I really liked his character from the start. The writers did an amazing job of creating a character that had so much depth and who was so misunderstood. I've never seen such a complex character in a television show and Robert Carlyle played him very well.
Now that I have seen the real guy, I like him... lol... as for the ending... the way it has left off has allowed me hours of great imaginations... I get to pick up where the writers left off, and the next galaxy has been fun for me.
I'm beside myself with the canceling of SGU. I wish fan pressure could persuade syfi to bring it back. Robert Carlyle is the best thing on the show, Luv me some Dr. Rush! Thought he was great in 28 Weeks Later too.
@ohaman17 Agree while I liked the show and hated it got canceled I never cheered for a main character to die than in SGU when Ltn Scott got sucked out into space.Then was disappointed it was a hallucination lol.In season 2 Rush's character developed a lot and didn't seem like the "bad guy" most of the characters was developing nicely.Ltn Scott didn't progress any still the immature little prick and not a believable officer. The nail in the coffin was Mr Woolsey he killed SGA too such a douche.
Well, I am a writer, and the thought seriously has crossed my mind. AND, I may get some time on my hands this spring... If and when I do, I will announce on all the "save the gate" facebook pages.
The show ended in a way that... Yes I do want more but I think I can live with it if there weren't any. Unlike the way Firefly ending (without the movie) Or at least they didn't rush an ending like Enterprise

The only characters I liked were Rush, Eli and Jamil Smith (Greer). I thought the show was more drama than scifi.

Rush was by FAR the best charrector on SGU.. he was amazing in this role
I like how the cast can get so close that Robert can just say "Shut up woman!" to Ming-Na XD That's adorable!
I love Robert Caryle and think his Rush character on SG Universe is great. Can't wait to see the series show more of his character issues.
