Regards the "4mm of tiller therefore 4mm np height" whilst that's not a bad starting point, I'd be tying some much easier temporary nocking points, determining my np by shooting bare and fletched shafts together at 30m, then tying these at whatever height that test tells me. Tiller to suit my finger pressure/hook and whatever height of grip I might have and even draw length: these variables are going to determine where my np will be. Going to be different for everyone.
Hi... yes indeed, those factors will have a direct effect on optimum nock placement. One thing I would add, is I'd do bareshaft planing tests at a distance the archer can group which may be closer than 30m, and if they're a novice, then I'd probably just do a basic set-up (4mm of +ve tiller, 4mm nock point height etc.), check to make sure we don't have any clearance issues and let them get on with it for a while 🙂).
Fantastic video - thank you! Can't say I've used the rewind function so much before but got there in the end!
