    I was at this show back in 2000. My buddy recorded this on minidisk I think. I still have this on a CD-R 😀 thanks for posting - it brings back some good memories.

    This show was only a week or two before John played at SXSW and started to become nationally known... it's got the best version of Lifelines that i've heard anywhere. The audio quality is outstanding, you feel like you're right there in the room.

    I starter college in 2002 right when he started to gain steam. 2002 was the age of Limewire and I downloaded everything “John Mayer” I could find. I wound up with this entire concert but lost it 15 years ago. I’ve been searching for this for too long

    when he sang the chorus to man on the side you can hear the audience take notice

    • @jeanpaulmarrero2728
      @jeanpaulmarrero2728 3 года назад +5

      Such an interesting feeling when this happens! I was at an open mic night last night at a winery and the instance I hit the chorus in my first original song that I played, everyone actually started paying attention. It's pretty damn cool to realize that you got the audience's attention but, it is also kind of nerve-inducing haha!

  • @donnydelp
    @donnydelp 5 лет назад +5

    Yup. Myself and Richard Hamilton. Really glad it’s out there. This was his launching pad. Tape trading. To the point that this was the first. We got so damned lucky with this. It could have been shit and we could have had the soundboard patch if we had the right cord. John was the first recipient of this show. That was the deal.

    interesting that in neon he primarily strums the verse bars while singing instead of finger picking each note like he does now. yes, he opens up picking them, but then transitions to strumming once he starts singing
