I have a 3 and 7 yr old. We pray every night with them, teach them “The Lords Prayer” and Hail Mary. I read the Baltimore catechism with my older child and different age appropriate bibles for both at bed time. We pray the Rosary daily, all 20 mysteries, after breakfast, on our way to school, store, and bedtime. My oldest is practicing the apostles creed and memorizing the mysteries. We also have a great book of the Saints that she loves and reminds her to strive to live a holy life while we are still here on Earth. Also, don’t be afraid to talk to your children about death. I find so many people are terrified of even talking about death ( my husband struggles with this). But we need to normalize it for them so that they are prepared and expect it, and know not to fear it because of the promises of Christ. This will be their shield when they do have a devastating loss and will help them to not turn away from God in anger and despair.

We paid close attention to who our kids were friends with and to whose home they were allowed to go to. You are so right! Even within “Catholic” families, there is a spectrum of faithfulness to doctrine. We always said that our rules apply no matter where you are. Also, you made a good point about being responsible for the faith formation of your children, even if they go to Catholic school or attend CCD. My son took the Catechism of the Catholic Church to his “Catholic” high school religion classes to dispute the many errors his teachers professed. Parents beware! Catholic education is not a guarantee of our your children being properly formed , and sadly, the case is very often the opposite. I’m sure several of the teachers and the principal were very glad when our last graduated and they didn’t have to endure any more conferences with us.

So so important to know WHY we believe what we believe. And what make the Catholic faith true and good and holy. I think it’s especially helpful to know the answers to common misconceptions about the Church’s teachings ie. confession, “worship” of Mary, transubstantiation in the Eucharist

As a retired public school teacher in California, I tell all parents to get their kids out of public schools. They teach curriculum that is anti-Christian and anti-Catholic and there is tremendous pressure for children to conform. Even the concept of gender is now being denied.

Nice video. I have just discovered your channel recently and it was so refreshing to see a mom of my age talking about God and Catholic faith. You are such a great inspiration and beautiful inside and out! I just ordered a children's bible and prayer book for my 6 yr old son. He goes to a public school but thankfully they have a religion class where they talk about Jesus and he often brings up questions about God and Jesus etc. which is awesome.
Recently I was having conversations with some of my friends who are Catholics and those mums were saying how much they want their daughters to experience living together with someone before getting married. I was just shocked. It made me so sad that they had no idea how dangerous that is. I was even left sleepless that night because I was so sad and although I expressed my disagreement, all I could to was to just pray for them as I knew they wouldn't change their thinking so easily. It made me realize again that not many people, even within the church, just don't know or care about the church's teachings anymore. It made me even more determined that I will try hard to raise my children true Catholics.

100% agreed with this list! We as a family need to definitely be more involved in our church! Sometimes we get a bit overwhelmed with so many devotions but this is what we do as a family. We have a 16 yr old, 5 yr old and 1 yr old.
    1. Daily rosary every night as a family.
    2. Daily catechism. We went through Baltimore catechism once but now going through it again using our lady of the rosary catechism which is online and very easy and simple.
    3. Daily Bible study using father mike Bible in a year.
    4. Adoration and confession once a month.
    5. Enthronement to The Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Sacred Heart.
    6. Traditional Latin Mass.

I think the most important is fostering prayer: 15 minutes of prayer, even 5 consistently is good. Weekly confession really helps and daily Mass. Very young children may not seem to pay attention but the grace soaks in anyway. We used to point to the host, and whisper to them," look its Jesus". When we go to Mass, we are going to see Jesus.
Catholic radio, especially Catholic answers and Mother Angelica, and good movies about Christ and the saints.
And its very important to teach a deep love for "Mary Mama" from an early age.
Use the means available, media, loving affectionate discipline and especially the sacraments.

I really loved this video, I think these vdeos are key for Catholic parents! Cold you make a second part explaining how to teach the faith to children? Like, specific examples of how to get the excited about the faith, (e.g. in which time of the day you read the scripture) and how to make them become loving worshipers of God. May God bless you and your family!! 💕

You MUST teach you children history and philosophy.
    - History ("The Case for Crist" by Lee Strobel and "Cold-case christianity" by J. Warner Wallace.
    - Philosophy ("On guard" by William Lane Craig and "Five proofs for the existence of god" by Edward Feser.)
    - Critical thinking (see ´mama bear apologetics´)
    - Psychology (J. P. Moreland´s "The Soul: How We Know It's Real and Why It Matters")
    - Doctrine ("Why we are catholic" by Trent Horn)

Another great way to protect children is to wear the medal of our lady of safe custody, which she gave to Marie Julie Jahenny. This is the same lady that received the cross of forgiveness and the purple scapular. Our lady said ''I tell again to fathers and mothers of families, that it would be very good and a the same time a great grace, to have children small and big wear a medal that does not yet exist (It exists now) but one could very well have made, not very large as one would want. This medal would carry the words: O you, Blessed Mother, who has crushed the head of the serpent, keep our faith and the innocence of our little children''. She promised that this would keep the innocence in a time so difficult where pestilence and corruption will be diffused everywhere. - I got some from a french website recently to hand out to devout parents.

Lizzie, I am so sorry for your loss. I experienced a miscarriage this year and by the power of God and outpouring of grace from the Blessed Mother, a miscarriage support ministry is being created at our diocese, out of my family's loss. Some resources for you that I have found:
Behold your Child from the Archdiocese of Dubuque. Just Google it.
From the Association of the Miraculous Medal website...click on Pray With Us tab, then "Unbaptized babies: your saints in heaven."
Finally my sister, trust in God's Divine Mercy. Your babies are not angels. They are your family's Saints in Heaven. Your Holy Innocents. And you can pray to them!
Pax Christi and love from Colorado

Homeschool them. I live out in the country and most Christian fa.ilies here homeschool, keep their kids busy with farm chores and animal Care, and we don't really have much internet access out here, so if you don't get a.tv service, you pretty much can keep your kids away from most problems.
