out as well
@@mansamusa7927 Really?! One day you will be old to!!
I'm sorry, I don't understand. they are in jail, and most are on a terminal dive to a grave or prison for life. Why not let them get high, if they die, it's on them and you save the taxpayer a few bucks. why save them if the state is just going to kill them anyway?
We were doing that in va 20yrs ago.
I thought they opened their mail how can they use the mail ?
Good old division 9. I don't miss that place at all.
Feels like a episode of HBO “OZ”
Marijuana being a drug is crazy.
Took a year to get to look into it... hmmm I'd start looking into the guards.
That been going on for years
Guards bringing it in!
All that does is prove the staff isn't checking and scanning mail like they should..good ole defunded Illinois for u 😂
Wow 😮😮😮
Fighting the war on drugs is a losing battle when you have ppl in this country that vote overwhelmingly for politicians that support open borders and illegal immigration!
You had me all the way till the end when you tried to pinpoint all the issues on immigration LMAO
@Gary R, the illegal narcotics sold in this country are not manufactured here. So, where do you suppose they're coming from?
@@TheAmericanPlug AND IF THERE WASN'T A DEMAND IN THIS COUNTRY FIR THEM THEN WE WOULDN'T HAVE THIS PROBLEM ...🤔...You have a good night..
@@TheAmericanPlug China to Mexico through the border in trucks. $390 billion in imports from Mexico every year, so lots of trucks, etc. crossing into the US. You want to stop that trade? Good luck. It's not people climbing the fence bringing in drugs, those people are looking for jobs.
@@rhllnm, I'm from a border state & work for customs. You are not qualified to lecture me on how narcotics are smuggled into this country. I've been fighting the war on drugs for decades and know immediately when someone is regurgitating something they heard from mainstream media. You should put the remote down and walk away from the tv. You are being lied to
If they really want to stop it we got these things called dogs...this is unexcusable
They want all the inmates start a war on each other then killed one another to get more space for other prisoners.
Did you watch the entire video?
The dogs can't detect it. I'm not a dog, but I've seen dozens of these sheets and you can't smell anything on them as a human. Even if the dog could smell something you would have to spend years retraining the dogs.
This is old news, I seen this in an Ohio jail over 10 years ago 💯
Why don’t they photocopy contents inside envelopes and giving the inmates copies, not the originals. Destroy the originals
pot wont kill em let them smoke pot
They should be giving the drugs to the inmates. They're already being held hostage for a length of time, at least let them escape the reality of it
The good ol dip n mail...
They found nothing in that jail cell raid. Tryna look good for cameras. Cool county is a joke
It’s not just in cook county it’s in Colorado private facilities it’s crazy how they allow it to happen but they do so many overdoses so illegal!!!!
Cook county hu. Theres one way to that n address the body in charge
lol most jails stopped paper mail long ago
Its not the mail its the correction officers. They xant even get mail they print off the letters and take envelopes from legl mail
Roach spray? Cmon now is a high that serious tho.
New? Ok
Why don't they just do what the prison does give him a tablet imprison you don't get a physical letter you get a picture of the letter
We keep starting wars we cant win
My ex was in prison a few years ago and he said they atay nodding in that joint 😅. However they getting it, they getting it
These folks are like MacGyver. All for a crack like high.
😂 it’s the COs brining drugs into the jails.
ITS CALLED PAPER PLANE ON RIKERS ISLAND 😅😅😅
And why do inmates have lighters and matches?
Why would anyone want to be high in jail? It’s going to make an inmate easy pickings to be sexually assaulted.
To get away from the endless tedium that is jail. It's something to do.
Assisted suicide
@Donnell Okafor Ah. Let the good times keep on rolling.
@DonnellOkaforconsensual, rt😢
@DonnellOkafor 🤣🥵
👍 GOOD JOB DEPUTIES
Jailers bring it in old news
This has been going on for years. Decades. Nothin new.
Shit been going on for 10 years plus
So what was that mix? Spray 5 separate times?
Pass the o bratha
So craxy
Old news yall decided to bring off the back burner. For almost 3 yrs people been in there od'ing off them strips, but now it been reported.
mail..like real mail? what da hell? at the fed holds you don't get shit, they take your letter and copy it to digital
What about the paid lawyers? They also play a huge part in this as well.
No one should break tha law but putting them in this kind of place with those conditions should be against tha law itself. It was designed to make you plea guilty every time, why do you think prison is better than here ? New form of slavery, we still have not let go of that thinking
Exactly. Most of the people in there are being held simply for being too poor to pay their bonds. The rich ones aren't in there, they left already.
The mews is in on it 😮
Its all a money skeem. The guards bring that stuff in all the time. The inmates are just good people, they wouldnt bring drugs into the facility lmao hahaha
All young inmates they will smoke anything or pop anything in there they smoking rat poison etc. Sad asl
I been getting high in cook county since 2000 lol everyone brings drugs in it’s easy asf especially heroin
A new war 😂 can you ever tell us things in the real country
Easy solution: only let inmates recieve post cards instead of letters. Any post cards that are stained or discolored get returned to sender, dispose of or investigated further. Change your policies! Not hard. My jail only allows inmates to recieve post cards. Don't have this problem here.
Not when 90% of it is coming in from the officers
I'm not sure that would fly for legal mail.
@@MomMom4Cubs It doesn't. Even jails with a postcard only policy allow legal mail. And plenty of these sheets are coming in disguised as legal mail to Cook County Jail.
O
Ban mail
Dont do drugs people
The biggest tip off on this whole thing about inmates getting drugs via mail in the first place… as if any of them can actually read.
Lol. What are you, twelve?
@@tracemagace8434
So do you think that these inmates that are receiving drugs in prison are well educated and upstanding members of society?
@@Donor14 I've known a lot of people who've been to prison and jail. White collar federal crimes to drug dealers to violent offenders. I can promise you that all of them knew how to read. Some of them had IQ's over 130. One has to be incredibly sheltered to think people behind bars can't read, lol. It's pretty funny actually, thanks for he laugh 🙂
nothing new. In the 1980's and 90's they used to put LSD glue on the back of stamps
My ex still does it the ole fashioned way
YER EX SHOULD FIND SOME NEW PEOPLE TO HANG OUT WITH.
@@Guitarman7133 she does it on her own to not get extra drug charges when getting caught up and so she won't detox bad in there
well if they are getting high that is a good thing keeps them mellow they should let them grow weed and smoke it and sell it to pay for the prison instead of our tax dollars.prisons could make a lot of money selling weed.
They always getting high in the county they are bored and depressed
They hide it behind stamps. I was a Corrections Officer, and they all get high and make their own achochol 😊
This is old news they've been doing this for so long I got out of prison in 2018 in Michigan and the whole time I was in prison for seven years they were getting this stuff from China and dropping it on the envelope and then they cut it up and smoke it after they make brown paper towel into a blunt wrap by using coffee grinds and turning it into a tar😂 and then they put Suboxone threats under where you seal the envelope
Such old news and they do scan mail to my knowledge why is it a big deal all of a sudden some one not doing there job or shortstaffed or they just don’t give a damn all prison facilities especially private facilities in Colorado we have a couple of them here that I’m aware of and what a shame the workers are the main reason the inmates overdose the main reason drugs are in those facilities sad but speaking facts
We are smart
Thats an incense.... wow
They are smoking rat poison and nail polish now in there. Not a joke. I witnessed it. Was released from division 11 last night. Was on BA and AF decks. I don’t understand what they’re on right now but it’s weird.
Let them cook
