My rear drum roller nuts were so tight, I bent the sheet metal attempting to remove them. I was able to remove one by applying heat with a torch to free it enough for the wrench. The other wasn't as cooperative, I quit asking nicely and used a dremel with a cutoff wheel to remove the nut (replacement nut $.60 at my local hardware store). I'm wondering if they used loctite on the rear nuts, it was ridiculous how tight they were. That said, the video was excellent. Thank you for you time.
Thank you for this excellent video! Very instructive and great camera angles! I replaced rear rollers and rear felt seal today, and had very few problems thanks to you!
The nuts on the back of the rollers were too tight for my impact driver to break. I had to heat them with a torch to get them to free up. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for the video. How can I be sure the rollers are bad? Our machine makes a kind of grinding noise, not like any of the descriptions I've heard. It recently started and the machine is about 4-5 years old.
Generally, if the roller spins by hand and doesn't have any flat spots or abnormal where on the rubber part of the wheel then it is good. In most cases, you will have one or maybe two rollers that are bad, so you can just compare the roller that you suspect is bad with another one of the good rollers. The most common roller to fail is the right rear roller wheel which is near the heating element since it is exposed to more heat than the others.
@@rcwessel We would recommend replacing all 4 or at least 2 of the rollers at the same time (the two front or two rear). The belt tensioner (idler pulley) and belt are also common items that wear over time and it is a good item to replace them for preventative maintenance.
I used your video today to replace all four wheels on my dryer. After we put it back together it was making a loud scraping sound. Took it apart again and found that the felt on the front of the drum was worn and the drum was rubbing on the frame plate. Not sure if the felt was bad before this repair or if we did something wrong when installing the drum. Ordered a replacement felt from Amazon. Hopefully it was worn from years of use and bad rollers.
Thank you for your clear, concise instructions. Super easy to follow and saved us lots of money from having to call a repair person.
Great to hear! Nice job fixing it yourself!

We found that ours were also tight and difficult to remove by hand, but using an impact to remove them made it might easier.
Followed every step and it was flawless. Thank you.

@@PartsDr Is it advisable to just replace all four rollers and the tensioner once it's apart?
