For real. I have seen multiple different versions of this show, but I lose all sympathy for her after that. That was so cold. Poor Anita

@@supremefandom6970 not only that, but I felt like this version was especially heartbreaking because Anita was very vocal about wanted to get married and start a family with Bernardo 😭 he was her future and strength

Maria singing about how she loves Tony while watching Anita on the verge of tears looking at the bed she and Bernardo shared? Honestly, I did not feel sorry for her when Chino killed Tony. How how *how* can you be so in love with a boy you met a few days ago that he kills your brother and you proceed to forgive him and sleep with him and all but spit in the face of your de facto sister in law???????
I love how the slap triggers the start of the theme. Such a perfect timing

One of the most powerful duet performances ever on film. Intense and emotional.
Rachel’s voice is insane.
I love how this performance focuses on Anita's coming to terms with her grief.
Ariana (Anita) has such an incredible voice. She was my favorite voice in this movie.
This is just such a hauntingly beautiful song. It's tragic, and yet Anita does such a great job on her part. They both have legitimate arguments, and it's amazing to hear when they're singing at the same time. And to be fair, Tony tried to make peace with Bernardo and say, "Look, I don't wanna fight you. I just love your sister," but Bernardo just kept beating him up. Tony had no choice but to fight back.
Maybe with the original Tony but this one is....different.

I like this version better than the original due to Ariana sounding closer to what Rita was supposed sound like before they dubbed her.

This scene (even in the context of the play) makes Anita seem pretty rational and makes Maria seem out of her mind.
They are discussing a man who is friends with white supremacists and racists, and he just murdered Bernardo (Maria's brother and Anita's partner), and Anita (pretty reasonably) is questioning the safety of this person that just murdered her boyfriend.
Maria, though, just seems genuinely irrational. She doesn't seem to see red flags with a guy who is friends with racist who hate her people who just murdered her brother. like girl, are u good?
So moving, such gorgeous voices. I always cry and get goosebumps.

Nunca viste una película musical? Siempre son pregrabados, para oírlo en vivo vas al teatro. Sino sucede como en Los Miserables, voces temblorosas y una baja calidad vocal por insistir en grabar las canciones en escena.
Si buscas en las redes... La mayoría de las canciones se cantaron en vivo.
