Beginner pvper here. I can totally relate to building up the pgens. Power/mass stall sucks so as a beginner you just over compensate or don't build enough units so you don't run out. It's easy to do and it ends up killing you. It's fun to learn though, finally actually started putting up a fight and outright won a few days ago.
One thing I read was that the beginning build order should be Land Factory, 2 PGens, 2 MEx (preferably next to the factory), 2 PGens, 2 more MEx, then another Factory. The first Factory would be building about a half-dozen Engineers to sped up construction before building Intel/Combat units, while the second factory should be building T1 combat units continuously (within Power/Mass limits)
Hi beginner here returning from playing in my childhood. This sort of stuff is really helpful. I struggle with map control and keeping it/making decisions. Thanks for the vid
Great commentary on this game again, thanks. More of the same please as it helps newbs like me to understand what goes wrong against other players rated higher
Great vid and commentary thank you. Cool thing you add into videos like these is, is like not only like, what he should have done from the start (ie not spam out pgens) but also, what he could do in the position he was in. That i think is the insight that is the best. keep up the awesome vids, im enjoying going back and watching all ur older ones.
My starting habit was having my commander cap all 4. Build 4 power guns in a line and a factory attached to them. Followed by 4 again and an air factory with my commander. Obviously not right but definitely didn't stall.
I wish getting "behind the ball" by doing something like building a few too many pgens (when they first built 5 of them. Before even building the 32 extra pgens after that) didn't have such a big impact on the rest of the game.
What's the point of building factory next to mex? It doesn't seem to reduce mass costs of units, or maybe sometimes it reduces by 1... While if you build mass storages around the mex, it increases mass output by 50%, which is +3 mass for a T2 mex and +9 mass for a T3 mex if I recall correctly. I keep seeing people do this, but I can't figure out why. I only tested it up to T2 units, but they cost the same mass with a connected mex...
So you mentioned he built too many Power Generators but never once did you indicate how many he should have built. As a 'Noob' myself that is the information I'm looking for.
as much as you need to not stall with what you're building. if you look at the intro tutorials on the wiki they recommend about 2 pgens for every t1 land factory, 4 for an air fac, etc. it depends what you're building.
My Probklem is allways as soon as i hit t 3 i have lkke - 230 mass per tick even tgough i have one or 2 maxes allrady on t3 and all other 9ish or so on t 2 i just don`t know why. My idea is that i allway build 6 t 3 enngies first and go for a t3 pgen and then start to uprgade or Control k and rebuild the t 3 with these 6 but still i miss so much mass until i maxrd all of them and most of the time even afterwards, if i look at the scoreborad im alsway good or atleast desent with total mass income but when i watch the other players in replay they are consistant maby on - 12 mass or so and spam out units and overrun me any idea how many t3 enggineers do you guys build when you hit t 3
Guys I'm new, where is the ladder section of the game? I notice the ladder talk of 1v1 but I don't see the option to ladder. I only see the matchmaking option, not sure if that's what you mean by ladder.
You need to be on the FAF client now. (forged alliance forever). This is a 3rd party install that you will need to link where supreme commander is installed to (.exe file)

Getting back into supcom after 10 years glad I found this vid, thanks!
I liked how you pointed out his mistakes, but I would have liked to see what the other player, probably you, were doing correct.
Couldn't agree more. This video was more about what to do wrong than what to do right.

Thanks bro.. I'm new to FA.. I've been playing SupCom2 for two years ish... FA Is a completely different game, and this helped me a lot!! Thanks bud.

Glad to hear it!

Issue I have is that I can’t do things quickly or think quickly so I usually fall behind on things
Underrated channel

Also around 9 31 his factory is mostly working because of the good job hes doing on the reclaim part

I like building turtles n grind 3 lv6 A I s I'm only a noob but If picked up quick awesome game ...old school command conquer red alert...
there a mod to see the build radius where you are moving ;)
I'll have to add that lol. I need that in my life.
I'm tired of ladder, each time I go in it puts me against 1200 to 1500 rated players. BTW I'm a 700 , but there is only 3 or 4 players in queue

This is a pretty old video. It got moved to the matchmaking section.

@@therasco400 Thank you guys. :)
Good tips!
Is this FA or FAF?
This is the FAF mod.
