Derrick can you test a sundown zv5 15 to see how much power it can take man those subs get down and I would love to see you test 1 of them great products that sundown offers and the quality is A1
What would you say is the main difference in sound and performance of the SD4 vs SLD? Seems like the sd4 is for smaller sealed boxes and the sld is for a little bigger ported?
I always enjoy your content and videos. I learn things I didn't know. The video did clear up towards the center of it. Just letting you know. Those subs are pretty cool. I might get a pair to see how they sound. I love the sound from them. Thanks for sharing man.
Would be cool to see a bunch of these in a fourth order bandpass... since they are supposed to be sealed a bunch in a tiny space inverted to maximize area in vehicle
A thought came to my mind whilst watching this; Is Sundown the best Subwoofer brand in the market today (rhetorical)? I don;t mean the loudest, or the best SQ, but just overall, very innovative, great price, and generally a great prodcut.
you specified that the shallow mount speaker is for a seal box enclosure. I have a foxacoustics ported box. Will the sundown shallow mount preform as good in this type of box enclosure
Another note tho these would be perfect for my wifes journey it has a small little storage spot that they would fit into perfectly and be completely out of the way
These look perfect for my scion iQ. Space for anything but the driver and front passenger is hard to find. Can these be reverse mounted to show the shiny side?
Very exciting! Now that neo magnet will fit in my box! Great work. Are they pretty good for sound quality as well? Best box air space? Pretty going to order these soon!
I love all your videos bro but I have 1 question do those hit harder than the swr-t12 alpines I'm torn between purchases both are rated the same just would like to know whose bass is deeper and if possibly you can do a video on it because I'm curious and a FAN of both brands!!
What size wiring are you using for the sub? I have 10 gauge and 12 gauge wire... Not sure what to use from amp to sub and not sure what to use for the actual sub to hook it up to 2 ohms because I ordered the SD-4 10" dual 4 ohms...
I am not seeing these versions on your website. I am looking to run one of these on a zx500 old school phoenix gold amp. I will be putting it in the rear quarter panel of my 95 land cruiser. You think I should get the 2 or 4 ohm version? It will be complemented by 2 sets of dynaudios. 1 3 way set 8, 5, 2 and one 2 way set 6, 2. running off zx 350 and zx 450. I also have 3 old school audio control 2xs and a eqx. But I may buy a dsp..
I just got the 12" SD-4 D2 in the mail today 10 -6-20 and I was surprised that it looked different but I can't wait to see how it sounds and perform for me but Thks to the Sundown Yard Sell for the fast shipping ....
So the 2.5" coil just won't fit on the 8" ? It'd be sweet if the neo fit inside the coil of those. I have 4 sd3 8"s but hard to see why to swap out to the 4s.
Sundown is by far the best bang for buck. SA 12’s are the shit man - I only send em 1500 rms and I can tell they are begging for more, but it’s plenty loud for me, actually more than enough. I feel like they will last forever on 1000-1500 watts
Derrick, I know this is a old video, but I have a question how much power can the SD-4 10 inch dual 2 actually handle? Thanks for any input. Love your videos man!
Would the 10” SD4 work good in a 0.33 cubic foot sealed enclosure? I built a sealed box that goes under my DRIVER seat in my Kia Niro and I want to get a better sub in there than what I have right now.
When are we going to see the new 8" lines?? Jacob posted on Facebook pics of prototype U 8"s Z 8"s and a nightshade 8"...? I wanna see those lol and how they stack up to the legendary SA v3 8" and Xv3 8"s.... Cause I would love to get ahold of a Z series 8" or possibly a nightshade 8"
Wish I knew this was coming, just picked up the SD3-10 recently. The magnet is huge and this would make it a lot easier to build a box. Wanna swap? LOL
Good video but I have a question regarding the box you used. According to the website - the SD subs need a sealed enclosure but you used a ported one. Is the website wrong or did you just think that it sounded better in a ported box?
Would these subs play lows better than the jl tw3 12? I have 2 now on a mmats 1400.1 in a single cab. They are loud but don't play low notes very well.
@@kohenblrrr4901 it’s decent. Depends on what you are going for. It definitely makes the music sound better. I do find myself wanting more, especially if you try to play rap music with heavy 808’s. Sounds good when I listen to rock and house. It’s when I try to play hip hop that I feel it isn’t enough.
Is it just me or is this video glitchy? This seems to be the only video that's doing it on RUclips for me Edit: seemed just the beginning of the video not sure what it is
Idk what to think besides its super shallow sub it sounds like it bottoms out so easily ofcourse in free air all subs are gonna do that . I wish u woulda installed the sub ina correct size box im guessing. .5 to .65 cubes of air space per sub in a sealed enclosure recommended? The neo also probably doubled the subs price tag but i guess u get what u pay for. Me personally i owned 1 12 inch dual 4 rockford p3 shallow mount i believe it was 400 rms 800 peak. It took the power but just lacked those lows in the 25 to 35 htz was horrible my 6 by 9s sounded like they was picking up where the p3 lacked i guess if u have to absolutely go shallow mount its good theres respectable options out the the rockford P3 i bought was 209.99 just for the sub only i think if u guys got the box and ur sub to match perfect u should make it a more prefab set up sub with box. Then theres the option to combine a internal amp taylor made to the subs specs that would take alot of the guess-work out and be a more plug and play deal. But thats my thoughts. The new neo shallow mount sub 1. Built to exact specs box. 2. And a high efficiency class D. Amp made to the subs specs for rms peak box type 3. The amp. So those 3 thing pre packaged ur talking what 400 to 500 bux for a single 12 shallow set up? If shallow was my only option and bass was that important u would have to find something.
Should have just kept the sd 2 design. After seeing the sd3 i wondered about a company that would go backwards. Company's page isn't even updated as to mounting depth etc. Clearly not much went into this sub. Hopefully better materials than the E series went into this, hefty price for a shallow sub, the consumers deserve some value. As usual fan boys are going to try with it, hopefully it stands up to a sd2, i doubt!
Dont know what happened with the glitchiness at the beginning. Video is fine on my end. Only thing I can do is reupload it.
Please try to reupload

The last video of the competition had the same problems
Dumb question but could u mount these on aftermarket door panels
I'm good with it the way it is
The first 2 minutes of the video is very glitchy. Is anyone else having problems?

I'm wondering if I can fit 3 12s also! What route did you go with your truck?
why did you show it in a ported box if you say do not put in a ported box? Also, why should you not put in a ported box?
I remember my first sundown audio sub it was an sd-8 d2 loved it
So glad to hear you guys are only an hour away. What shop in the area do you recommend for installation

I would really like to see move videos of the sundown sd4 subs in a small sealed box since its for going in small areas

Can these be mounted inverted and sound the same with the same output?
Thinking of putting 2-10s in my Harley?
I have a Phoenix gold zx500 that matches my zx 450 and zx 350. Will that be enough power for a Sd4 12? It's 600 watts rms.
30 FPS is what makes it look like it's not moving. Upload videos in 60FPS and it'll blow your mind

I have a Rockford fosgate prime 750.1 rms amp will that be ok with the 600rms rating I know SD normally underates there subs! Lol
I just purchased some of the sd3 10s, do you have a downfiring Enclosure for a 2014 f150 s crew?
seams the 12 needs that motor off that 8 however that type design may be what causeing the noise in the d3
Because I have a bunch of other amps. I just want the matching set in there.
I have noticed quite a few of the videos in that room start glitching. also at db drags it was glitching for a little bit...
