I want a single U12 in a sealed box. Do not mind sacrificing some SPL for clean-ass bass. It would still be significantly louder than my 2 budget 10-inch subs in a sealed box.
In my Subaru BRZ I have a SA12-D2 in a 1 cu-ft sealed box being fed by a Soundstream Rubicon RUB1.1000D running 1000x1 @ 1 ohm. It's loud and clean, but I have never had this sub in a ported box and am really curious. Everyone says I am missing out. Space is a concern obviously, but I am going to see if I can make it work. I can vouch with him that it sounds great and is versatile in a sealed box.
Hey I don't understand why it isn't shaking everything in your truck. My E12 v.3 in my Explorer would shake everything. Outside mirrors, dash, I had to foam up all the panels in the rear, back glass had to be adjusted...and the seats felt like a massage chair...lol. I had it behind rear seat firing backwards with 536w running it. In my Suzuki Grand Vitara it was crazy. That little truck...man it was really loud with the same sealed box. I think it is just where it is in your truck. No cab gain.
First off your using a non CEA RATED amp from Walmart that is not rated what is shown on the box... for second sundown audio always underrates their subs and amp due to specifications...so this means that sub could take way more then wat was pushing it... third... having a sealed box is gonna give you more of that feel in the heart and body in a sealed box and a ported your gonna feel it in head and see everything vibrating like crazy
ebay has plans for a ported center console box with drink holders. i built it. output is 50-80% more with same power. really amazing i will neve build another sealed box again
The sub is under powerd. In a sealed box it takes more power to push it. Think about it you push on the speaker in a ported box it moves some what easy. In a sealed box it's stiffer. So you can put more power to it. Sundown under rate there speakers. That speaker should move more. But that's my opinion. Peace ☮️
Hey man sweet video I’m just wondering on the sundown website they don’t recommend a sealed box for this sub. I’m wanting to make a sealed E10 but I’m not sure what would you do?
Does it sound better in the sealed box? I have a 12" Kicker Solo baric sub with a 800 watt amp in a ported box. I listen to a variety of music, sometimes it sounds pretty decent I notice with any rock or oldies or anything other than bass, rap hip hop stuff it's a bit sloppy. Wondering if I would do better with a better sub in a sealed box with more power. Thinking a 15" in a sealed box with 1500 watts it might boom just as much while sounding better.
My sa12v2 sounds awesome in a sealed box sq wise.. I've never heard it in a ported box in person to compare but my dual hertz low end subs hit some of the lows harder in a sealed box so I imagine if I hook both up in my old ported box they'll probably smash I just don't want to run both of them in this car as I don't want to do any of the upgrades to the vehicle to be able to run a 2000 watt rms system.
if you fire it down on the floor it will be close to twice as loud and you can also get shallow mount box that fits behide the rear seats in the rams
For sealed you need more RMS power.i love my sealed box on a sundown E15. 2.63 cu ft and it's slammin'
Sealed just sounds better so if you just wanna enjoy the music and not chase spl numbers keep it

yeah probably. it does shake everything, just nowhere near what the ported box did.
@@kthibs6255 need more power to move a sealed enclosed sub

Rin let me guess, you’re a Rockville fan?
It is CEA rated. Look up amp dynos, do some research. I dont have it anymore but it was a nice amp for the price

Would you say that the sealed is better on rock than the ported yu had it in?
yes sealed sounds better for rock and fast punch music
Bass reflex man!
What kind of speakers are you using for mids and highs?
🔴 Sounds good! How much air space in the Sealed box??

Sealed 12 inch is generally around 50 liters so like 1.7 CuFt
@@FreezingOasis some good 12s (actual quality 12s) can go as low as .75 sealed.
Sounds good
How do you like that 4 channel amp
Underpowered
i mean, its at 650 watts rms, so not really
Should be more
This isnt the sa. Its the e. Im sure it could take more, but its not under powered. Its rated at 500w.

Fox acoustics llc look them up. I have dual sa12s
dimensions?
can this sub take 1500 watts
Would sound better if it was facing down
Think it sounds better sealed? Sq wise?
kyle gray sealed boxes have no group delay which improves the SQ.

Equates to about 10 hours of play time
It needs port holes it would sound better
Daniel Flores no
Jeremy S that’s why it sounds like trash
Daniel Flores I’m not sure you understand how ported boxes work
Jeremy S I don’t think you understand how subs work
Do your research then talk to me about it🤣
Under powered in a sealed box
Sundown never reccomends putting it in sealed. This is stupid af
Get a LCU converter
Nowhere near "650"watts lol
yes it is, do some research
Cheap amp on sundown 🤦♂️. I just got back into this and know better than PA IDC WHAT THEY NAME IT.
