Great video, I’ve had to do disassembly on my Samsung dryer at least 5 times since I have owned it. Yesterday the heating element broke, and I noticed the felt tearing, so I have another disassembly in the near future. BTW, the tension roller on these machines is total junk, I’ve had to replace it after the wheel galled to the rod. I ended up making my own wheel with a sealed bearing, it’s been going strong for 3 years now, the old one would not last longer than a year. I noticed that filling the dryer too much will cause the galling to happen sooner.
I must say, it was outstanding! The level of detail and clarity in this tutorial made the process incredibly easy to follow, even for someone like me with minimal DIY experience.
The video started with a comprehensive overview of the tools and materials needed, ensuring I had everything ready before beginning the project. This was a great touch, as it saved me from making multiple trips to the store. The host then explained each step with remarkable precision, breaking down the process into manageable segments.
What stood out most was the attention to detail. The close-up shots of the dryer components, along with clear, concise commentary, helped me understand exactly what needed to be done. The video didn't rush through any part of the procedure; instead, it took the time to explain the purpose of each action and how it contributes to the overall repair. This made me feel confident and well-prepared throughout the entire process.
Another fantastic aspect of the video was the troubleshooting tips. The host anticipated common issues and provided practical solutions, which was incredibly helpful. Additionally, the video quality was excellent, with good lighting and sound, making it easy to see and hear everything clearly.
By the end of the tutorial, I successfully changed the felt liner on my dryer, and it’s working like new! This video is a must-watch for anyone looking to tackle this repair. The host’s expertise and ability to convey information in an accessible manner truly made this a five-star experience.
Thank you. I’m glad it was very helpful. 👍🏻
I just finished replacing the felt seal on my dryer. Thank you for the clear instructions and your time!
Your welcome.
Should I see and feel the felt gasket inside the dryer when it's assembled? TIA
Thank you Phil! I was able to replace my belt and felt with your walkthrough! Saved us a new dryer! Lifesaver. My wife thinks I'm awesome 😎
Awesome 😃
Thanks!! The belt part is tough. Two things to keep in mind 1. Watch how the belt goes into the roller and motor. 2. Make sure you have the grooves of the belt facing the right way. This video is very good. Thanks again.
Great instructional video Phil! Love the use of the installation driver! Perfect use for that tool. I can’t tell you how many home and appliance repairs I’ve done using you tube videos! Well done.
Pete, That driver is just awesome. 😀 it’s my go to tool for doing home repairs. Glad you like the video.
Update I was doing it wrong I figured out how the belt actually goes around the pulley and boom boom boom im drying clothes now thanks for the knowledge bro I could not have made it without this video
Glad it helped. 👍🏻👍🏻
Great video, very helpful. For some reason i didn't have to remove my door. I also recommend replacing the rollers and belt while the dryer is apart. It isn't much more if you buy a repair kit which includes the belt, tension roller and the four other rollers.
This tutorial saved us so much money, thank you!!!
Should I see and feel the felt gasket inside the dryer when it's assembled? TIA
Good job, Philip
Thank you 👍🏻
Great job Phillip!!! Thanks for the video.
Hope it helped 👍🏻
Thank you for making this.
Thank you so much! We are going to try this.
Your welcome 😀
Did this last year to my dryer. Where were you then ? Good job.
Thanks. Next time. I’m working on mind reading. 😂
@@PhillipBridgesReviews LMK when you perfected that mind reading. Lol
Should I see and feel the felt gasket inside the dryer when it's assembled? TIA
Thank you
My belts not tight when I put it back on no way it should be that loose also no way I stretched that much taking it apart must be missing something, what am I doing wrong
Is the original one made of fiberglass? It looks like mine is wearing down and what appears to be fiberglass all over anything. Looks like i have an almost identical dryer to you
Can I get the replacement felt at home depot or do you have to order it
I found it on Amazon. Link is description
OK just got the felt in the mail from Amazon here goes nothing I don't have 300$ and I need some dry work clothes so wish me luck 😅
I had to hinge that mug all the way towards me and then lift... I may have partially broken one of the plastic clips but that's the only way that mine came off.
Nice job!
I havent seen how long you need to let the adhesive set before using the dryer. Any idea?
I let mine sit for at least 4 hours. Had no problems. Figure longer the better.
Are the felt seals all universal or do i gota get certain ones for certain dryers?
The felt seals can fit a large variety of models. Just make sure it is compatible with that model.
Thanks for shoeing this. I have a Dv42h5200ef/a3. Looks just like this one. Does that sound like the same one? The link the the felt you attached doesn't include my model number but it looks identically to yours.. Everything I read says you have to by the whole drum which makes no sense. Samsung doesn't show a separate part number.
Mine is the DV45K6200EZ/A3-00 but both our models use the same drum from Samsung. So that felt will fit yours. 👍🏻 Thanks for watching.
@@PhillipBridgesReviews Got it ordered thanks for sharing. I literally spent 2/3 of the day yesterday looking for a model match.
@@billycooper4550 Your Welcome.
my felt seal came without glue . what kind of glue is it ?
Can I do a few loads before replacing the felt
I wouldn’t. It can possibly damage more.
Where did you get the liner and adhesive?
From Amazon. amzn.to/3RWsiMw
do you need to only glue on the outer part of the drum? not on the inner side
Only on the outer part
Did it end up fixing your issue? Mine has been squeaking for a while. Just tried repairing the felt today (not a replacement, but a part of it had pushed out and was no longer protecting between the drum and the bulkhead). It's still squeaking. Sounds like metal on metal squeaks to me, very high pitched. What did yours sound like?
Yes it fixed the issue. Mine did squeaked for a few loads of laundry but ending going away
@@PhillipBridgesReviews I went back in and it turned out I had a bad roller. I replaced those and it fixed things. Thanks for the video though! I'll probably need to make this repair before too long...
Can I still use the dryer without the drum felt seal? It completely fell out when I was drying some clothes and it was all tangled in the clothes.. I have the same exact samsung dryer model like yours. Thank you
I wouldn’t use it. Without the felt the drum has a gap that cloths can get caught in and get damaged. It can also damage the dryer.
What model is your samsung??
DV45K6200EZ/A3
@@PhillipBridgesReviews do you think this'll work for a Samsung DV42H5200EF/A3 I don't really know what the difference is and I'm still trying to find someone to fix mine. Idk why they won't they just said they couldn't
@@ryanwatt6706 yes it will. Both models use the exact same drum for the dryer.
Samsung dryers suck
I agree. This will be my last 👍🏻
They're not that bad . Mine is 8 years old and had the felt go bad... We literally use it everyday.
Great job dude!
