It’s just unfortunate that these shelters are so underfunded & overloaded that anyone can go in & walk out with an animal the same day. No home checks, no making sure it’s a good fit….just “oh, you want this one? They’re all yours”. Stella seems to have lucked out with a good family; but unfortunately, a lot of these dogs end up “rescued” into worse environments they came from.

Same here. I love seeing so many people adopting from shelters and not just puppies. I wish we had better laws when it comes to breeding animals. My sister briefly dated this awful man who bred his two young dogs just for money and he hardly did the bare minimum to take care of all of the dogs. I agree!! Over the years, I've adopted many adult dogs (as old as 6-7 years old) and they are FABULOUS!! Some have come from abuse, some were vicious, but they quickly overcame their past and settled in!!

Not just his dog. I've had the best dogs by my side, and my youngest daughter now takes those reigns from me. Years ago my buddy hit me up, middle of winter in PA. He found a starved, almost dead, white pitbull dumped on his farm. I picked her up, my plan was to get her healthy, trained, and into a good family. My daughter was 6 years old, figured out the dog was deaf, and worked for months to train her. She, Trinity, wasn't a pitbull like I thought. She was a Dogo Argentino. I let the young one keep the dog due to the work and love she put in. We lost Trinity during covid. I watched my young one become quiet, antisocial, angry. So, I went online and found another dog who needed a home. My young one now has a Lab/Blackmouth Curr companion, Keira the Destroyer. The dog wrecks everything, shoes, doors, dog toys. But, my young one works everyday with her girl, and they are happy. Kids and their dogs, it's just amazing.
@v1pero734 I would encourage your daughter to do dog training as she managed to train a dogo Argentino which are notoriously stubborn and agressive if not trained properly.

So true !!
I'm crying. How beautiful! Thank you for rescuing her! ❤️
Stella is so grateful this boy chose her and loves her. She will forever be grateful and happy now ❤🎉
Love adoption stories like these. ❤ Im a firm believer that your dog picks you, not the other way around. Blessings to your extended family.
Im a shelter volunteer. For anyone considering getting a dog, please know that they will be a part of your family and require alot of time and effort. They are not toys.
💯💯💯💯 !! Also, give them time to adjust, it could take a full month before a dog is comfortable in their new home. I’ve seen people return dogs and cats within days because they’re not adjusted. It’s crazy!

Yep. Happens all the time. Generally with first time pet owners. I try to counsel people the best I can when I'm at the shelter.
@@DogLover_365One of our dogs took three years, she was so traumatised by her experiences. She became a really faithful companion. Patience is the key
Every kid needs a pet. It helps them become more empathetic, responsible and creates so many wonderful memories. I have such great memories from all of our dogs and cats over the years. The only bad part is that they don't live long enough. But even then they teach a child how to deal with grief.
A shelter dog, beautiful. I love that. Thank you so much. ❤She already knows she is going home to a new life. Enjoy.🥂
You can never beat the love and companionship given by a dog. 🐶 it’s so powerful it’s unbelievable. I love my little babe and I won’t have him any other way. ❤❤❤
Every kid and family needs a dog.
Every boy needs a dog in their life.
HIS life. You know it's a boy. This grammar weirdness has got to end. "Every boy needs a dog in his life." Otherwise say: "All boys (plural) need a dog in their lives."
Thank you dad for giving this beautiful dog a home, love & a new life ❤
glad you let your son have an animal there great i’ve had animals all our lives great Dad
This is how every family should get a dog and not a puppy❤😊
One of the best feelings is bringing home that new family member🥰
Many happy years to you.
Every child should have a dog and a banjo ♥️
Wow. This brought tears to my eyes. Thanks Dad.
Awe Stella is beautiful dog. We rescued a Shepard , she was the sweetest dog. We got her from the human society she lived for 13 years. We were so sad when we had to put her down last year. Stella found her forever home. ❤😊
The Best Dog , The Best Dad and Mom and the Best Little Boy.
That is the sweetest video I've seen all day. You didn't adopt Stella, she adopted you ❤❤ Thanks for making your son's dream come true. ❤ 🐕 ❤️
Great Dad! Taking his son to the shelter! Not just visiting those poor lonely dogs but allowing his son to pick his own dog! Imagine is more Dads across the country did this! Thank you, thank you! (I'm a rescuer)
This is a WIN-WIN situation. A dog that needs to be loved and a part of a family, and a family that wants a dog to love.
It’s so wonderful when somebody adopts a pet. I just cry. happiness all over the place.
Well the truth is that God's Loving Spirit is definitely expressing God's goodness to you. Don't doubt even if you hit a bump Our Lord has given you grace and mercy.❤
Every kid growing up should have a dog it teaches you responsibility, love and appreciation, and you’ll have a friend for life!
Thank you to dad for giving his son and family the gift of a dog. I couldn't imagine my childhood/life without my animals. They've added so much to ky life ❤
Me too. We always had animals growing up and I still do. Not a home without them
I love God ❤
Child's 1st dog.....almost as memorable as adults 1st marriage
That’s awesome to adopt an adult dog. They remain abandoned or unwanted 😢. So happy for him💐. Thanks to you and your beautiful sons who accepted him❤
CONGRATULATIONS STELLA!!!! I love the way Dad tried to trick his son.. but the son was not going to leave his best friend behind!!! I love this story! Rescues are so grateful and loving!!!! 🐾🐾
Getting a "USED"dog is tremendous!❤
While the Doggo did bond with the son, it bonded even harder with the father, just look at how it loves him ! 😊
The video of her peeking over her new dad while driving is so fucking cute omg. Who's cutting onions 😭
Keeps me choked up. Nothing better than a boy and his dog. Nothing better than a shelter dog for that matter.
Lucky kid, Lucky dog!!! Welcome home Stella.
Every child needs a dog! ❤ A constant friend & companion, a protector, it's like a sibling that doesn't get jealous or mad, but might steal your toys. 😉
Pets complete a family. Shelter animals are the best. They’re always grateful to belong.
The dog knew his son was special, I just watched a video in which a boy wanted a corgi so his father bought him one, a puppy, this kid on the other hand, just wanted a dog and his father took him to a shelter, the boy didn't care about the breed, not even the look, and didn't care that the dog wasn't a puppy, amazing parents, amazing boy.
So beautiful when a family adopted a dog without care if it's a puppy or has a fancy breed. All dogs are good boys/girls and all of them deserve a good family and a forever home! ❤
Every boy should have a dog.
So true give some responsibility at a young age prepares them for life at the same time a best friend
