Haven't yet read The Blade Artist but I reckon that Dead Man's Trousers is one of Irvine Welsh's best ever and is a great addition to the stories of the original boys in Trainspotting. And Bobby, what a legend.
i recall i trainspotting renton said that when he heard 'vienna' ultravox and i think tpau china in your hand on the juke box that begbie had chosen them ..
@@rubberchix the new Begbie likes that album. They fuckin ruined the character by turning him into a successful and intelligent human being. All for the sake of a happy ending... Pish.
Brilliant and also deeply sad all rolled in to one. But there is a palpably dark side when you move into the reality of the undercurrents, where only a very few venture.
I can't see how they can do it, in porno he is released from prison, in trainspotting two the film he escapes and ends up back there, so in reality he would never ever get released.
I dunno about favourite music. The Beggar is described as having a wonderful singing voice which makes you forget he's a psycho. So maybe he does have some taste?
Let's see: I don't deny that you can have your own vision of a local drunkard, with all his little peculiarities. I also don't deny that you can have your opinion of how Begbie might well have been, or how he should be. But the moment you adapt Welsh's Begbie, he cease to be Begbie.
The blade artist and dead man’s trousers should be read in sequence - they are probably Welsh’s best work they are scintillating x
I never stopped smiling, Bobby is the cutest person ever
+lokiistomsshadow I agree!!!
+lokiistomsshadow Agree!
Robert Carlyle visibly humbled by the presence of Irvine Welsh.
Bobby always makes me smile.
It's a fantastic book! Shows Begbie is indeed an extremely clever guy, but I won't give anything more away other than READ IT !!!!
I've read blade artist and currently reading dead man trousers they are awesome so the 6 part series'is gonna be awesome
I would love to see Begbie cry while watching a Pixar-movie
You wouldn't want to be caught seeing him though
@@abc-oq7dt very true!

@glynis........'he cried.....deep inside...he cried' likes 😉
And he didn't get his hole in T2 either.

I'm sure it was spud that recognised the choices of songs by begbie
I thought he would always play Take My Breath Away by Berlin or a Rod Stewart song.
Book was awesome, I hope the movie is gonna kickass too! :D
Begbie's gunna send uhm 'es cairds!
Begbie's favourite would be Rod Stewart's Atlantic Crossing, the album that put most sane people off him.
great films
Bet his favourite film is A Clockwork Orange.
You're probably right. In The Blade Artist, he even sometimes reads the book template for the film.
Brilliant and also deeply sad all rolled in to one.

I'm sure they would. I read somewhere that Danny Boyle would be totally up for it. Can't remember where.
I got about 15% of that
They Need 2 Make The Blade Artist And In 2 A Film

This is the most ridiculous character arc ever written... Begbie becoming some sort of intellectual artist...do me a favour
The fictive Begbie seemed to be a knife-man. Why? Mibbie he hud loads o´ medical knowledge fae bein´ a surgeon, he juist pretended tae be a pleb?
hahahahahaha
Шотландский акцент ахуенен
Ага, понял ℅20
Dont agree atall with Welsh's vision of Begbie. Judging by the set-pictures of T2, Begbie looks like a hardened debt-collector for drugdealers..
watch the first..
what the fuck man, there is only Welsh's version of Begbie, he kinda invented him
Fucking right he did..
+Svetozar | so what... I can still have my own vision of him, i can say I think his ideas about Begbie dont make sense tae me at all, right?
